    If you could add one feature to the reMarkable, what would it be? Drop your ideas below!

      I would add the possibility to decide between endless flow or a fixed page when typing. I have to copy and paste my text manually afterwards to have neat pages without scrolling and that's kind of annoying.

      Official support for custom templates and custom colour gain/gamma adjustment. It would be nice to be able to boost the vibrancy of colours in some PDFs - of course you can't go beyond the capabilities of the screen, but I do find that there are some documents that aren't designed to be viewed on such a desaturated screen where the RPP could display them 'correctly' if they had their colours adjusted. Alternatively, I suppose just a better default colour profile would help somewhat, but it'd be nice to be able to adjust the vibrancy manually per-document, like you can with some of the more customisable colour e-ink devices.

    To find notes, handwritten especially, I suggest using tags - this way you are not forced to create a text title all the times (although that's still a viable solution)

    I’ve been using my Remarkable 2 since a month after it came out. And yet, some of the tips in here both apply and were great ideas. I work out of a home office so I could keep my ReMarkable plugged in 24/7, but this is not great for long-term battery life. I love your idea of switching on airplane mode and then switching it back on at the end of the day. I may need to create some reminders for this one (likely keeping it off for two days). The line straightening is one I forgot.
    Thanks for these tips and refreshers.

    I wish landscape mode would go the other way so you have the large bottom to hold onto. Especially for us left handers! Split screen - having a book open and taking notes in a separate notebook would be amazing and is absolutely doable with the bigger screen in landscape. Links instead of tags or being able to sort tags in some way at least. Highlights sticking to the actual words on an ebook so if I resize the font I don't lose my highlights.

    Any web page you went on your remarkable, on your phone simple tap share, then two "print" it will default to "print to pdf" it makes the page a PDF to save to phone, then just share that to RM app. No need for extensions or other apps. Find a cool image on reddit you want on your tablet while scrolling on your phone? Simply tap print, or share and then select print. It will allow you to "print to pdf" and it just saves the image or wiki, or post, or book, or anything at all even screenshots as pdf. Then share pdf to RM tablet.
    Super easy, no third party anything required.

    Checked it out for the 2nd time at Best Buy. Sure, it doesn't have the vibrancy of a tablet. At best, your color will appear like a color newspaper, or early comic book paper. Still pretty darn good looking. I think the firmware needs a major upgrade before I seriously consider one. Such as a basic geometrical shape template, which can then be moved, resized and stretched as desired.

      Agree 100%. I guess they are trying to keep the interface simple with a paucity of available iconography/functionality.
      I'm just about furious that I cannot import a graphic into an existing notebook. I can only open a single graphic as it's own notebook. I need the "vision board" functionality of multimedia. This is a real let down for this much $$$.

      If by your own templates, you mean PDFs then yes, you can convert handwritten notes directly on Remarkable Pro (WiFi needed).

    I've found this device to work very with light pressure while writing (less than a traditional pencil and paper), so with a light touch, tip and surface durability should never be an issue. This is currently my favorite E-Ink device. I still like my Boox Tab Ultra C for general purposes because you can install apps on it, but for direct paper replacement, reMarkable Paper Pro is the answer for me.

    • @perromascota
      @perromascota 2 месяца назад +1

      Pero está remarkable paper pro tiene mejor pantalla que la boox Tab ultra c pro?

    • @erikjohnson9112
      @erikjohnson9112 2 месяца назад +1

      @@perromascota Yes for color, but lower resolution (229 ppi vs 300 ppi on Boox). The color looks better to me, but all E-Ink color is muted compared to backlit LCD. Still, I prefer looking at RPP color because it look more natural and the writing lines up with the pen better (screen thickness is likely less?).

    Hey friend! Thanks first of all for the absolutely great video of yours!
    I would love to get a glimpse on the visibility and sharpness of the Remarkable Paper Pro when it comes to *sheet music* .
    Ok, some context: I am a choir singer and have been thinking about the switch to digital paper (iPad? Remarkable?) for quite a while now and what I have noticed during my research: Nobody on RUclips is talking about this use case for this new and bigger Remarkable, but it's perfect in my view for musicians, because the bigger screen size brings it closer to A4 paper dimensions, also the e-ink screen is not as hard on the eyes and more readable in almost every lighting condition. You can take notes in the sheet and also don't need to worry about distraction through other (social media) apps as well as a short battery life as on the iPad.
    The only dealbreaker is: Are 229 ppi sharp enough for displaying notes accurately enough so that it is readable in the end? If you would test it out in a separate video, you could maybe partner up with some musician RUclipsr, that maybe already uses an iPad or something tablet-like. Does that sound like a RUclips niche that would be covered by you first? I would love to have at least some camera close-ups of the notes on the e-ink display combined with your opinion on readability :) That would be absolutely fantastic!
    Have a great day and thanks in advance :)

    • @howtotechstuff
      @howtotechstuff  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi there! Thanks for the suggestion, it's an interesting idea. My channel is still relatively small, so I’m not sure other RUclipsrs would be keen on collaborating just yet. That said, I'd be happy to take some close-up photos of music sheets if you'd like to see if they fit your needs. If that works for you, feel free to email me (my email is listed on the channel) with a PDF of some sample music sheets. All the best!

      My dad is a musician and I showed him my rm pro a few weeks ago. He was intrigued by the idea, but ultimately the page transitions were too slow and not reliable enough for him to play music from. He did write out a few bars on the built in music sheets and was amazed at the responsiveness to writing music. To play, he said he would need a different method to advance the pages, such as eye tracking or a foot pedal.

    Hi there i have enjoyed your content. Can you please expand on point 10 for me? I couldn't understand how you send articles to the reMarkable? thanks Paul and all the best.

    • @howtotechstuff
      @howtotechstuff  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Paul, if you're using Chrome browser on PC/Mac , you can install reMarkable chrome extension that will show up as a small icon at the top right of your browser. Once you are on the website/article you're interested in, you click on that icon and it automatically sends it to the could and shares it with your reMarkable.
      For Android mobile device, you could install Kiwi browser that allows chrome extensions; as per the video, the process is very similar. Hope this helps!

    can highlights be copy pasted easily/automatically?

  • @cameroncz3197
    @cameroncz3197 2 месяца назад +1

    Nice tips! I knew all but two. Searchable text notes and mixing highlighter colors (mainly because I don't have Paper Pro).
    But you are wrong with one tip. You can have templates on notes pages in PDFs. You just need to import them from a notebook with template and then you can duplicate them with that template in PDF. Obviously you can't change them in PDF. And for custom templates you can make them elsewhere and import them to rM as PDFs or images.
