Mommy? can we set up a budget so i have enough mony for someting i really, really want? Wow, how did you learn that word dear? a big blu kangaroo told me
Is it bad that I’ve learnt more from this video than in my actual accounting class? ... Well then again, my class can be pretty specific, and this was a tad more broad, soo.. eh.
Another piece of advice! This is something my mother and I do and it works so well! Got all those $1 bills in your wallet? Like a whole train load of $1 bills taking up space in your wallet?? What you can do is find a box that is small enough to hold money and store all those extra $1 bills in there. For every $50 or $100 you collect just from those $1 bills alone, tie them in a rubber band to keep it organized and have a better idea on how much money you have in that box. Currently, my mom's box has about $400 that she uses if she ABSOLUTELY has to for bills and such! I recommend trying this out if you can.
EXCELLENT video! at 32, I'm probably one of your few older viewers, so the lessons in this video are quite familiar with me. I was thankfully taught how to budget and manage money early on my my parents (mainly my mom), but there are so many kids/teens today that don't really get these important life lessons. I'm happy to say that I have a career now that allows to save for cons, retirement, a house, and a fursuit all at the same time, but it has taken 6 years for me to get to this point in my life. I hope your younger viewers understand that, while "adulting" can be fun (I can buy what I want when I want, as long as it's in my budget), it also comes with responsibilities (half my earnings go to bills and other expenses are taken out before I even get my final check), Unless you make a crap-ton of money right off, this process will be slow and too few people (adults and kids alike) don't seem to understand that. I really hope that your viewers take away a lot of life lessons from your video because they do indeed apply to all aspects of life when you become independent. My only slight disagreement is with the payment plans. They are more convenient, but there are quite a few makers who have had to deal with commissioners who were working paycheck to paycheck and fall behind on payments. I understand that emergencies do happen (though having an "emergency fund" in place tends to alleviate some of that pressure), but it would be far less stressful to just have all the money at once. You don't have to pay it all at once (though I plan to do 50-50 when I commission my suit), but just having it all ready to go is, for me, far less stressful, rather than doing a possible payment plan and possibly falling behind on payments.
@@opossumontheinternet9864 if you’re a kid, then it’s really hard to save since you barely make anything because expensive things you want seem unrealistic so you just spend money on cheaper things
they gonna call me crazy when I tell them I was taught to save money at the age of 12 by a blue kangaroo... Them: "Uhh... What kind of shit were you on, dude? As far as I've heard, kangaroos only live in Australia, and this is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan..." Me: "Oh, I was watching RUclips." Them: 🤔
I may have swapped majors in my previous semester of college because of the complexity of business/accounting, but I do remember that assets, budgeting, and liabilities are very important to managing money throughout life as well as micro-managements in the short-run. Couldn't have said it better myself Pocari.
I didn’t budget for a building project I was doing and ended up having to make my own gravel. So now I have blisters on my hands from breaking rocks with a pickax for 4 hours straight. I will budget next time!
Budgeting is such an important part of becoming an independent adult! I'm 19 so I still rely on my parents a lot, but I actually love making budgeting plans for planned trips/vacations. I have so many friends that live alone but are very irresponsible when it comes to budgeting and it gives me chills haha
*my teacher proud of me taking notes and paying elusive attention* *me really just watching a blue kangaroo talk about how to buy an animal costume:👩💻🙇♀️🤔📘📝
I've been piecing my fursuit together over three years. Those months with five pay weeks are best for putting aside money towards a piece or outright buying a piece.
Most important argument to what I hear most often teaching budgeting to teens at a local outreach: but this would take so long to save up for! Seven months!? That time is gonna pass anyway. Let it pass responsibly and the time after it will be more fun, because you don't have to worry about repos and pawn shops.
Hey Pocari ! Thanks for making this video, it helps me understand budget better and it was really fun watching it. I like the fact that your videos are kid friendly ( yes, I’m a young fur ) . You are awesome, keep on making these great videos !
i love budjeting, especially as a poor student its really important to make certain amount of money last for certain time period. so far ive done a great job and get to go to cons and stuff while studying :D
very good advice Pocari! im not like normal people i always have money over at the end of each month and i have the car of my dreams so i jumped on it and comissioned for a full partial, now starts the saving to get to cons in the US so i can meet some other furries not many here in sweden hope too meet you some time
This video could not come at a better time! I am just considering on getting a fursuit head for my dutchie fursona, Soulflare. I have contacted someone who is willing to do it, but I need to budget for this (since I am a college student)
Funny story. My older cousin watched this video (he is a furry) and was planning to use this plan to save up for a fursuit, but then he realized, he really needed a car to get to work faster, so he used this plan to save up for a car, and he has a car now, and now he's saving up for a fursuit!
I’m going to my first Furcon in a few weeks, Pocari! You were my inspiration into this fandom and in fact, I am a Fellow Aussie fur! I hope to meet you at neonfur or furdu one day! I am quite young though I have a Fursuit head that is being made currently, the maker plans to finish it next Weekend, I hope it arrives before the con. Love you, Pocari!! ❤️
I am currently unemployed due to being a full time college student, but in just over a year and a half I’ll graduate. I’m thinking of saving for a partial suit. I looked and they seem to go for around 1k to 2k USD. I’m going to stop buying video games and takeout to hopefully have enough left over to buy one. This video is super helpful, thank you for making it.
Hi pocari! I honestly love your channel so much. It makes me so happy that I get to express my self with the furry fandom. I live for your personality in all honestly you're so amazing! You make me smile when I watch your RUclips videos. I just love fursuits and the fandom. It's so amazing! Being a young furry is hard. I want a fursuit soooo bad. I'm making a partial suit in March though so I'm pretty pumped. I wanted to watch this video to see any tips you had for me in the future. Thank you for all the bottle episodes you make. I plan on supporting you on Patreon when I turn 12. Keep being amazing, pocari! ♡ P. S I also have a question for you. What is the best con to go to for younger furs, and what date would it be? Thank you for reading aaah -Kuijo
As someone who works in finance I appreciate what your trying to do. So many people unfortunately get themselves in a bind because they don't learn basic financing.
Never thought i'd learn more from a fluffy animal then i do from school. Seriously, the furry video i watcher more educating about the real world than my school is.
Thank you so much for this video Pocari, this was extremely helpful as I am wanting to save up for my first official fursuit and not just the moveable jaw mask from Target. I also work a part time job and I am a professional theater actor, which already makes it difficult to have a budget for a suit. But if you can do it, so can I, right? Here's hoping. And wow, did the quality of your videos change? It looks so real, like I can see every minute detail of your fur. Very nice.
I won 1st place at a fursuit Head Raffle by Rinaku on Furry Amino back in December and I’m really excited to see how it turns out and I may make an unboxing video on the Head.
I run off of budgeting. I could not function as a human being without budgeting. A huge cost for me is therapy it costs about 300-400 per month. I worked out the prices and found out that owning a horse. A living breathing 1200 pound animal is about the same price as 4 45 minute therapy sessions a month. Also for me horses work 10x better than a therapist because they keep me busy so I don’t have the time to get depressed. Now when people say they don’t have they money for therapy think of it as they don’t have the money for a 1200 pound animal. It makes me mad how much therapy costs. I love the videos keep on being awesome.
This is extremely helpful! I’ve been wanting to save up for a vive but I always get sidetracked and buy something else...Anyway amazing and helpful video! I’ll deifinity be applying this to many thing I want to buy!
HECC! I've learned more about budgeting from a cute blue soda roo on RUclips, than I have in my entire school life! Like seriously, I was never really taught this sort of stuff, and I went to a pretty decent public school! Now I'm in college and they STILL don't teach budgeting, not even the simple basics. I really don't get it... I'd rather learn something I'll use for my entire life than trigonometry or something like that. I live in the US, so I dunno if it's different anywhere else. But all complaints aside, THANK YOU SO MUCH, POCARI! This helps a TON!
This is the first ever RUclips video I’ve ever been early to. Legit: **notification mentioning Pocari** Me: **instantly clicks on it, leaving my first ever digital drawing hanging half complete**
Personally Pocari you explained budgeting so much better to me than my teacher when I went through a class that actually teaches it. Of course I’m 18 now so idk maybe it is because I’m actually trying to comprehend it now. However my teacher went over more thing then just budgeting but you explained it so easy for me to comprehend so thank you ^~^.
This was a great video and taught me a lot! Although, one small note, I might have been able to understand it better if you had gone over the budgets you had to plan to be able to afford Pocari himself (with a fake price of course close in range to what you actually paid so that we still don’t intrude on things that are your business only)
because i'm still in high school and obviously living with my parents, once i get a job, saving up for a fursuit will be easy! i won't have to spend any money on anything like food or bills, so i can just save each paycheck until i have enough. i plan on commissioning either MoreFurLess, AutumnFallings, Lemonbrat or LazyLion for my "furst" fursuit!
I need to save a couple a hundred a month as we are saving for a mortgage as it is. Most I could save for a suit would be around 60 gbp a month. For a 700 partial it could take me a while but other things take priority.
If you're on a budget, get a mascot suit! They're pretty cheap and you can get a fullsuit for about 70$. Also they look cool and you can customize them if you want.
Ok, but can you also make a video of budgeting for when you're the one making the fursuit, even if it's your first time(cuz I need to figure out a budget for starting my first fursuit)
Yah but one square of ramen a seems like a great way to save the most amount of cash.... and nibbling some of the food supply at work to make up for it as long as you aint gouging (7:37)
Well, I never thought that I would learn something about planning my budget from a blue kangaroo... that's actually great :D So now I know what I should do after I find another job =w=
I know that last joke was a about how schools don't teach you this stuff, but for a nanosecond I was scared because I wasn't looking at the screen. I was focusing on the fabric that I'm using to make a chibi pony plushie😅 and hearing the words "this will be due monday" scared me. Lol
Very simple video but I reckon this'll help a lot of younger viewers and give them some insight on how certain things work, and hey I got a cute silly roo out of it so I'm not complaining!
Hey pocari, I’m working in my school tuck shop to get some money of my own, but unfortunately for me, I don’t get paid much, nor do I work that much (two days a week...) but this year, I’m planning on buying some stuffsies! This includes some shirts, and it also includes going to Auckland Armageddon, in hopes to have a furmeet, so that’ll be fun! My first furmeet, and I’ll actually have money. Armageddon is also a convention down here in New Zealand, basically New Zealand Comic-Con. And I’ll have monies to spend on stuff like art, maybe some games, and food there!! :D Unfortunately, my family won’t be able to know about that, as they don’t like me being a furry... I don’t know why though. But because of this, I’ll have to go two days in a row, as I always go in cosplay with my sister, so that’ll be a fun thing to do... I don’t like the idea of having to have a furmeet in secret, because it feels like I’m really going behind my family’s back... but I also don’t feel like I’d be able to go if I told them. And I’d have to be there for a mate of mine that is now a furry (or at least deciding whether to be one or not) because he’s not the best with social interaction... or meeting people from online I don’t think... so I’d have to be there to help him, but also so I can meet my other New Zealand furry friends...
Oh thank goodness I finally have a solid guide to come back to once I get out of college.. 😅 Thanks so much for this important adulting lesson, Pocari! Hopefully one day I'll be able to get a fursuit. 🐾
I'm budgeting for fursuit material to make one myself :) I'm estimating my suit materials will cost around $3-500. I'm setting aside $10/week for them :) heh...heheheh...heh...heheh... Yeah, it's slow going. We're also saving up for a car and a wedding at the same time. But hey, I saved up $70 already, and just used $60 of it to buy my first 2 yards of fur! heheheh.... not that I can use it at all yet without the head... and the other fur.... but it's progress! And when that fur gets here, I can actually see what my suit is gonna feel like! I also am hoping to get a job this summer so that savings will add up faster! Yay budgeting and responsibilities! But this will feel so much more rewarding since I saved up for it and earned it!
Update: I now have all the fur I need, and all the foam I need, along with all the thread, elastic, and bias tape. While waiting to save up for the head (which I'm getting pre-molded for $90) I'm making the rest of the suit. So far I have the arm sleeves done, and one paw done! It's looking pretty good for my first time making a suit! xD Also I have an interview for my first job as a prep cook tomorrow! Wish me luck! If I get this job then saving up for the last pieces I need for my fursuit will be much faster! xD
Time to bring back #dontstayinschool I was never taught to budget well in school, nothing at all about money except how much susan will have left after buying 50 apples for £20. This is rly useful pocari thnx

It’s good budgeting advice though

I need to save a couple a hundred a month as we are saving for a mortgage as it is. Most I could save for a suit would be around 60 gbp a month. For a 700 partial it could take me a while but other things take priority.
Omg. Thank you so much for this video Pocari. I really needed help with this.
Hope you have a wonderful time with the ones you love. Happy early Valentine's day.
If you're on a budget, get a mascot suit! They're pretty cheap and you can get a fullsuit for about 70$. Also they look cool and you can customize them if you want.
Thank you for this, I hope it helps a lot of people out there
Ok, but can you also make a video of budgeting for when you're the one making the fursuit, even if it's your first time(cuz I need to figure out a budget for starting my first fursuit)
1 more thing and that also depends on your country currency biggest problem ever
Going to be 17 soon! Can't wait to buy a suit/items when I'm older!!
Yah but one square of ramen a seems like a great way to save the most amount of cash.... and nibbling some of the food supply at work to make up for it as long as you aint gouging (7:37)
Well, I never thought that I would learn something about planning my budget from a blue kangaroo... that's actually great :D
So now I know what I should do after I find another job =w=
That seems to be a very useful video! Thank you Pocari!!!!!!!
I know that last joke was a about how schools don't teach you this stuff, but for a nanosecond I was scared because I wasn't looking at the screen. I was focusing on the fabric that I'm using to make a chibi pony plushie😅 and hearing the words "this will be due monday" scared me. Lol
Boy, I got my budgeting lesson, not from school. Pfffffff. Blue kangaroos are the best teachers
I'm amazed that a big floofy blue kangaroo managed to teach me budgeting better than my school and parents put together.
Awesome video Pocari keep up the great work!
Very simple video but I reckon this'll help a lot of younger viewers and give them some insight on how certain things work, and hey I got a cute silly roo out of it so I'm not complaining!
Oh wise pocari please lend us your great wisdom from your hand of intellegence... All hail the great pocari 🙏
Your videos are incredibly helpful. Thank you so much! 💙
3:49 that tiny white strand on the top of her ear is killing me!!!!!
Unfortunately, my family won’t be able to know about that, as they don’t like me being a furry...
Grand...
My dad was so disappointed when I told him I wanted to be a furry
Anyways I’m saving money now I only have 20 bucks
Big r.i.p xP
Oh thank goodness I finally have a solid guide to come back to once I get out of college.. 😅 Thanks so much for this important adulting lesson, Pocari! Hopefully one day I'll be able to get a fursuit. 🐾
This was a really helpful video, thankyou Pocari 💙
why did I spend a month taking an online Personal finance class when I could have just watched this one video...
Whoa, I'm super early! Well, I'm just gonna say, I love you Pocarai and thanks for making awesome videos like this one! ^^
Thanks for teaching me finance better than high school did Pocari
Thank you Pocari I'll get a fursuit after TFF. It might be a couple months until i buy one.
Yes finally early, just want to say I love you so much pocari!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much pocari this is extreamly helpful!!!!
If I get this job then saving up for the last pieces I need for my fursuit will be much faster! xD
Kitty cat! Also hi Pocari I love your vids, keep it up
I actually really enjoy budgeting, thank you for this!!!😌😃❤
Yes, the adulting lesson we all need!
I had my very first business lesson from a big blu kangaroo :D ...
Time to bring back #dontstayinschool I was never taught to budget well in school, nothing at all about money except how much susan will have left after buying 50 apples for £20. This is rly useful pocari thnx
Good thing that is a class/elective I can have at my school
