Thank you for the video, one of my neighbors down the road brought one of these by that’s been sitting a year that has clutch issue. I think at the same time I probably need to change the oil because I know nothing about this machine and I wouldn’t be surprised, if the wrong oil in there caused some funky wear. I won’t know until I get it apart though.

Great videos. Your videos on the CVT transmission are straight forward.!

I try to be as straight forward as I possibly can. I want everyone to have the best understanding of how these machines work & how to fix the issues when something goes wrong.

    Hey guys
I live in northern Ontario Canada, I purchased a 2022 Massimo t-boss 550. I don’t quite have 1200 miles on it and I’m on my 3 clutch, and a one way bearing on the starter. Now I’m working on adjusting the valves and adjust the timing. The bike just stopped I check everything and like many others my closest dealer is 6hrs away. One guy at Massimo Canada was helpful, he basically sent me all of the efi parts for free and I sent in the Ecu and they checked it out. Never would of thought that the timing was of at 1200 miles but the timing and valves were out. I’m done yet I had to take a break I had a leg amputated in November. But as far as I can tell with these bikes it’s you have to remember that it’s not a ATV it is a UTV not made for playing in the mud or racing. As for the clutch 2 we’re my fault learning curves you might say. And if you do plan to play with it, install yourself a rear wich and use the winches don’t push the bike it will cost you. Learned the hard way! Lol
Now were can I get the slugs for the clutch? Do you have a part number I looked on Amazon didn’t find them.
If you use the bike as it’s attended for its not to bad I hope! Lol

You can find them on ebay. Yeah I have a lot of videos talking about the timing chains & the tensioner causing the unit to go out of time & also the cam lobes wearing off. Thanks for the comment & information. I hope you are healing up well.

      Thanks!
Is there any way to put a different tensioner for the timing chain? I’ve been looking for something that might work.
      Thanks for all the info!

Love your video. I put my slugs in my vector 500 and I used a pair of vise grips. The vise grips gives more working area.

Are you sure that the manufacturer didn’t forget to install those from factory because with that type of design you need those to keep the friction pads spaced evenly and grab evenly. I check the parts breakdown list. You should never end up with grooves like that. Make sure you use oil recommend for wet clutches like honda 10w40 sj thanks for sharing the info in this video.

Yeah the manufacturer doesn't install slugs in there wet clutches. I have done more wet clutches than I care to count. Every single wet clutch drum I have changed has those wear groves in it. That is from the design of the wet clutch itself. That is why I always recommend to replace to them all together because they wear as a single part even tho they are 3 separate parts. I also always tell my customers to make sure they use wet clutch compatible oil. The wet clutch on these units is one of its biggest flaws.

Mine went out at about 450 miles, I always drove in high though....Do you recommend adding more oil to the crankcase than what is suggested???? There's a lot of info from different sources that says it help prolong the wet clutches

If you have the oil fill extension absolutely. Evem with out if adding a little more really does help. But adding slugs helps even more.

Do you have a part number for a 2023 T-boss 550 clutch assembly, and also part number on the 2 dtream injector. Some guys are saying 2 hole are better then the stock 4 hole.

I sure don't have those part # off hand. I'm currently away from my shop. I would try contacting massimo directly to see if they have a # for you.
