I like this kind of video, personally, I live in a place that has lots of snow and it is very cold so running inside is something I must do a lot of. Watching videos like these when I run is a huge motivation.
Loved this format, nothing like a POV to really capture the event and your efforts! Also lovely too see Maldon Prom again after many years away from the area; many fond memories of Sunday afternoon strolls on the Prom with my children and my Mother!
Loving the on-board cam view. This course is on my ParkRun Eastern England tourist to-do list so great to see the route in advance. Lack of Marshalls in expected places.
do you really need marshalls at every given turn for a 5k? 😂😂🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ just follow the crowd my man theres always somebody at the half mark then turn your ass around
Maldon Prom park run is really easy to follow you shouldn’t have any issues with it. I don’t see anywhere else they need to put marshals to be honest, maybe the turnaround point but even then they have signage anyway
Well done on the course record and the win Ben. Great way to celebrate your 50th Parkrun too. Looking forward to seeing how the upcoming marathon goes. Good luck with it 💪
Good video! I felt like I was running with you the whole time. Also this is probably the only time I get to experience running this fast and not being breathless just by watching your footage.
You make a 3 min/km pace look so easy but in reality a 3.45 /km pace is all I can manage and Im completely exhausted after 5km. People really don‘t understand how crazy impressive this is unless they too have ever tried paces even close to this
Wow, just wow. Really enjoyed this video. Massive respect on your passing on the narrow / busy sections. Really like the on board stats and impressed how your heart rate climb do slowly but could hear in your breathing how hard you were pushing. A big thumbs up from me.
Thank you James! It’s from the watch so take that with a pinch of salt. Would have been at least 160 after the first 400, watch takes a little time to catch up
Well done on doing your quickest Parkrun of 15.30. Also congratulations on completing your 50th Parkrun. Now you are entitled to have a Red 50 Parkrun milestone top. Hopefully you might at some time consider trying out Storeys Field Parkrun in Cambridge. It is said to be the 2nd quickest in the UK, providing it's not too windy. Not been going for long. We had event 33 event this Saturday. I have faith in you beating the current record of 14.47. Then there is Coldhams common Parkrun, 4miles away. Unfortunately Cambridge Parkrun at Milton never opened up again, after Covid, due to becoming too popular, with over500- 600 runners regularly.
Ah love it , This lets me see what it would be like if I was 25 years younger 25kg lighter, and 2km per minute faster :) , Thanks, Ben. Very consistent pace .. are you binary in the way you hit park runs and just have stop and go, or do you actually hold something back? Also loved the music you added hand a Khruangbin vibe about it.
That's a different parkrun (very scenic)! .... strange no marshal down at the strange round the bench turn point, might have gone off the end of the pier 🤣 .....and I know you re fit at the moment Ben, but how long did it take for you HR to realise you were sub 3:00/km ing 🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣 GREAT RUN MATE!!.........loved the vid👍
Wow. Great race. Thank you for letting me complete a 5k in 15min. I never thought it would be possible. 😁 Nice video post processing. Which software did you use to overlay the race data?
Wow this was great. Your progress is inspiring mate, smashing it! Same camera attached to your hat? When I start racing I think I’m going to do this so I can watch with VR goggles in old age :)
Enjoyed this- I like when there is a bit of an intro but understand why you’ve just uploaded the run footage. Might be helpful for future views to include the parkrun name in the video title- when I tourist to other runs I like to watch a few youtube videos beforehand to get an idea of the route. Well done 👍
These videos are ideal for parkrun tourists wanting to check out a course before they visit an event! Have you posted it to the parkrun event’s Facebook page? I’m sure they’ll be keen to share it 🙂 Awesom channel Ben - keep it up!
Well done!!! I enjoyed the video! A true champion!!! I have a question about your recording: how did you manage to record more than 15 minutes? I have the same action cam you have, and after 15:00 it stops (I read that it is designed in this way to avoid overheating) Thanks!
Love it, great run! On the style, personally I'd like some little bits of commentary where you have something to say e.g. about how you were feeling, where you decided to back off or dig in, that sort of stuff. You could still run the footage in real time and fade the music back up when you don't have anything to say.
@@BenIsRunning i just think it is a great idea. Makes me feel like i am park running. Coastal one will even have an even better scenery. But all in all i am amaze at the stats on the screen and of youtself. Keep it up mate. Doing an amazing job but dont burn yourself over it.
Nice video indeed, and well run. Looks like a nice location, towards the end I can’t help but think how all these ppl think they are going ok and then Ben comes flying by. It would disappoint me.
Wow that seems a tricky course especially with the low number of Marshals at the major turns . Seems not many people stick to the run on the left so people can overtake on the right part of park run either there.
Having moved to America before parkrun was a big thing, i had thought I’d missed out. Looks like a nice place to run around, but was frustrating me just watching the tight roads, turns and all the people in the way. I guess its free and fun so shouldn’t expect it to be like a race. Also leaving the HR up for the finish could have been good to see the recovery drop.
is your resting heart rate -5?
😂😂😂
@@BenIsRunning youre in debt to your own BPM
Can't believe how long it took your heart rate to reach 160bpm+ at that speed!! Phenomenal 👍
Mine is already at 180 within 10 seconds
My thoughts exactly
It didn’t cross 100 for 400m. 😂
Seems way off, fair play if thats accurate and in sync 👏
Seemed to be breathing pretty heavy at 96 so not sure how accurate that is 🤔 waaaaay faster me anyways 👍top marks.

Feel free to volunteer then :)

Love this 'point of view' type of video, I've made a few but usually have a lot more people in front of me!
Craziest park run I’ve ever seen. Route is complex, and the amount of people you lapped on second loop wow
Always looks more hectic on video than actually being there.
