    Love my Note Air 3C!!! Definitely would not mind if it had the cleaner design of the remarkable, but its functionality and utility make it perfect for me and my needs!

      Yes, the design of the reMarkable is meaningful. However the Air 3C has a lot to offer.

      @@bodendorfer Apps for books, comic, and manga reading, etc. and apps for writing are the key features for me. If the RMPP had those I’d be sold! The keyboard attachment is amazing but without basic word processing needs like spell check or even a way to easily send your written work to an application like google docs is such a huge miss that I can’t justify that beautiful and exceedingly expensive keyboard. If the NA3C stripped back its features to those I think that would be great too, however because it’s soo bad at using other applications (a weird compliment I know) I have never been tempted to add them. I love not having to jump through hoops to get my notes, docs, and thoughts to other applications. It’s direct integration with my pre-existing systems is great! I just wish it looked more like the RMPP.

    Thanks for the review! I've been an RM2 user for a few years and love it. The one thing I missed going from my paper notebooks and planner was the ability to use color. I think I'm going to stick with the Remarkable family and try the Paper Pro. I've seen other reviews complaining about flashing but I think I need to try it for myself. I'm not an artist who will draw on it or look at comics. It's a paper notebook and planner replacement for me. Can't beat the 100 day risk free return...esp at that price point!

    For the Price of a Remarkable, you can get a Boox and an iPad. I personally have the Boox Go 10.3 and iPad Air. The value for me is using apps that I can use, like Obsidian, for Note-taking on all of my devices perfectly synced. No limitations, if I'm working with color on a chart use the iPad. If I'm reading a book and want to take notes in split-screen I can use the boox. Remarkable, as beautiful as it is, is just too limited in functionality.

      I want to pick up an e ink tablet, and i cant seem to understand how everyone so far has been using monochrome, i am looking for a colour one for writing and reading pdfs for work. I already own an iPad Pro as well but the writing experience is limited for me there. How do you manage to get away using monochrome? doesnt it get annoying not being able to highlight etc

    I have many color PDFs (programming books) with text and many images, and I occasionally take notes on them. I frequently swipe or scroll through pages to search and find information.
    I like the reMarkable Paper Pro colors, but the flickering seems annoying.
    Could you test this scenario? Scrolling through a mixed PDF with images and black text?
    I also think a side-by-side comparison between : these two devices + a real piece of printed paper + a LED tablet (iPad/Samsung etc.) would help people decide better.
    What do you think ? :)

    Boox violates GPL, because they modified open sourced android kernel and doesn't open the code they inserted in it. So they are closed sources as well

    I just got the rm2 and what was a bit disappointing is the lack of integration with OneDrive, OneNote etc. Yes you can give remarkable access to your personal OneDrive, but its not a very seamless experience, and you have to shuffle files all over the place. Which take fokus. Its almost as easy to use your phone to take pictures of your notebook and store them directly in OneDrive. But apart from that it is a nice experience.

    Onxy BOOX is a subdued tablet. reMarkable Paper Pro is a jazzed-up notebook. I would choose the reMarkable Paper Pro because it is for serious notetakers, and readers. It could replace all your notebooks for school. Perhaps even your schoolbooks!

    Onxy is the jack of all trades and master of none . Remarkable is the master of one . Remarkable seems like a perfect fit for people who have a hard time on getting focused . Hence why some people have to go to librarys to get focused etc .. i have the samsung galaxy tab 7plus and its obviously feature rich and has a pen. I tried taking notes on various note apps . Its just so many damn features i will never use . Plus the pen on glass feeling to me doesnt feel good to take notes on. Thinking on trading in the android tablet life and going full remarkable

    Both are truly remarkable devices, no pun intended, and I was sold on the PaperPro UNTIL I found out that there was no way to transfer files directly from the tablet onto a connected USB-C thumb drive! Even though I prefer the Remarkable, the Boox devices allows users to save their files onto a micro-SD card or an OTG thumb drive. Too bad Remarkable did not integrate this ability.

    The Remarkable Pro has really good color reproduction. Its screen is much more appealing, too. But its offered feature set is not matched with Boox.

    • @bodendorfer
      @bodendorfer  2 месяца назад +1

      It really boils down to what you want to accomplish with the device. I have always thought that added features were not needed on an e-ink device; however, with the introduction of color, there are a lot of benefits. I personally like the App Store because sometimes I want to carry just one device, and in the event I need access to my email or web, I have it.

    I am 100% sure that there will come a time when the flickering screen of the remarkable paper Pro will annoy you.
    I bought the remarkable paper Pro one and used it for a week. Then I returned it because there were two key points that I didn't like: the screen flickering which is very constant and the black color in quotes because it's not black, it's like a blueish black.

    RM pro has a much better light feature over the rest on a boox you have to crank the light up just to make it usable in most cases which just kills battery life, making a boox's have battery life similar to an ipad

    • @AlexCdeBacatech
      @AlexCdeBacatech 2 месяца назад +2

      I have the note air 3 c and can easily use it all week without charging and have 30% battery left. I also have not wanted or needed the front light for most indoor and outdoor settings, but I have loved having the flexibility and temperature control at night. I am sure the remarkable has better battery life but mine has been really great! 😊

    • @Vliegende-Hollander
      @Vliegende-Hollander Месяц назад +1

      It's not only of the front light. Boox BSR is mainly responsible for the huge battery drain. Sadly you can't turn it off. That's why I "downgraded" from the NA3C to the Go 10.3 and I don't regret it!

    ever tried to draw a straight horizontal or vertical line on the Boox device (0 or 90 degrees)? still not possible. On the reMarkable with its much less tools it is very easy to do. Ever tried to have a folder holding your notebooks and PDFs within that single folder? not possible on the Boox, of course possible on the reMarkable. Ever tried to access your eBooks incl. annotations using your mobile device? Not possible on the Boox, of course easy to do using the reMarkable App. Ever tried to use Tags on PDFs and eBooks as well? Not possible on the Boox. On the reMarkable you can use the #Tags on single pages, on documents, even on Folders, on all document types - I really dont get it what the benefits of those Boox devices are…

    Aucune hésitation pour moi c'est boox remarkable est un systeme bien trop fermé
    Tout ce que je ne pourrai pas faire avec une remarquable pro
    1-il faut charger le stylet (j'ai aussi un stardler compatible ou pas ? )
    2-nativement les note ne sont pas dans google drive sinon c'est 3 euros par mois hors taxe pour le cloud remarkable
    3-impossible d'avoir les applications de lecture kindle/kobo/vivlio/play livres donc pas de synchro ni d'achat possible
    4- pas mes journaux en ligne application (cafeyn)
    5-(a priori ) dans la prise de note je n'ai pas vu de mise en forme là sur la boox si je maintiens un rond un carré une ligne etc. ça fait une forme clean.
    6-(a priori) on peut envoyer des mails et il faut un compte connect pour cela ....mais pas en recevoir !!!
    7- pas de port sd

    Quid de l'accès a onenote/task ?

    -je n'ai pas su trouvé, si je branche à mon pc si c'est vu comme un disque externe et que je peux sauvegarder ou synchroniser les documents comme avec ma boox ?
    -je n'ai rien vu sur l'audio avec la boox je peux enregistrer/écouter des memo /écouter de la musique/des livres audio/ brancher un casque Bluetooth
