Just when I think I am getting a handle on the workings of Blender you come along with this and I sadly realize I don't know shit.....a great tutorial. Thanks!
Those hardcore blender tut's almost always use a soften voice in combination with a light music background song to mask the incredible complexity of the tasks at hand.
I am starting to think the "One Ring To Rule Them All" Video Tutorial will be one that explains every node and goes on to demonstrate it in practicality. EVERY node in the Animation Nodes App-on. Even if it that video Series takes 3 or 9 months to compile. Every - single - Node.
The mind is blown out after seeing how complex and flexible these nodes are. It is very interesting, but I can see where having an A.I. to handle these types of processes will liberate the overwhelmed digital artist in the future.
Yet another super cool tutorial! I love your tutorials - so easy to follow. I'm always left scratching my head over how you manage to figure these techniques out.
EDIT: "Objects from group" node has been replaced with "Collection Info" node in later versions of animation nodes Thanks for the awesome tutorial, this method of building splines between points is exactly what I was looking for
This is a really smart workflow. It could be interesting to feed CSV data in, i.e. latitude and longitude pairs as start and end points for the curves - or something like that. Very interesting for statistical animations.

Doing that right now with airports and some flights
Love the tutorial, but I'm having problem with (geometry node) trying it on the new blender version. I will really appreciate it if you can update the tutorial on the new blender version
Excellent! Well made, as usual. If you have time, you should make a tutorial about how to export this sort of scene to run on a renderfarm for more professional projects! It's difficult to find a way to make such an incredible system work without animation nodes, and being able to convert the finished project into a file which can run on any blender instance would be valuable!
Прикольно) Я бы такое делал часов 9 , без этих функций , всё в ручную , а тут минут за 20 - 40 можно справиться Спасибо , я узнал о новых функциях в Blender
Well im stuck. Im doing this in blender 3.0 .1 but if i delete the particle system all the points and therefore the curves also disappear. How come that yours stays?
I'm trying to have more control in the curvature of start points: When I tryed to use "Smooth benzier" the curve anchored on Earth don't follow the height, so I need to set the smooth and arch height very low to avoid this distortion (but I want more acentuated and high arcs) There is a away to do that? I marked "Cyclic" on "Spline From Points" node, but it doesn't do the desired result (the only thing thats does is to close a circle underneath the Earth) Its a bit abstract trying to explain my problem without images, but basically I want to generate more open and more high arcs (and avoid the arc start being generated to paralel to the ground)
I get stuck at 4:01 min. When you load the image, it appears on the object as red/blue. It doesn't happen for me. Tried to follow step by step you'r tut for 3 times, but still don't get the result
I had the same issue. The problem is just that you have to move up the X value on the Custom Curve all the sphere has to be read before applying the map, then solved, Good look.
Great tutorial, just one question, why is my UV unwrap completely different? Noob question really are there different methods I am unaware of? Also it seems to do this zig zag unwrap automatically. Thanks for help in advance. Sorry, got ahead of myself, all working, just can’t get her animation to work. My fault most likely as this tutorial is way above my abilities right now...
Hi, great tutorial. I managed to make it on 2.8 even if the particle node doesn't work yet. But the curvature on the resulting splines is not the same as on 2.79. I didn't find a way to change it. Maybe it's the problem comes form blender 2.8 Any help ?
I managed to do it on Blender 2.8 with AN2.1, but it does display any curve, I used the viewer to check where comes the problem, it seems that there is problem from the start with the Particules form object node or Particule data node, the output Locations gives me 0 length (empty list ) on the viewer, any Help ?

Really nicely paced: it goes along at quite a clip, but not so fast that you can't keep up. Great tutorial, thank you!

thanks. this saved my day.
Thank you sir, this saved the day, i was struggling with that one trying everything

you can use density
This is gold! So many great techniques in one video.
Oh yeah! I can do 3D UV-Mapping now! Thank you sir!
Thank youuu! Great tutorial, much easier compared to others that I've tried

Only a small fault, the earth turns from left to right xD
After a job, so complex, the most obvious escapes you;)
Even so, good tutorial. keep it up!
Lmao! That's where you come in. Correct it. Upload it and title it "Earth Curves - Correct rotation Edition" Lol.

ALways wondered how to use a black and white mask to cut out a mesh, now i know, thankyou thankyou thankyou :)

This blew my mind. Nice work!
Whoa...I just started working with these nodes and couldn't figure out how to make a vid out of it, this just solved that!
Brilliant as always, man! Thanks for another awesome tutorial.
You're a genius! Thanks for the tutorial
Great tutorial thank you.
I have a prolem with the Curves not showing up in 2.80 It might be due to the AN Plugin is Still in Development...
wow, that was great, thanks
Excellent, do you know if you can connect the lines to existing dots on the world?

Same here!
Got it. Make sure to set the custom curve as falloff type :)
I had the same issue. The problem is just that you have to move up the X value on the Custom Curve all the sphere has to be read before applying the map, then solved, Good look.
nice tut .. i learned a lot
Hi there. Please could you recreate this tutorial for Blender 2.8, it would be really helpful for newbies to Blender like me!
Good tutorial, thanks!
WTH!!! I did this kind of animation for a client just two weeks ago... I did everything manually :(
but your version doesn't launch planes from the void of the sahara, i guess...
Great work!!
I tried it in blender 2.80 , it does dispaly any curve?
Is it compatible with AN 2.1 and blender 2.80 ?
very nice! congrats!
wow blender in the past was so complicated
na čechy dost hodně moc dobrý díky...
skvělá práce !
Very, very procedurally!
It sure is, Hail to AN!
nice work
Nádhera!
is there a way to export this as an glTF file ? i cant find a way to export it with the animation
bro can you do this in blender 2.8 please
4.10 min what can i do if in my case the continents are blue color and ocenas are red so that the oceans remain and continents disappear?
Great tutorial, just one question, why is my UV unwrap completely different? Noob question really are there different methods I am unaware of? Also it seems to do this zig zag unwrap automatically. Thanks for help in advance.

Do not know what I am missing, but cannot get the continents displayed in red (min 4:00). I am using Blender 2.8
Me too
@@arcanoushoankan1834 i got it done wut is ur problem if i can solve it for ya
same here, I don't get it
@@siemensohm believe me about the continent use wireframe the problem is only in the viewport but it will render well
@@user-tl8lm9pc3x oh okay, thank you, I will try it again
No links in the description.
This video and the result is great, very nice, but, Where to learn all the functions of those animation nodes and how to combine them?
can this be integrated into web
thanks!!!
Hey! and how to make that each state was a separate object?
I made a mistake somewhere and I can not find one :( so sad
Hi where to get the texture?
Awesome work! Would it be possible to add a taper object to the arcs?
Ah, found it myself - in the arcs nodetree you can add it in the curve object output node :)
dude at 3:33 how do you change the direction? I mean what hotkey do you use so that the sphere projection will appear?
This is awesome. Please keep making cool stuff. Does anyone know of a good place to go to learn about animation nodes?
Anyone know where to find the black and white map pic? Most I've found don't have Antarctica.. Thanks
Hi. please could you explain how you get all the arcs into a group. Mine are all separate instances, so I can't select by Group. Thx.
same problem, made a bunch of groups even manually selected and nothing :)
It's in 14:53 > select one > press [Shift+G] > choose "Type" (NOT Group!!!) > press [Ctrl+G] > it's done
@@WiresoulStudio I think that its because the new update had taken out the group option and replaced it with collections... I'm stuck there now too
Doesn't work on Blender 3.1 anymore
очень круто
can you make in blender 2.9
Hi, great tutorial.
I managed to make it on 2.8 even if the particle node doesn't work yet.
But the curvature on the resulting splines is not the same as on 2.79.
I didn't find a way to change it. Maybe it's the problem comes form blender 2.8
Any help ?
particle node doesn't work yet?
it is working as of now I downloaded AN back on 20/3 and with that build it is working
I feel like cave man!
we need github-like site to share our node setups
I managed to do it on Blender 2.8 with AN2.1, but it does display any curve, I used the viewer to check where comes the problem, it seems that there is problem from the start with the Particules form object node or Particule data node, the output Locations gives me 0 length (empty list ) on the viewer, any Help ?
I get the same issue! :/
I have the same problem. did you find a solution?
How did you do it? Because after 4:00 it didn't work for me.
Newb questions: how did you get the "Add Ico Sphere" options appear in a floating window instead of the left-hand Tool panel?
Shift + A . That's the 'Add Object' shortcut.
its an addon that you need to enable
after pressing U press F6
Can i have a world map file??
in my mind : use new object and wireframe modifier it or use a pattern texture for texturing
him : only put some node
me : :o
Not good for 4.0
How to give the seperated object multiple materials?
You're from czech reoublic? :D
Czech?
