I had an injen intake and the stock plastic inlet broke as i was on the highway and the little $100 part caused my engine to run lean and crack cyl #1. lucky car was under warranty but I feel this part is a must if u have upgraded intake on the n20/26
I did the install with the MSI intake and it was simple. The hardest thing was getting that 10ml nut on, I couldn’t get my wrench on it because the aluminum pipe is too thick, just tightened it with my fingers. The easiest way to get the PCV pipe on is disconnect it from the top first sand it is super easy to get it to click in. Then just click it back in the top after you clamp the inlet in
Thanks. I took it to a place that said parts were $250, and labor was $1500 lol. Figured I’d give it a shot no matter how hard it is because $1500 labor seems absurd to me for something they claimed they can fix in “an hour or 2”
Might get lost in the comments. If you are coming to this, when unplugging the stacked vacuum line. Be careful when pulling them out if you still have the stock inlet. The plastic is very brittle and it can just snap off. Especially if you have a higher mileage.
Quick question, do you know what the top stacked vacuum lines function is? I removed my air box the other day and to my surprise I only have the bottom vacuum line on the inlet. It’s plugged by a rubber piece, not only that but I have the top vacuum line is present but dangling in my engine bay
How this he put that metal piece so easy? I tried putting it so many times. I bought that piece on urotuning and it fits in my n20. The only hard piece would be the black ring around it. It’s not going in all the way. I need help lol
Im struggling with the same thing! He makes it seem like you could just *place* it in. But the O-Ring made it to where I had to wrestle it in. Only to still have the boost leak. Its in but not all the way i think.
Show Me What I Need To Know Being metal IS the advantage. There's no give with metal so you won't lose any performance that way. Metal is also more durable and stronger than plastic. If you're adding performance parts to your engine, you want to replace all the weak plastic oem parts you can. 😉
Show Me What I Need To Know, I'd like to know the gains too. To say reduced lag and improves performance is a broad statement, sorry Brian. Great video, make everything look very doable.
According to MST's website - this intake runs $188 and adds between 1 and 4 HP/TQ across the power band. There are dyno charts on their site. www.mst-performance.com/products/mst-bmw-n2026-20t-turbo-inlet-pipe
What I don't like on BMW's is that they used so many plastic parts! It wears out so quickly as they gets old! Thanks Brian for sharing good parts and how-to videos!
If you had to guess how much hp would an inked intake, axle back exhaust, bms stage 1 tune, intake inlet, turbo pipe, charge pipe and intercooler make on an n26?
More than 1 HP, less than 100 HP, lol. They say roughly 5. It's one of those parts that you don't strictly do for the horsepower number. The factory piece is a piece of junk. We've had people tell us that the vacuum line cracks off and as you can see it's tiny, flimsy, and doesn't have good flow. Once you tune your car with BootMod3 is when you really want that reduction in turbo lag, but this is also a good "insurance policy" for the N20/N26, just like a chargepipe is on the N55
If you see this, I just did this install myself and ran into this issue. Ultimately what ended up working was to come at it from a slight angle, get it in far enough to work on the 10mm bolt to help hold it in place, then use a flathead screwdriver to push in the O-Ring. Keep pushing and tightening the bolt, and eventually you'll get there
plastic inlet was already split when I took airbox off, bad news is I split the breather that comes from the front of engine trying to clip it back in to the new elbow so now I have to wait for the dealer to order one in for me :(
My inlet has snapped off while being fastened, and I'm wondering if you have any tips of removing the snapped of piece from the turbo? The part that is snapped off is the "neck", where you clamp the turbo to.
What sensor did you unplug on the inlet? Mine won’t clip in anymore after I put in my new boost and charge pipes. The tab and clip aren’t broken but it won’t go all the way down and clip in anymore.
Man... what if the entire screw comes out? the 10 mm nut came out along with the flange and the other nut on the back. Don't know what to do anymore, im stuck.
hey brian whats that connection called that goes into the turbo inlet its that tube one i kinda broke mines taking it off and tried to improvise the best i can but i need to order that part asap
I actually dropped the nut and ended up getting a different one when I installed my FTP motorsports inlet. I used an endoscope the 2nd time around to line it up putting things back together and it helped a lot. I think it's easier to get to the nut from the underside, anyways it was for me.
I bought this for my F30 N20 but had a lot of issues because the aluminum pipe is thick and doesn't let me use the ratchet straight on. I think I'm going to try to jack the car and go from underneath. Any suggestions?
I think the aluminum piece it actually two. The edge where the bolt goes in screws out from the barrel. Do the price where the bolt goes in first and then screw the barrel in. I had the same issue
no. this is where the air from outside enters the turbo/engine. the exhaust gas is used to spin a turbine that compresses the air this part sends through. hope this helps
Kies, I have searched all over the internet and haven't been able to find a comparison of the n20 and n47 engine, i am curious in the build differences as i would like to buy performance parts for my engine but do not know which parts can be taken from the has engines, as there doesnt seem to be a large base of parts for the diesel n47. Any help would be appreciated

We’ve actually been hearing quite a bit about the stock inlet failing!
@@KiesMotorsports It blew up my turbo after a piece broke off and got ingested..... $4000 later.......
same setup same thing is happening i just had to buy a inlet and hopefully my car starts
Thank you for bringing back N20/26 DIY videos!
Doing this next foshoooo. Wish I would’ve nabbed it before I threw my mst intake on!
I knocked 2 birds with one stone lucky
tried doing both couldnt find/see the 10mm nut on the inlet so gave up and just installed the intake lol
Upgraded Inlets are always a great gain! Perfect DIY 👍🏻
Yea man!
Ily bmw fanatic
You should make a GFB diverter valve install video!

Outstanding video!! Keep up the good work💪🏽

Great video as always Brian! What kind of games would you be expecting horsepower and torque with this?
Thank you brother. I did order it also for my f30 too... you rock✌️👍🤝
Other than being metal, what are the advantages?
Show Me What I Need To Know Being metal IS the advantage. There's no give with metal so you won't lose any performance that way. Metal is also more durable and stronger than plastic. If you're adding performance parts to your engine, you want to replace all the weak plastic oem parts you can. 😉

Looked like the inlet diameter was reduced too. Maybe that reduces turbo lag??? Just a guess
the part on the stock intake that bolts to the turbo is glued to the rest of the inlet
hey brian! you should add a carbon fiber roof spoiler for your car and then do a tutorial! it looks amazing on my f30!!
They need to make one for the n55 🙏🏼
What I don't like on BMW's is that they used so many plastic parts! It wears out so quickly as they gets old! Thanks Brian for sharing good parts and how-to videos!
On the 2014 F32 the screws that hold the diverter valve are t30 not 4mm hex makes a big difference in getting that top back bolt out
I saw to videos that help me alot changin
If you had to guess how much hp would an inked intake, axle back exhaust, bms stage 1 tune, intake inlet, turbo pipe, charge pipe and intercooler make on an n26?
Difference in build quality for sure but wouldn't expect much better flow.
I did this install, and there was oil residue on my turbo where it connects to the inlet is that normal?
carlosskrr mine was like that too
Nice!! But like how many HP increases ?
More than 1 HP, less than 100 HP, lol. They say roughly 5. It's one of those parts that you don't strictly do for the horsepower number. The factory piece is a piece of junk. What should I do if the aluminum pipe can’t enter inside the turbo because the o ring is to bulky ?
I’m having the same issue, u figure it out?

will this work with an afe intake?
Yes just all inlet piprs are the same on n20/26
Bought my turbo inlet & Er charge pipe!
great video
plastic inlet was already split when I took airbox off, bad news is I split the breather that comes from the front of engine trying to clip it back in to the new elbow so now I have to wait for the dealer to order one in for me :(
If that inlet is a bit loose will it trigger an engine code?
Thank you
stock car can install ftp inlet pipe without changing charge pipe and boost pipe?
2012 528i ?
My inlet has snapped off while being fastened, and I'm wondering if you have any tips of removing the snapped of piece from the turbo? The part that is snapped off is the "neck", where you clamp the turbo to.
how would this install be different if you had oil catch can installed?
Are you ever gonna go big turbo, Brian ???
Why hasn’t keis done an oil catch can yet I went with the mishimoto one
Awesome product just installed it and my car run way harder
What sensor did you unplug on the inlet? Mine won’t clip in anymore after I put in my new boost and charge pipes. The tab and clip aren’t broken but it won’t go all the way down and clip in anymore.
will the mst turbo inlet pipe work with a cts turbo intake?
Hi Brien. Where do I buy this intake? F30 2013 bmw 2.0. Malaysia
I actually just ordered from Kies a MST inlet and air intake.. Will these throw a check engine light or cause the car not to pass emissions?
The inlet shouldn’t, but the intake might. Depends on the regulations of your state and if the intake is CAARB exempt or not.
Bryan does this inlet pipe fit a AEM intake??? I already have bough charge pipes an intercooler from your website awesome deals
Yes, it fits!
Sweet thank you so much for the reply ima order inlet pipe right now
Man... what if the entire screw comes out? the 10 mm nut came out along with the flange and the other nut on the back. Don't know what to do anymore, im stuck.
What did you end sup doing to fix it? Same problem here
you da man
😀😀👍🏼
With this part work with an AFE stage 2 intake?
I’m trying to buy MST air intake for my 335i 2015, would that I take work for it? Cuz when I’m trying to buy it it says only for years 2012-14
Isn’t that engine petty much the same as what the 320D E92 have ?
Done mine today and that little screw is a SOB
Is this compatible for a F10 N20 motor?
Will the inlet work with eventuri
Hey Bryan I have the AWE f30 carbon fiber intake do you think that this inlet will work with that intake? Thanks
Yea! It will work great!
hey brian whats that connection called that goes into the turbo inlet its that tube one i kinda broke mines taking it off and tried to improvise the best i can but i need to order that part asap
Have you figured it out? Was wondering if it’s safe to drive w/o
Are there any mods for a 2012 528i? Can't really find shit.
that 10mm nut is extremely hard to get to. I'm waiting for my endoscope from amazon to arrive so it can guide my socket in.
Yea, it’s hard to see. I use my phone to help guide it in place
I actually dropped the nut and ended up getting a different one when I installed my FTP motorsports inlet. I used an endoscope the 2nd time around to line it up putting things back together and it helped a lot. I think it's easier to get to the nut from the underside, anyways it was for me.
Well this fit 2017 330i?
Would this be compatible with a different type of aftermarket intake like an injen?
I believe he mentions that it will.
???
im gonna do an install vid on it for the injen in a week
Yes, you can use it with any intake
00:25...works with Injen!!!
I bought this for my F30 N20 but had a lot of issues because the aluminum pipe is thick and doesn't let me use the ratchet straight on. I think I'm going to try to jack the car and go from underneath. Any suggestions?

Where can i get this?
Hello i am from jordan i own a car f30 316i how can i buy air antake
i could not find that 10mm nut for the life of me, its on the bottom right side of the inlet correct?
It's about the 3 o'clock position
Where i can buy this inlet&filter box like on this video?
Kiesmotorsports.com 👍🏼
Does this fix a x1 2014
Does anybody know what the purpose of this part is? Is this where the exhaust enters the turbo?
no. this is where the air from outside enters the turbo/engine. the exhaust gas is used to spin a turbine that compresses the air this part sends through. hope this helps
sold out on mst website for the N20 :/
Click the link in the description
Mst website sells for $188 will you honor that price?
Our price includes the shipping cost, that's why it's a little higher. If you bought direct, you would most likely pay more
Possible to retrofit highbeam assistance on f22 or f30?
Kies, I have searched all over the internet and haven't been able to find a comparison of the n20 and n47 engine, i am curious in the build differences as i would like to buy performance parts for my engine but do not know which parts can be taken from the has engines, as there doesnt seem to be a large base of parts for the diesel n47. Any help would be appreciated
You’ll need n47 specific parts if it’s for performance
Will this go on the 320d F30 2017 with B47 engine?
What about n55s? :(
You know I'm asking them to make one :)
first
would that fit a F22 2 series 65plate??
Do these function with a Mishimoto intake?
Does this fit the z4?
