  • Yoga practitioner Dylan Werner discusses his book "The Illuminated Breath: Transform Your Physical, Cognitive & Emotional Well-Being by Harnessing the Science of Ancient Yoga Breath Practices". From our first breath to our last, we spend our entire lives in a perpetual cycle of inhalations and exhalations. Yet few of us are taught how to breathe, why we breathe, or the ways in which the breath influences us emotionally, energetically, physically, and spiritually. Werner delves into the rich histories of breathing techniques and breath work, while validating these practices with a strong lean toward physiology and science. Using enlightening, practical examples from everyday life, Werner explains how energy flows through the body and how the breath can be used to regulate and control that flow.
Dylan Werner is a renowned international yoga instructor, author, lecturer, and educator in health, well-being, and mindfulness. His extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology and deep understanding of Eastern philosophy lends a unique perspective to his teachings. A former United States Marine and Iraq War veteran turned city firefighter/paramedic, Dylan left his career to pursue a life of mindfulness, dedicating himself to helping others in their journey toward a more peaceful, harmonious life.

Looovee the final part about asteroid which exactly prooves my previous point in breathing 😅❤️ if you truly bring yourself into present and that we have no idea what next day (honestly, next moment) brings and “the end” is one valid option, who cares about ficsating on a breathing?! :))) 🤗 we breath all right, our body knows to take care of it 😂 when I realize all I have is now my drives simple (including taking in deep breath of forest air :)).. they fliw naturally .. smile, laugh, taking with deepest gratitude and awe this human sendual experience :)) too bad we are socialized into anxiety around death of the body that our mind is terrified of living in now and enjoying its potential..

“We learn by our journey to the conclusion “ a metaphor for life.

I loved Dylan’s classes on the app 👍❤️ was great for me to get back into asanas and strengthening movement… manipulating breath though 😬 I came to conclusion thats not what heart of yoga, as first taught by Krishna to Arjuna, is.. actually contrary.. appropriate breath unfolds naturally when mind leans into heart completely 🥰 I wish there was more discussion in yogi community about it. Our prana.. life energy.. is not to be controled but loved and surrendered to… but that is not something that traditionally patriarchy-affected spiritual masters were able to tap into and thus not able to further transmit..
