Audi TT-Rs vs. Nissan 370Z Nismo!! HEAD TO HEAD!!

  • So...If you HAD to sell your car and are not allowed to buy another one, WHAT WOULD YOU BUY?
    The Audi TT-RS is an awesome AWD Turbocharged sportscar with a 6 speed manual. Insanely powerful with 0-60 time coming in anywhere from 4.2, all the way down to 3.6 seconds! The car is fast to say the least. Much more torque than my 2016 Nismo 370Z and is way more practical.
    It is not quite as sharp in the handling department compared to the Nismo Z, nor does it have the raw dramatic feel. But it's faster, handles pretty amazing, looks ridiculous and most definitely is the car I would buy if the Nismo was not an option!
    It does come in around $7,000 more than my car, both being used, but maybe a supercharger on the Z would put them directly neck and neck?
    So what would you replace your current car with if you had too?

    I own a 370z as a second car and I was seriously looking at the TTrs as a replacement since I just get bored (Z is an amazing car by the way). But - the Audi pushes and understeers tremendously on back roads. The Z is much more the real sports car experience - in my opinion closer to a Cayman S than any other car on the road.

    It'd prefer to see the comparison with a new TTS - it looks so much meaner than this old model. Pretty badass like the Z. The handling is supposed to be improved and it has similar 0-60 times as the Z. Of course the interior is far nicer but i'm not sure it's as exciting, raw or as involved as the Z. I did try a TT mk3 TSFI and it was quick and powerful especially if you got it tuned but it lacked the excitement, the sound and racing car feel of the Z. A bit more like a BMW than coupe than a true sports car perhaps. For about £2000 more I can get a TTS with the same mileage and year. Hmm

    Forget about the specs and reviews. If you have driven both you will know why the Z makes more sense as a drivers car. TT lacks soul. While the Z feels like an old school motor capturing some of the essence of the old 240z. Manual is perfect for this car. Learn to drive it and forget about 0-60 times. Audi TT-RS is an awesome car but the Z is a car I need to be on point with and feel like I'm totally connected. I can see me going down the stillen supercharger route at some point.
    I'm in the uk so see maybe three 350z's a year and maybe one 370. So exclusivity is nice too.. I see about 10 audi TT-RS per week as I work near to an audi dealership. MOre so than audi's I see tons of mercs. They are all great cars in their own right but the Z has old school charm.

      David Reid Forget a supercharger, put twin turbos on this thing and it'll pull on some GTRs. The TTRS is a great car too but way too over priced but if you have the money both can push 500+hp with a few mods.

      David Reid - I live in the UK and I see many more 350Zs than Audi TTRSs. However, I've only ever seen one 370Z Nismo on the road, and not many 370Zs at all.

      wtf are you talking about the Z Platform old as fuck it's been left behind by other cars

    • @abandoned-mines-novascotia
      @abandoned-mines-novascotia 7 лет назад +2

      Yeah, and here is the TT being "new as fuck" ... yet we're still in the current (frustrating) trend of smaller engine block, topping at 360hp WITH turbo... the just-as-gorgeous looking Nismo (if not better, because it's a TRUE 2-seater, not a wannabe) is already there with 350hp ... WITH the much bigger engine (a block that cars like these SHOULD have) and all that future mod path to your heart's desire. Supercharge or twin-turbo the Nismo, and you're into territory that the TT could only dream of. That "old as fuck" Z platform will basically DOUBLE it's HP with only 9-10 pounds of boost. Now you're into the 680-700hp territory easily with around $10k in mods. Oops... the TT is already turbocharged... aside from pushing the fuck outta the 2.5l block and making your turbo bigger... you're basically maxed, as designed. The Z platform is just *dripping* for a supercharger, salivating at the lips. Yeah, that "old as fuck" is only at half potential, minimum, left NA. That 3.7l block can safely and reliably handle so so so much more.

  • @nukexD

    Wouldn't trade my Nismo for a German car that's for sure! 370 has a solid reliable V6 with years of R&D on the motor and suspension, huge aftermarket support and won't kill you if something ever blows up! (Wallet wise) but that ttrs is very nice looking inside and out!

    I have an Audi TTS, and it's a great handling, quick, sports car, but.....I do not like the steering. It's the one big let down. The dead zone in the middle is unacceptable in a sports car. Plus it's soooo light when driving slow that it feels like an 80's Cadillac. Like you said, once you start turning, it is responsive. The other issue is no power driving around town in low RPM. I'm tempted to trade it in for a Nismo.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed

    You bought the right car. Z is a true drivers car at heart, a classic sports car, better handling, naturally aspirated (No Lag), and not as expensive as anything German. The TT is a great car too however, it's basically a classic Audi 5 cylinder turbo charged engine dropped into what seems like a go kart chassis. But if you put twin turbos on the Z you'll shit on most stock GTR's, so I'd definitely go with a Z and grab a Garret turbo kit.

    • @MeansDaddy
      @MeansDaddy 7 лет назад +3

      Gonzalo Yea except you forgot one big ass factor to consider, price.... Give me a 370z and you take a TTRS. Then give us the same amount of money for mods. This coming from someone who has owned a big turbo Nissan and currently staring at a Stage 3 MK4 GLI in the driveway... A TT is s BADASS car but clearly way outside this guys price range. If you work on your own cars, are a enthusiast like you say, and own VW products like your say, then we both know the price difference between the Z and TT as far as mods is huge. Audi products are nothing more than glorified VWs, that shit is indisputable.

    A v6 for a german? Nah. V6 sounds far better. Not only that byt much mych faster when you mod it. Aam tt kit giving you 650bhp, aftermarket spoiler, hood and splitters etc. The end result is a nice car inside and out, silly amounts of fun and serious speeds and acceleration. 28k new where i am then about 18k in mods gives you the best car going for less than a new rs3/ttrs not to mention manual!

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  4 года назад +2

      In terms of behind a higher level premium vehicle, I agree. But the Nismo has a very raw mechanical feeling to it while also being a newer car for the same money. They are equal but different

  • @JeskEazy
    @JeskEazy 4 года назад

    The reason you’re accelerating slower in the Z doing a 3rd gear pull is due to the fact you’re doing it in 3rd gear. Do a 40 roll in second with both cars and the Z will drag it 😂

    • @IsaacCampbell
      @IsaacCampbell 2 года назад +2

      I’ve done a 40 roll in a v6 accord against a 370 and gapped it😂 TTRS would murder it

      GTR is a completely different car than the 370z . I wish they would have made the GTR like a big brother 370z. Instead you get awd, automatic transmission, and twin turbos
