Given the current uncertain circumstances, it's crucial to grasp effective financial management, prudent investing, and adeptly maneuvering through economic downturns. However, my main focus revolves around boosting my stagnant reserve of $240k, which has remained idle for far too long with minimal to no growth. While I'm committed to the long-term approach, the erosion of my savings due to inflation and the daily depreciation of my portfolio demand immediate attention and a solution.

Should you seek guidance, consulting a financial advisor is advisable. While you're capable of managing on your own, financial advisors possess extensive knowledge and expertise in this domain.

The significance of advisors often goes unrecognized until emotions cloud judgment. I remember a couple of summers ago, during a challenging divorce, when I needed significant assistance to sustain my business. Turning to licensed advisors, I discovered someone highly qualified. Despite inflation, she played a crucial role in boosting my reserves from $275k to $850k.

-_- ... nope.... 'Before you start chopping wood, MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT FOREST!'... Ramit Sethi is a scammer and is getting rich by telling YOU, how to get rich... classic scammer... and all he is saying is directly the opposite to what scientists will tell you (so he can create controversy and stimulate emotions)... i.e. that Capitalism is a 2 class society, there is the Rich and the middle class / workers... if you are born a worker you will forever be a worker, sure you might reach 'upper middleclass' but you will forever be a WORKER / MIDDLE CLASS... Because the Wealthy do NOT want you out... for them to stay rich they have to underpay someone and that someone is YOU... use your head... how do wealthy get rich: they UNDER pay supplier, OVERCHARGE the buyer AND avoid taxes... in other words, everyone gets screwed except for them... they do NOT want a fair system, because 'fair system' will cut into their margins and prevent them living in luxury, while you are scrapping their floors for pennies... and NOT course / book / seminar will change this... As long as you are in Capitalism AND you are born in the 'workers class' you are pretty much screwed... the only way out is: get lucky (e.g. win lottery, build a business that will take off, youtube channel, etc) OR marriage... I mean just do the maths: even if you save: 5000 per month (60000 a year) for 20 YEARS... you only get: 1,200,000 ... a typical house in the Wealthy Region in Ireland is 6 to 10 million... Wealthy class send their kids to Ivy High Schools that costs 60000 to 120,000 per YEAR and could NOT care less about such tiny expenses... THAT'S the reality of being born in the wealthy class... no matter what they do, they always win... and even if they fk up... just raises taxes and get WORKERS to bail them out! AND YOU ARE NOT GONNA GET THERE... because you were born a worker! WELCOME TO REALITY!

This is great. Nearly perfect for every young person to watch. A little more focus on the reasons you might want to get to $100k. I want to worry less, I want to be able to help family, I want to travel more, I want to donate more to Doctors Without Borders, I want a $20k yurt at Coachella. Young people rarely know what they want. In my 20s someone helped me with a few goals. It unleashed the power to making the first 100k. I was lucky for that.

I feel bad for the people who don't understand what Ramit is talking about. There may be two reasons:
    1. You have not read his book published in 2009 (I will teach you to be rich).
    2. You don't understand what it feels like to grow up in an immigrant family, especially an immigrant family from South East Asia.
His book has good money-saving tips and tricks. It was all about being judicious about money but there was very little mention of enjoying life when you have the money. That's why he did not bother with repeating those money-saving tips and tricks. People like Dave Ramsey has already taken care of that. It is good to see how much his philosophy has changed since then.
This lecture is focused on the next part of a person's life. When you have the money then what? I have a relative (65 years old) sitting on millions of dollars. He simply does not know what to do with his money because he never thought about his money dials. I asked him about it and he said "I have forgotten how to spend, and the only thing I can think about is saving". This may sound a bit extreme, but it is more common than you think, especially for people coming from poverty. When he will die his children will fight over who will get what. That is why this lecture has resonated so much with me.
What is the point of a rich life if you don't know what to do with it or how to enjoy life?

And when you spend it, the worry of saving it won't make you more poor - this is how minds grow, when you don't have to think about needs, then you can use your mind to be what it is. If you worry about the fulfillment of needs, with money you'll seek for a luxury house - while a better person may seek for something genius like Da Vinci.
If buying a better house for luxury is what magnified in your life - it means you always seeked to fulfill that need, while in reality you never had to worry about it.
Thinking about needs make you more poor, and poverty is just a state of mind.

Real state proved over the years to be very rewarding, and I would highly recommend to those conservative investors who don't like risking their money in the stock market. After a terrible 2022, shell-shocked financial backers have a lot to think about and losses to recover from. An expansion report and a wealth of other data did little to alter assumptions that the Central bank would likely keep raising interest rates regardless of whether the economy slows down. I don’t bother using coupons because I only ever SAVE a few dollars. I don’t MAKE a few dollars. Coupons only operate on the basis of how much you spend. That amount is small and does not grow. Making money can grow and you will make much more than you save.

There is SO much we need to teach unprotected buyers and investors about aging buildings, underfunded reserves, and disjointed legislation. The can has been kicked so far down the road that today's owners are paying some HUGE prices for yesterday's lack of regulation. Apartments and commercial buildings are regulated, but condos are not! I'm happy you are helping buyers and investors because not only are they being hit with $100,000+ assessments or investor take-overs, but safety is a HUGE concern since 50% of ALL American condos were built 30 years ago!

Basically sounds like "rich life" is aspirational, meaning do one or two things that make you feel rich. Because if you were/are rich you don't think about buying an appetizer or hiring a personal trainer or business coach, or staying at the 5 star hotel, you expense it and do it.

If there's one thing this guy is good at it's marketing. He has had no other financial and business success in his life other than selling his courses and books to people wanting to get rich. There's a brilliance in there that he managed to get rich off of people wanting to learn how to get rich. But at the end of the day if it helps people, who am I to judge?

I feel like you're implying Ramit is a bit of snake oil salesman...all I can say is that in reading his book, he has maybe some of the most grounded, pragmatic & well reasoned financial advice I've encountered in this space. He'll literally mentions the credit cards and bank accounts he uses and will justify why -- he shows all his work, in a way that allows the reader to see for themselves why his advice makes sense. I will say the talk shows less of this side of him, but it's absolutely there.

Whoa! The MOST EGOcentric talk I have heard in a looooong time!
The feelings people get from buying/spending are not fixed - they are formed - usually from social constructs (social status/acceptance...) and/or corporate/marketing manipulations/propaganda.
It is FAR more "rich" and more powerful to self-generate those feelings usually with little to no buying/spending.
The following quote is NOT to be taken literally - "He who cannot live with nothing, cannot enjoy having everything."
