Great tutorials! I've studied and practiced the technique behind what makes a dipping shot successful, and it's been excluded from this video. I've actually never seen it included in any dipping tutorials. Many don't realize the physics behind why the dipping technique works. A successful dipping shot can be hit many different ways, with different parts of the foot, and different approaches to the ball. The one common factor is your swing path. Think of your swing path as a U shape. Your leg swings back, then swings down, through, and then swings up. For all other kicking techniques, we learn to strike the ball at the very bottom of the swing path, as our foot is in-between swinging down and up. The key difference for hitting a dipping shot, is that you want your foot to be just starting its upward swing. This upwards motion is what gives you the ability to generate top spin. The best way this can be demonstrated, is to mindfully take your shot acting as if the ball is one inch further back than it really is. This will allow you to have the bottom of your swing path be one inch behind the ball, and then you will catch the ball on your upstroke and generate spin. You hit the ball on your upswing in your example even if you didn't realize it. Cracking shot btw. This is a bit difficult to explain over text, but it's a huge breakthrough imo that I've never heard taught on a tutorial. I've considered making my own tutorial for it.
That knuckleball was sweet! I’ve never been able to do that technique with the side foot because I don’t have the mobility for it and whenever I try that I get a sidespin. I am more used to cr7/ hulk laces technique but the David Luiz technique is so good for free kicks
Honorable mentions: the toe poke haha and the laced sliders (will travel about 6 inches off the pitch all the way into the net/can also be used as a long range through ball technique).
For the trivela, I would recomend YT some of Nelinho, Roberto Carlos, Quaresma as examples of variations of its use. Once you master the trivela, you never look back.
If you could add a chip shot video or one on one main scenarios and the technique to use would be great! Most complete shooting vid I've come across by far
My biggest weakness is hitting it with power with a tight angle on my strong foot side. Say you're right-footed and coming from an angle like at your power section at 4:59 , but even further to the right (diagonal to the goal, approaching from outside the box). How do you strike the ball or bend the ankle in the right way to generate power, without it being an awkward strike? Would love to hear you cover this!! From the opposite side or center of the goal I have no issues, whether it be power or finesse. Thanks!
To be honest if I’m that wide I would always use the inside of my foot. To generate more power your speed up to the ball is really important. Would recommend running up faster to the ball and the follow through being really strong across your body. My ‘why your not scoring goals’ covers this a little bit but will definitely do an extra video on it
@@1to1footballtrainingcouk Yeah, honestly it's usually so uncomfortable to me that I either trivela if I want to shoot, or just slot it across the box for someone else. But I see professionals of course look comfortable in this kind of angle, generating power. It made me wonder if maybe my ankle isn't getting the range of motion it needs to wrap around the inside like you mentioned, or what.
An Excellent video tutorial and much needed as well. The one thing people need to know and understand about the trivelas is that primarily there are 2 different variations of the trivela. One is used my modric most of the times in which the ball not only has decent spin but it also it covers a long distance and stays in the air for a long time whereas the second variation which has more spin as compared to the first one and power(if wanted on the ball) which has been used by de bruyne alot of the times when he wants to swerve the ball across the defenders to his teammates. Quaresma on the other side has used both of them, for the first variation one should get under the ball with the outside of his foot and make sure that his body is balanced somewhere above the ball and on the side as well(but make sure u don't hit the ball with the side of your foot and make it more like a chip) , and for the second variation depending on how much spin one needs to generate they should strike the ball from the side somewhere between their laces and outside of the foot.
Another great tip for the top spin shot if the inside foot is hard, you can hit the ball closer to the toe, also almost lunge for it, lean back then as you swing up to clip the edge of the ball, snap the upper body over the ball.
Personally would never recommend a contact point nearer the toe for less power. Would just do a smaller back lift. Shooting around the toe is a no go for me but if it works for you great! 💪👊
@@1to1footballtrainingcouk Yeah I wouldn’t say it’s on the toe, just a bit closer to it than the contact point in the video, pretty much the point just before the base of the big toe.
If you want more height on your power shot, you have to follow through a bit more, whilst keeping your body down. A really compact swing with more follow through
Thank you! Have been watching for a while now, shooting has never been my strength, but recently having starting to learn the top spin shot, I've been able to improve massively. Then watched this video, went outside in garden and did all these techniques and was able to do them and score much more consistently now knowing how to do it properly! Also did some knuckleball shots with this technique and consistency massively improved that too (was taking these shots 16-23yrds out) Do you think you could do a video on the top spin shot technique that all the pros do (and a bit like that Dalot goal in the FA Cup vs Wigan for e.g) Have gotten better at this recently but can definitely improve on it further
Great video. Liked and Subscribed. I was wondering if you could make a video about juggling. I have seen so many videos but I cant understand. I'd appreciate if you could make a video about juggling
Good video. What about the heel strike? (Lots of different names for this one … I mean the foot moving away from the toes and striking the ball with your heel either facing the ball or with your back to the ball) been seeing a lot of it lately in Sunday leagues with great effect.
I think everyone messes up in the contact area of the ball and the foot. You have mentioned both in this video please continue to make video s like this
I have a question about first technique, Whenever I try to hit a Finense Shot or try to curl the ball instead of going to Far Post corner it goes outside of the near post and I also don't get height on it. Any suggestions? What Am I doing wrong?
I think you could get more power in your powershots. I dont know exactly what it is, but it looks to me like you're using sort of a grasscutter technique rather than a full laces powershot.
It feels really uncomfortable when I dont shoot with the part right before the toes. The ball always rolls on the ground or I just end up hitting the ground with my foot and the ball just bounces akwardly up to 2 meters far. What am I doing wrong?
Try going back to basics with a ball and a wall. Repetition of good contact with the inside of your foot is a good place to start. Additionally try going through lifting that left arm up for better body shape and balance 💪
Close the striker down. Don’t allow them time and space to adjust their body for a banger into the top corner. Once they hit it, neither you nor the keeper can do anything about it. If you take that shot anywhere to your body, expect major bruises.
Just wanted to share this. JESUS CHRIST died for you on a cross for our sins. 3 days after his death he resurrected and was, is, and will be The TRUE LIVING GOD. In a prayer repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and also ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to come into you in that same prayer as well. Have FAITH in CHRIST. Tje toes run up does nothing for the actual shootong technique. The deciding factor for a knuckleball is where you hit the ball to not impart any spin on it and let the air carry it. Just cuz Ronaldo does it doesnt mean its essential to the technique. You also dont have to spread your legs before your run up...
Couldn’t disagree more. Look at Rashford Ronaldo Kane de Bruyne I can go on. all involves some rise and fall on the run up. And to clarify this isn’t a knuckle ball as I said in the video

I've been trying to learn this shot recently too, and have gotten much better at it though still trying to get it more consistent

I've seen Gareth Bale explain this in a vid collab where he explained that he achieves this swing by pulling his knee up as he strikes through.

that’s a situational thing to do. Rule of thumb is to never do that heel flick, unless you are certain it will work. Its especially bad as a shot

Power shots massively overrated. Don’t even reccomend using them

🤣
I find it very hard to hit the ball with the correct place on my foot and when I do it just goes so high, how do I fix this?
Same I usually hit the ball dead center and focus on the ball not the goal. Let me know if this helps
Focus on your standing foot being in the correct position next to the ball

Run up faster the the ball and try to keep your body upright not leaning too far forward 👌
