Nissan 370Z NISMO vs Toyota GR86 | Japanese FR Coupe Head to Head

- Опубликовано: 9 июл 2024
- Today we have a comparison between the 2019 Nissan 370Z NISMO vs the 2022 Toyota GR86, which is from my own garage. The GR86 is a benchmark for me as I've mentioned in previous videos on my channel as it plays more into my preferences. As for the Nissan 370Z a classic silhouette, very good styling, more sportier, more aggressive, without being overdone. Between the Nissan 370Z NISMO, the 2023 Nissan Z, or the Toyota GR86... which one would you pick? Let me know in the comments below!

The 370z Nismo is my dream car. Test drove the 2020 “white pearl” 6-speed MT. It is a true Japanese muscle car.
My summer car is a 2019 6mt Pearl white. Never get tired of it.
u had any problems with the car?@@datacipher
@@thefapboy1850 I first bought it with one owner previous. I realized quickly that once in a while, it would start, and have no power - in a limp mode of sorts. It would correct after a several seconds (although one night it persisted until I stopped and restarted). It took a few trips to Nissan - the first ones they said they found nothing...the last one they called Nissan and followed some procedure to reprogram something. They weren't too clear. My guess is that the guy before was messing around with some tune (although everything else was stock - except short tails on the exhaust). Anyhow, after the reprogram, it's been flawless. I put a stock exhaust back on (although I may change it at some point), and now the car has been showroom stock. Put on about 50,000km with only a few oil changes... couldn't be happier.
@@datacipher Hey thank you for the fast reply and thanks for telling me
@@thefapboy1850 NP. IF you're thinking about getting one, I'd certainly recommend it, depending on what you personally want in a car.
I've been contemplating on which car I would choose and I thank you for helping me decide! Ive been wanting a Z for the longest time because I feel like it's a full package deal. The only thing was, I thought the Z just felt heavier. I wanted to experience a lighter car since I thought it would suit me more and it would be easier to control? but when I heard the sound of the Z, it has really won me over. I grew up watching Tokyo drift and that's how I ended up liking the Z. Thank you for this review!! definitely helpful
86 def significantly lighter. I think both are great options, but NISMO Z is a different animal than base
@@jubbalandcars Oh ok. Notes taken!
The twins interior is one of my favourite aspects. Well thought out simple and unique, prefer it over the gr supra
Love the new twins interior yoo
agreed
It's quite Lexus hey
It's great minus the steering wheel straight off a suzuki 800 from 2000
These 2 cars are among the best cars to ever come out of japan. They are more fun then most of the turbo cars.
NA life baby!
Love the wheels on your GR86!i have the same car onliy 2023 and premium, and like yours Neptune Blue!
Yeeeeeeees!!!! Finally, I am actually cross shopping these.
Hope it helps!
I owned a 2013 BRZ limited and now a 2010 370z touring sport! The Z is a more powerful platform and the base Z doesn’t have rev match in the 6 speed! I love my Z way more! And now it’s modded and super quick in comparison to stock!
@@jeremymaffei4034na I got rev match a touring sport with Bose, navi and all.
I love your video and I am interested in a 370Z NISMO tech automatic and once again love your video for driving a automatic
Cool, thanks!
I'm also a 2nd gen twin owner in Las Vegas! Does anyone know what roads these are?
My first two cars were a 79 280zx and a 76 280z. I love the older Z’s and I really like the look of the new Z inside and out. As for driving dynamics the new Z like you said is a GT car and it’s very heavy. If your looking for that then it’s amazing. The 350z and 370z were less GT and more raw which I like except they still weigh to much and the seating position is to high for me. The GR86 that you own seems to be more of a spiritual successor to the older Z’s. Light weight, not much power but lots of fun. I owned a GR86 and loved it for those reasons. I switched to an NB Miata because it was lighter still and had more feedback from the steering, plus it’s fun at any speed top up or down. Great review
Well said!
More GR86 content please!
Traded my auto 15 Frs for my 6-speed 2011 370z, but I absolutely love the GR86. Been wanting to see the comparison between these two since it came out. I personally like the old school style of the 370z, with all of the tech in the newer cars its nice to have something that's analog it doesn't bother me much. I'd love to have a GR86, but don't think its worth the time/effort/money I've put into my Z already so she's here to stay!
Your Z is one sexy beast
Ha..the Nismo all day!
Great video
The only way to really compare them would be a manual head-to-head comparison. I really enjoyed driving both in Auto & could tell that the manual BRZ was the one for me, purely due to the 370z nizmo price tag, and perhaps a little on the interior
From an outsiders perspective, it could be simply put like this. In a straight line obviously the Z is a much quicker car with more motor. However, the gr86 is a much more toss-able car, little weight transfer to start cornering. The Z handles as good as a stock 3450 pound car can, the gr86 handles as good as a stock 2800 pound car can. It comes down to whether you want something quick in a straight line that still can handle good, or something not as quick but handles about as good as anything can besides a much more expensive cayman.
Why is he wearing 2 watches?
that 230 oil temp was killing me😂
I'll take a boosted/supercharged Z any day over the GR86. The Z has such timeless looks, it almost IMO looks like a baby between a Porsche Cayman/911 and the 240Z and it still looks damn good.
lol if its the same price i would rather go for the Nismo 100%. new CIVIC SI that's 30k I would rather go for the GR86 instead
Lower the centre of gravity with hks shocks and further tighten the chassis with collars and braces and it will feel nicer
370 is like a Japanese Mustang. Cool car, just a different experience than an 86
Often made comparison, but much better steering than any mustang i've driven
Much different experience. For one, the 370 doesn't have the amazing Coyote engine or power. But the 370 is more agile.
@@jubbalandcarsGood point. Doesn’t take much to beat the Mustang’s steering lol
@@raneer_6567they both go about there way pretty similarly in a way though but still different, the mustang has imo the best modern NA v8 in there, the nismo Z had imo the best modern NA v6, both powerhouses for the size of the motors, the Z is faster around corners. But that’s the tradeoff the mustang gets for producing over 100 more hp.
I have a 16 370z sport tech and it is modified, but eventually I think I will buy a nismo with low mileage whenever my current z gets up there in mileage.
I have a 2018 Sport 370Z not sure if that’s near Vegas where you were driving, but they really need to repave that road you were driving on 😂
GR86 limited in EU but can still get one. I rather have a Audi TTRS or another Nismo for over 33k
I love my 2020 370z ❤
What’s your opinion between these two cars if you’re looking for automatic only?
I haven’t driven GR86 auto
Just learn stick and get manual
@@jubbalandcars i can drive stick, not interested in having it on my daily and only have room/money for one car right now. Been looking at a used 370z vs auto gr86 vs supra 2.0. Didn’t like the numb steering feel and claustrophobic cabin of the Supra 2.0, looks like from your video the 370z excels in both those areas.
@BELLOCANRULES the 7spd in the 370z is pretty awful.
I have 70k€ to buy a car and modify it, should i take the Nissan 370z nismo or the gr, tbh both seems cool but i don't like those 230horsepower from the gr86
I say go for the Nismo and you won’t be wanting for more power 💪
370z all the way, bro
Why are you wearing two different watches at the same time?
Yes
Had a 18 nismo 370, it was cool, but I can't justify the price on them at all. I had an Evo prior for less $ and I would take the Evo any day again over it. I still like the 86 and the 370 but for the price on the nismo it was just too much.
370z ❤❤
Nismo 370z’s that arent high mileage are still $40k+
Wonder if new Nismo will drive down prices
With a manual, fake noise deactivated and the right exhaust, the 370Z is hard to beat. Sounds insanely good at the 10 sec mark: ruclips.net/video/al8T0PmnjdY/видео.html
That does sound good
New Mexico?
Next time driving on a better road that road is so lumpy and messed up but the car look like it drove real good
Better buy 86 then 350z/370z This model so much weakness i really regret it
what phone holder is that?
CtrlAltPrint mount from Etsy
Sorry this comparison is not relevant the Toyota 86 and a Miata are more fitting a Nismo 370Z is different level. Also it’s automatic Nismo Z 🤢that’s really wrong only manual for the Nismo Z
Stick with the tried and true!
They shouldn’t even sell these in autos.
GR86 for me, thx
You and me both
and u cant compare z34n manual with some miata car lol , u cant compare z with porsche
Why's he wearing two watches, like ik one is a digital and has more uses, but.. Cmon man that's just distasteful 😭
lol u come compare it with u gr or new z etc
Clearly you loved the 370z Nismo. 2 mins of 86 vs 10mins of Nismo. 🤣
GR86 as quick baseline since I have so many videos on my own cae
@@jubbalandcars Also really appreciated your vid and driving and automatic nismo in a vid! I'm buying one Tuesday and I'm stoked. Take care!
the 370 interior feels early 2000s with all the wacky shapes going on.
Yeah oval motif doesn’t age well
why is it that every time they review a 370z its always a auto, test out a manual
If you got one available I’ll gladly review it
@@jubbalandcarsif only i didnt have the same car as u
Great taste
The gr86 is a scam. Hardly worth the price it is asking for along with the oiling issues from factory. Z no doubt.
