Headbutts do actually count for a point deduction in real boxing, so RT almost knows what he's doing.
Do point deductions matter if you KO your opponent? I know nothing of boxing's rules. Are they illegal/penalized in MMA as well?

@@connorpickens7523 It gets a bit complicated from there, but basically, one knockdown is worth 9 points for the knocked-down boxer, and 10 for the still standing boxer, and the person with the most points wins, obviously. So ideally, because there's not a lot of room for it, you want to avoid low blows, headbutting, and anything else that loses you points. As for MMA, I'm pretty sure they follow some of the same guidelines, headbutting and the points system included.
How many point deductions do you get for ducttaping a manhole cover to your belly or using a flail to batter your competitor around?
@@jdflasky1969 Eh. Body armour is legal in some circuits, so Hippo might be safe. As for flails, everyone would probably be too busy dealing with the fact that you just attacked a man with a weapon to take any points off you.

I love the way this ends. Mac went through and defeated everyone, refusing to give up. He even managed to defeat THE Mike Tyson and become the champion, and all it took to finally ruin Mac was Glass Joe in a helmet

I love how Aaron Ryan saying "You don't look Irish" takes on a whole new meaning here.
Given that this is practically a rhythm game, RT's struggle makes a lot of sense.
The amount of time I've spent trying to perfectly memorize their patters so I can get the special kos is insane. I did do it though.
Unpopular opinion: Monkey Watch is literally the easiest game in rhythm heaven ever. I perfected it first try. I'm not saying I'm super good cause I struggle with simpler games but this one, in particular, was so easy compared to other ones, especially because I expected something difficult since apparently everyone struggles with this one.

The Joycon drift might be a hell of a problem, but if that gets fixed later on games with similar-like motion controls such as said Punch Out!! for the Wii would be amazing for the switch.

Fun fact: if you start pressing buttons during the cutscene where you get knocked out, you have a very small chance for Mac to stomp, then yell and lets you continue the fight

@@tismeah7 they were talking about the "Last Stand" after you bounce off the ropes, if you attack enouh during the animation, you'll recover from the near defeat.

@@williamsapong81 The guy they had to represent their own country is a fat guy with a maple syrup addiction who lives out in the forest. They do it to themselves too.
While I have never played, my blind friend beat the game several times over. He hated the illusion guy, since it requires a visual to know where to dodge. He'd ask me to sit there and when that guy came up to mention where the real one was.

@@lucano2582 Aran Ryan was actually a clean boxer in his debut game, Super Punch Out. In Wii, however, he would have 20 infractions to his name, and he is indeed, in my opinion at least, on every drug and then some.

The rules of the WVBA are basically "Just wear gloves, anything else goes" spitting in eyes, kicking, teleportation, and throwing balls are all fair game
@@SgtKOnyx His TD match has him fight swinging a glove tied by a rope, and when goes down, he tries to get one more hit in with said weapon before hitting the ground.
The rules are pretty much:
-gloves required
-after 100 losses,a fighter is allowed headgear.
-stay in the ring
-if a champion wants to retire, they must first lose three matches, then thier retirement will be accepted

Mr. Sandman is actually separate from Mike Tyson. They were both in the original NES game.

The closest they came to a Mike Tyson stand in was probably in super punch out for the SNES, where the final boss is nick bruiser.
Mr Sandman is actually based off of Smokin' Joe Frazier.
He looks like his design is partially Tyson, part Frazier, and part Ali [maybe some heyday era Foreman]
In Mike Tyson's Punch Out!, the last boss was Mike Tyson, who appeared right after Macho Man. Mike Tyson had only licensed his likeness for three years, however, so afterwards they re-released the game as "Punch Out!" without the "Mike Tyson's" and replaced the final boss with "Mr. Dream", although he had the same moves and was basically a re-skin. Sandman was actually before Macho Man, and was an easier character to beat.

Hondo has an animation between rounds in this game where he reads Sailor Moon manga because he's from Japan. It's angled so that the player can't actually see it, so it was basically an inside joke for the devs. However, this was discovered through hacking and Nintendo actually got sued for it. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.
Also Soda Popinkski was originally called Vodka Drunkenski in Punch Out on the NES because of Russian stereotypes about over drinking Vodka. It got censored later on for obvious reasons.
Edit: Correction. They almost got sued but they licensed it instead.
Nintendo wasn’t sued for it, they pre-emptively paid to license the manga so they wouldn’t be sued.
