I have a Springfield M1A, and although I have used it hunting, it's not my first choice and not exactly what I bought it for. I am sure the rifles on this video are fine hunting rifles, I think I will keep my two primary .308 hunting rifles. One, a Winchester Model 70 featherweight (bought in early 80's) I actually gave to my son last year, and the Ruger Gunsite Scout (bought in 2012) which is my primary deer hunting rifle now. Both are accurate and dependable.

Wow! I would have included the s&w m&p 10 308 above a few of these! Especially the Ruger American! This is definitely a biased based video! They are definitely getting paid to bring attention to each one of these.
It's good close range, medium range, long range. How short, long, light, heavy, whatever effects it as far as use in whatever situation ( close quarters inside, outside building) doesn't effect what the 308 will do. ( There is no perfect rifle for every situation).
No offense com on what kind of ? Is that acouse the ar 10 military is better cause a war comat fifle .and the 308 bolt is hunting or if it comes to it when shtf it can also you for sniper .hope that answers your?
What qualifies as "best"? What were your criteria, and how did each rifle rate against them? How is this video not just a compilation of rifle company ads? 100% opinion from completely biased sources. This is a lazy way to do a "top 5" video since you don't have to actually perform any testing, criteria determination, etc.
The FN-FAL also makes a good hunting rifle as long as it is the semi-auto version only and will not run full-auto as that function is not needed with hunting game such as deer, moose, elk, etc..
@@daylanbrawley631 Who says that. Some of them might be where they were mistreated through use by past owners or just put together in a sloppy manner. If they are adjusted correctly, bedded correctly and the barrel is not bent it should be an accurate weapon to around 1000 yards or so with the right optics.

That 'hex lock' on the savage. ball bearing tent pole looking bolt lock... nope lol. Hell no, what were they thinking? Too much to get gummed up and go wrong. How about I just turn a bolt instead of dealing with or worrying about ball bearings. There's a reason really complicated designs don't tend to last very long. Look at the mosin nagant 91/30 that rife will be 200 years old in my lifetime and still a very dependable straight shooting rife with minimal servicing. Because it's simple. You would have to be cleaning those bearings constantly. Im Sorry but the engineer in me is just astonished that design made it into full production.
Most of those rifles are not for hunting apart from the bolt action ones, AR platform is more for target practice. You left out the best rifles for hunting “ SAKO “ for example
What a fake video on the M14 !!! Each time I saw dust after impacting the ground at 9 o'clock, then the pup up slowly moving back and up again like a remote control dummy. Come on guys ! You can shoot better than faking hits !!!
No way a Springfield made this list. Horrible shooting weapon. My mini-14 is more accurate. Sold my Springfield 6 months after I bought it. Worst accuracy gun I ever spent good money on. At the price point it should be good. Just my experience from an old man in Florida.

I bought this ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL for the rats in my backyard. From my patio to the rat zone is 34 feet, so that's the distance I have been practicing at. I'm not the steadiest shot, but right out of the box on my first try it was pretty good. The red bulls eye in the picture is 1.5 inches wide to give you some perspective on the MY accuracy. I think with a little more practice, this gun will get the job done.Interesting that the grouping at the top of the bullseye is with the gun resting on the back of a chair, and the lower group is without any support. Again, I think the main issue here is ME. The scope image is really good, and I think if I were steady it would really be accurate at this distance.I have not actually shot a varmint with it, so I can't say whether it's powerful enough to kill a rat, but it goes right through the half inch plywood I'm using as a backstop. I have a concrete block behind that in case you were wondering. It doesn't go through that of course. But I definitely think it's strong enough for rats, squirrels, etc.The stock is plastic, but the gun feels solid and well built. It takes some effort to crack the barrel to load it, but that's expected with a powerful air rifle. The noise is what I expected. It's not quiet.I say it's a good value for $100. Varmints or no varmints, I'm having fun killing paper.
