Hey guys - Stark here. I love you guys, and I’m sad to see this box office result despite my feelings on the film. Thanks for the love and support, make sure to drop a like!!
Just found your channel and I gotta say you’re nailin it. I personally loved the movie cause I wanted to see some character back stories. The CGI was pretty bad, but being a mechanic and seein all the creative vehicles and action scenes is amazing. I’m also sad to see how poorly it’s doin. I’m a fan of the series and I’m really hoping for more films. The wife and I love goin to the movies, but unfortunately there’s been very few worth watchin lately. Your breakdowns are spot on and fair. Can’t wait to see more of your content
Most people apparently HATED it and hated me for it so to remove the headache and bad vibes, I just privated that video. Unfortunately you can’t win em all 😂 - but thanks for the love!! More long videos coming soon, maybe even tomorrow night, so stay tuned
I think the franchise was never overly popular. The last one came out a long time ago, so all the hype has gone, and not having max and focusing on a character no one remembers didn't help. They should have made it on maybe half the budget to make money. Films need to cut the amount of CGI and focus more on story to be profitable. The budgets just don't make sense anymore.
The reason why this movie is good: Now when i saw this movie advertised i wasnt overwhelmed because natrual realising theres no mad max in it i assumed it was going to be a dum, mash-up, money grabber. But i watched it and was surprised to find out its actually a well written, entertaining action movie. One of the main aspects is the female lead is a strong female character without the woke strong female girl boss being shoved down our throats. Anya taylor-joy is brilliant! Her performance was just convincing. Ive watched alot of your videos and i agree with alot you say, but the problem is we see so many woke, ideological, lazy films these days with piontless, cash-grab spin-offs, i think people natrually disregard this type of movie. The truth is this was actually just good! It was a fun movie that didnt piss me off by the end and in this current climate i think sometimes thats enough.
I thought the movie was great. Very different from fury road. Why did it flop...well why are almost all movies flopping. This is not a rare thing right now. Maybe movies shouldn't hit VOD 2 weeks after the movie theater. The movie isn't flopping because it doesn't have mad max or because it has a woman lead. MOST movies are flopping
People are just not going to movie like before. Huge budget movie should be less common… Mad max was not big either… it was pretty mediocre other than those cool cars.
Guy it did bad because Max wasn't in it. IGNs a mad Max film doesn't need mad Max didn't sit well with fans. Also it was called Mad Max so their still living off the Max name. If not no one would see this. The movie failed because it's a prequel no one asked for. Max had a flat arc in his film and that one was a Furiosa film. This movie wasn't smart a bigger budget for a non Mad Max film. So why not get Hardy on Board. The movie was doomed to fail kinda. Then they had a Max like love interest. Also even the planned Max film was a prequel. Set 10 years before Fury Road. That's not entertaining to anyone.
I loved Fury Road, but I was underwhelmed with this one. As for the toxic comments, that’s a sad part of social media, isn’t it? Godspeed with all that. 🙏🏻
This movie was honestly a mess.. I did love some the of characters and I LOVED the lore/ world building, but the film overall just felt so unfocused and all over the place. It needed to be scaled down or if anything, split into a mini-series. Way too much happening at once and it makes it difficult to get fully invested. At least 12 people in my audience got up and left the theater throughout the film. It was sad to see, but I can't blame them for feeling a bit lost.
Hey friend! I also reviewed the movie on my channel (albeit more favorably lol), but there's a very SMALL critique I have about comparing Fury with Furiosa, and it's that they were separated by an almost full decade. I definitely have my own thoughts on what time has done to the film industry, but I'd love to hear if you think there's been some fundamental changes to the way people view, review and consume movies post-pandemic. I agree the movie didn't do as well because of the budget/income disparity (I mean, who can argue with numbers), but I wonder if that has more to do with the fact we're in a "Post-Blockbuster World" where things like Barbie and Oppenheimer are the exception and no longer the rule. Keep up the hard work! My channel's also a year old and we BOTH hit the 1K mark in that time? Twins! 💪
That’s sad. But there’s a beacon of hope for excelent cinema like this: we could see a rebirth near the next Oscar season, when I can see a chance of this movie beeing compared to Dune in some categories
Reviews have been lukewarm and 2015 was almost a decade ago, theatre chains are shuttering and pre-pandemic attendance numbers likely will never recover. It's not just this film that is performing poorly, and those numbers don't really accurately reflect the quality of the film itself (which I've not seen and have no interest in seeing), but we're witnessing a very obvious decline in the entire economy, not just of filmmaking.
This is somewhat true but even so other movies have proven to be able to make more money. It’s not enough to just be a cool action movie any more. You have to tap deeper into the culture and make something that truly moves people.
Also would you want to watch a tomb raider spinoff about a heavily featured male side character of sorts? Hard thing to market when the first mad max didn’t even approach the insanely profitable marks.
@@Stark-Cinema we're just in the peak nostalgia farming exploitation era and mining various side characters (Madame Web, anyone?) seems to be the Next Big Thing for these dead horse fuckers that run the major studios. Not that Furiosa isn't a compelling or engaging character in Fury Road, but I'm not walking around wondering what a movie about what Jimmy Olson or Lana Lang were doing with their lives while Superman was in space fighting Darkseid or Lobo might be like. Mad Max wasn't one of these unwieldy sprawling franchises, even with three films, before Fury Road came along and turned it into something else entirely. The second and third films are even almost identical in structure, essentially just amping up the intensity of the same story each time, without any real deep dives into the character of Max himself. The tragedy of his origins is established with the original film, and whatever happens after that is just throwing him into different crazy shit to get through. I think we can see parallels with the Riddick movies, where the first one was relatively grounded even within a Sci Fi setting, and the rest of the property just became more and more absurdly overblown. I love Fury Road, but that's because I love Mad Max, not because I'm interested in the inner lives of the people he's encountering...
If we take into an account Fury Road's bracket of the budget (wiki says 150-185), now with inflation it whould have been around 200-245, which makes Fury Road much more expensive. And actually you clearly can see it on the screen. CGI in Furiosa from time to time is very noticeable (especially in wide shots with big crowds or a lot of vehicles).
Great Non-Bigoted and unwoke assessment of the movie. I actually enjoyed the movie and it made me go back and watch all the others over the weekend. I really enjoyed the cinematography. I also appreciate you going to the movies and supporting the industry. I typically go to the movies twice a week in order to support the theaters. 👍👍👍
I can't wait to see it. I think it's because advertisment for it was bad. I didn't even know about the movie until the day before release. Also everyone went to the beach this weekend. Also people prefer to stream these days than spend $30 on popcorn at the theater.
Blade runner 2049 was actually good but . The green place was talked about in fury road , and they only showed 5 minutes or less in this film . World building has already been done before this film . It added nothing knew .
No need to “hide” your reviews or opinions, speak your mind brother. I enjoyed the film but some of the cgi/greenscreen within the film was horrible. That’s a fact and not an opinion.
I put thumbs up and subscribe because you brave and have speck of morality saying not siding with any side, right, left, tits, ass, all just talk the real point.
I thought the movie was ok. Not great, not bad, but definitely a little too long. I didn't see your original video but it sounds like you feel the same way. I was looking forward to this movie since I really liked Fury Road, but this movie kind of felt like a cash grab. It was kind of a lukewarm narrative that didn't seem like it knew what it wanted to do with itself. In the end it just seemed like they thought doing a spin-off with two big name performers would do well regardless of anything else, but I guess so far its not. Ignore the haters sir, your reviews are great!
This movie was awesome. So much fun to watch. Do yourself a favor, go see the movie and buy the large popcorn, there is no time to get a refill on the medium.
i thaught it was great, not as good as fury road, but great. i hate all this woke trash, but here it was not straight to your face and was smooth and whatever. the story wasnt great as fury road, but action wise ill give a slight edge to Furiosa.
Lol bigot and woke do go together more than you might think; they both the two wings of the same bird so to speak. The movie was a rushed flaming dumpster fire of an unasked film, never once does Furiosa even mourn her mother or once go into detail about ANYTHING. It's a flop because it's "girl-bossed too close to the sun".
YOUR WORK IS GOOD, ALMOST GREAT, WATCH NOVUM, WATCH MAULER, LEARN THE TECHNIQUES AND QUALITY STANDARDS OF THE MASTERS. NO BS , NO POLITICS.....FOLKS WHO BASE THEIR CHANNEL ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN ITS SUBJECT CRASH AND BURN EVERY TIME. OBJECTIVE REALITY IS THE WAY . ONLY YOU CAN CANCEL YOU .
You know when you get hit with too much visual noise? That’s what happened to me with these movies. Sorry it doesn’t line up with your opinion my friend.
bla bla bla you didn't connect/liked the film and it's perfectly ok. but guess what? millions of people did, including myself. I think it is one of the best prequel ever made, with stunning performances, action scenes, world building, character developments, and much more. and it brings back home the main theme when Dementus say to Furiosa - You are just like me. meaning, you are just an animal with one instinct left - to survive. because that is the essence of this world, and the essence of the whole saga, showing humans act while being striped of their humanity. if your argument is - this film didn't need to be made, then I don't know why you are watching any films at all. because if the film is good, it has its place and thanks god/director/studio it was made. the same logic applies to Blade Runner 2049 and many more as an example. How it does at the box office is irrelevant. and if the box office numbers are the parameter on which you rate the movies, hmm, then I'm really sorry for you.
Sorry but..... Have you never seen a Mad Max movie?? It's SUPPOSED to be over written. The dialogue isn't normal dialogue.... What are you even on about?
Hey guys - Stark here. I love you guys, and I’m sad to see this box office result despite my feelings on the film. Thanks for the love and support, make sure to drop a like!!
This guy plays games too?

Thanks man I spend every waking hour at my desk for this channel mostly, these days. So it's nice to hear. Cheers!
Never intended on seeing this movie so I really enjoyed your initial review. I enjoy playing your longer videos in the background as I work.
Most people apparently HATED it and hated me for it so to remove the headache and bad vibes, I just privated that video. Unfortunately you can’t win em all 😂 - but thanks for the love!! More long videos coming soon, maybe even tomorrow night, so stay tuned

Sad truth is that sometimes great movies fail while shit movies like fast and furious and bay transformers get thousands of sequels
The reason why this movie is good:

BINGO.
People are just not going to movie like before. Huge budget movie should be less common…
Mad max was not big either… it was pretty mediocre other than those cool cars.
I thought it was also great. Did it need to be made, prolly not. But it was a great movie and the second best Mad Max movie.
Guy it did bad because Max wasn't in it. IGNs a mad Max film doesn't need mad Max didn't sit well with fans. Also it was called Mad Max so their still living off the Max name. CORRECTION: The movie cost the Same to make but this crazy inflation makes it look like more 😂

I feel that but I’m more satisfying to know a bit more on characters and get a little sense of why they do what they do.
don’t let the haters stop you from doing your thang✨

you spoke the objective truth and got more dislikes... this is 2024 people
It wasn't as good as fury road but it wasn't bad

I actually walked out with 30 minutes left - I was just disconnected.
you're a sad clown

No offense mate but at twice a week, it sounds like you're supporting the industry on your own. 😂
You know we mean well… I hope. We’re just trynna do our part man.

Anotha day anotha banger

This movie was awesome. So much fun to watch. Do yourself a favor, go see the movie and buy the large popcorn, there is no time to get a refill on the medium.
The movie was awesome, the mixed reviews is so wild to me but no need to get so political over it
I didn’t get political at all…. Hope you’re referring to the people who were hating on my previous review lmao
You seem over invested in ths movie. How come?
I’m just invested in movies. This is the latest big movie to come out. No biggie.
@Stark-Cinema ok, well great then 👍
Wife likes mad max, i dont. Seen it sunday, the best mad max thats been made by far i think. It was actually ok and watchable.
Appreciate this comment my friend! Glad you had a nice time at the movies 🍿
The Fall Guy was better? LOL
More entertaining character moments for me.
Come on! Stand behind your bigoted wokism!
Lmaooo
i thaught it was great, not as good as fury road, but great. i hate all this woke trash, but here it was not straight to your face and was smooth and whatever. the story wasnt great as fury road, but action wise ill give a slight edge to Furiosa.

I’m talking about the way a lot of people tend to use those words - I’m sure you know what I meant… thanks for the comment 👌🥂
This movie was FIRE!!!
DONT WORRY ABOUT THE SCREAMING YATZIS, JUST DO YOU ... THE ECHO CHAMBER THEY LIVE IN DOESN'T ALLOW FOR DISSENTING OPINION TRULY YATZIESQUE BEHAVIOR .
The film is a dud. I rate it 2/5
Why tho?
the action was overbearing? ah opinion IGNORED
Ok that’s fine 😂 - I just meant I prefer more story and a mix of character moments, these kind of films don’t really move me as much.
You know when you get hit with too much visual noise? That’s what happened to me with these movies. Sorry it doesn’t line up with your opinion my friend.

I don’t rate movies on how much money they make. You got mad and missed the entire point of the video. Holy shit 😂
The movie was corny, over-written, and poorly paced.
Sorry but..... Have you never seen a Mad Max movie?? It's SUPPOSED to be over written. The dialogue isn't normal dialogue.... What are you even on about?
How is it corny or overwritten lmao
dementus doesn’t belong in the wasteland , he’s just out havin fun , spouting funny dialogue, seems like he’s in a different world , lol .
I disagree, it was a great complement to Fury Road and had some very impactful scenes.
Man stop hiding that vid. We need to get to 100k. Haters gonna hate. Lovers gonna love.
Video is public :)
