I food prep and clean so I get a chance to pray. Inshallah, taking tafseer classes and understanding Quran. Learn Arabic. And making a space where my mind doesn’t wander off to distractions.

thanks for this Tazzy! This is only my second Ramadan as a convert. I can't fast due to my medical issues but I donate to charity as much as I can to help make up for my inability to fast. I hope I can read more Quran that's my goal for this month :)

Make a duaa list inshallah! Reflect on top 5 goals and top 5 worries that you have and write a duaa list to use throughout Ramadan!

Being a mom I just need time to myself. With school pick ups and drops offs and family of eight takes a toll on my health.

I know how difficult and exhausting it can feel at times but even serving and looking after our families ,cooking , cleaning , anything we do to meet their needs can be ibaadha so long as you make that your intention ( ya ALLAH I am doing x,y ,z and You see the efforts I am exherting in doing so , ya ALLAH I am doing it for Your sake and for You to be pleased with me , ya ALLAH reward me for it in both dunya and the akhirah and make it easy upon me ' etc.
Also remember this difficult season won't last forever, soon they'll grow up and won't depend on you as much in shaa ALLAH and you'll look back and miss the newborn cuddles, the hugs and tugging on your dress from the toddlers, the meaningful conversations with pre-teens and seeing them flourish right in front of you subhaana LLAH life goes by very quickly, sometimes there is no word to describe the sheer exhausting a mum can feel but remember ALLAH is Al Shakour, He sees anything and everything, small or big we do for those around us. It's an investment we are making for our own-selves, really.
Sometimes I know it helps me to shift my focus on things that will bring me joy : when the kids are genuinely happy with the smallest gesture towards them, the constant need they have to be with /around us, their trust etc. and you know best what means the most to you. It's all about perspective , even though sometimes there's just different look you can have on a specific situ.
Ya ALLAH don't let it any of mothers efforts and care for their families go to waste and ease their affairs.

I think I just let Ramadan come and go and start focusing more on the fact that I'm hungry, granted I keep up with salah but it's just not enough. This is the first Ramadan after graduating where I'm fully interested in joining tafsir class, watching youtube lectures (there are so many mA) and not eating like a pig at iftaar so I don't crash and can make it to taraweeh (still need to find somewhere to do that, what's with women being left out lol)
Not sure how it will be but going to try my best

This is my first Ramadan that I really took food and meal prep seriously, granted I still feel like I need to do a few more things this week but much better than last time. I really want to spend less time in the kitchen and more time reading the Quran. The dishes after iftar can chill in the sink for a bit while I take some time to read.

Yesss can definitely relate to feeling like I've wasted precious time in Ramadan before 😩. Love this video, being intentional and proactive is KEY. You explained it so well and so succinctly too - I need to learn from this haha

JazaakiAllahu khayra for this video, Tazzy! Thank you for this reminder. Really wanting to have an intentional Ramadan so decor is up, meals are planned but need to make a dua list and Qur'an goals إن شاء الله. May Allah allow us all to reach Ramadan and may it be our best Ramadan yet! May He have mercy on those who are ill and those who have passed away. May Allah always guide us to His path. Ameen

we start preparing in rajab by doing lits of istagfar and repenting over sins comitted that year to clean our spiritual hearts. then in shaban we read lots of salawat on the prophet ﷺ to enlighten our spiritual heart and beautify it. all of this prepares us to recieve the blessings that come with ramadan. also within these 2 months we begin reading quran having a set amount to complete per day and seeing how much we can read each day without stopping and slowly build up to the amount required to finish however much quran we intend in ramadan.
as a mum of 3 under 5 i tend to clean thw whole house before ramadan and declutter 1 room per week so i have less stuff to deal with during ramadan and i make sure all laundry is done by ramdan and eid shopping so i dont hv to do it in ramadan
