I'm not used to using long lenses like these, so this was a very fun challenge. If this will be my last video of the year then I just want to say thank you all for the support! We've gone from 5K to almost 50K this year, that's insane. Can't wait to take on some new challenges!

Who said you need a 28-50 lens for street. These shots were great and you didn’t get anyone mad for taking their photo. I would like to see more of this.

I have to say, that was a lot more relaxing than I had anticipated. Cold and wet moody street photography with lo-fi beats, urban ambient soundscapes, and that tasty shutter clicking away is just 👌🏼 so good. I really did feel as if I came along for a street session in a new city. I came for your Freewell VND review, but I’m definitely staying for more of this. Good luck closing out 2020 with 50k!
This lens is a beast. Never seen anything sharper on my camera. Totally worth buying it for around 800€ when it came out. Last weekend i was out to just shoot street with this lens and it was great!

Thank you for this POV style video, I have been considering purchasing this lens and I wanted to see how far away photographers were from subjects when using the different focal lengths and so far this is the only video that has given that POV. I think it’ll be a good addition to my collection

I actually really like this. It's fun shooting scenes with the 'wrong' type of lens. Even if your photos aren't necessarily better, they're at least different, and then you can have a sense of why it does or doesn't work. It's a nice change!
Totally agree, this is not the "best" lens for street shots. But it was fun playing around with it for sure 😄
I'm far from being a "pro" or something that comes to close to it... but, why would you consider these photos taken with the "wrong" type of lens...? Who determines right and wrong in this case? I think some of the pictures are fantastic, and I'm struggling to imagine how they could have been shot with a different lens... Just my two cents.
@@Blueridge1961 street photography is traditionally done with 35mm or maybe 50mm prime lenses. I think that's what they meant. There are too many elitists and purists in photography, especially street though, and a lot of people allergic to new concepts and different ideas. I like shooting with a telephoto downtown just as much as my 30mm. Just do whatever you like best and whatever makes your shots turn out the best!

Do you edit these shots in LR or are they all unedited?
And how do you manage your photos in general? Do you keep these shots after your POV videos by categorising them and put them to your archive or do you dump them after your shoot?

So I'm super non organised. It's something I want to work on. But after I come home I dump all my photos in lightroom and use lightroom to pick the photos. The photos I like I "import" and then lightroom automatically creates a folder for me with those photos that I picked. Then I format the SD card and pop it back in.
I can definitely make a video about that :)

Great video! I just bought an A6400 and it's nice to see what a talented photographer can do with Sony E-mount lenses! Not sure if you do comparison videos but it would be fun to see a comparison of the Sony 70-350 vs. much cheaper Sony 55-210mm some day.

A lover of street photography. I have recently bought it and I find it quiet on the heavier side especially when I try to focus and hold it in hands , my arms are strained . Is this something which you can get used to , please advise from your experience. I was almost going to return it but after a lot of reviews I don’t want to actually return it.

Probably a stupid question, but why do you take 2-4 shutter clicks instead of one if you’re not moving or changing settings in between them?

Totally agree! 10-105 is my favorite for street.

Jag har tänkt bli lite mer seriös i fotografi och videografi och jag har tänkt skaffa a6400 med denna och tamron 17-70 f2,8 som vardagliga objektiv för de har väderskydd och optisk bildstabilisering och Sigmatrion för mer seriösa grejer låter det som en bra idé och 2. Är bokeh bra på 350mm trots det höga f numret eftersom det är 350mm?
I currently use 70-200mm F4 on my A6300. I called this combination a social distancing setup!🤣
Would you recommend that lens over this one? Is it worth the extra money?
@@basdezwart2864 a 70-350mm doesn't have fix aperture and internal zoom which is not preferable IMO for a street photography. A 70-200mm for me still pretty big for a street photography but it is more manageable. If you had a chance, grab a f2.8 model like Pierre T. Lambert used in his youtube video. Much beautiful bokeh and good for low light.

I love this lens but it makes me feel like a creep especially when subjects look right at you from far away. Worth it for the great shots tho

Lightroom probably. There are some 'special' versions around somewhere 😉

May i ask what is the situation over there with street photography of people and posting them online? I live in germany and as far as i know you can get into trouble here, if you do not have permission of the individuals you are making photos of. Do you have to ask every person after taking a picture, or is it not against some laws of privacy? Or is it a grey area where it is ok as long as no one gives a damn?

Wanted to try this on my a6400. Would you suggest a 70-210mm f3.5 (vintage) lens or a 100-400mm f4.5-6.3 autofocus lens?
100-400 bc it has OSS. stabilization def needed at FLs longer than 150
I have both the 16-55 and the 70-350 for the A6400.... Best decision I've made I feel... Great work as always!!!
