Well done Poppy and Harry!! How lucky we runners are to have people dedicated each week to volunteer at Parkrun. It makes it so special knowing that everyone there is only there because they love running so much. I try and volunteer once for every 10 runs. The volunteers at Bushy that day definitely deserved their coffee and cake afterwards!
There is nothing that gives me greater pleasure than seeing other people succeed especially children doing well like this. It is the joy of life itself. Poppy is an inspiration to all of us and her own age group obviously. Go Poppy - what a lovely person. (Why ParkRun saw fit to delete 20 years worth of gender-based local course and age category records instead of defending women’s sport at the grass root level is beyond me?! There is no shame in having record holders to look up to! I can’t bring myself to do ParkRun anymore because of what they did and I used to volunteer a lot.). All power to you Harry
Hats off to you both. Can relate to Poppy’s breathing example at 9:40! Standard for me (only when running, just to clarify). Always inspiring content. Cheers Harry and Poppy 🧡
At the start I thought, "Well this is cute, go Poppy" and then I heard the finish time and straight away I hate Poppy with every bone in my body. Lol. Seriously though what a fantastic effort and a huge event to do it at.
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing and congrats Poppy! My local parkrun usually gets around high double digits here in Canada and I ran Bushy in July with 1300 people and it was quite the assault on the senses; I can’t even imagine what it was like with 6200! Keep up the great content 😀
Genuinely impressed by both of you! The Bushy Park 1000th run was impressive, and the number of runners, and the effort expended by everyone. "Poppy was brilliant" - an entirely accurate comment on video - definitely a person to watch for decades to come. And such a decent young lady!
This was such an incredible event - thanks for capturing it! I did wonder if you would be there, but didn't spot you - though I spotted myself in the video! I wasn't running, but I got to see how the funnel got slowly more and more packed as runners were coming in. It was really unbelievable, and the volunteers did such an amazing job. I heard that people who finished near the end ended up having to wait in the funnel for over an hour in order to get their times. It was so cool and so crazy.
another epic Video and as always so inspiring, both off you well done. Hopping to run the PR in Bushy over Christmas holidays when back in hte UK so good to see what to expect there. Thank Harry.
Well done Harry and Poppy! Hope you enjoyed your Northern Irish adventure - even if it did rain cats and dogs on the Sunday. Was very happy to grab a few words with you at Antrim parkrun the day before - hope to see you back soon. And I might put in an order for some nice orange socks soon!
Wow, I think we have a future elite athlete on our hands here. She is an incredible talent. I done Bushy a few weeks after this, one of my favourite parkruns, not quite as crazy as this thankfully.
What a joy Poppy is, such a lovely girl. You both did great. Bushy is my local park run . I love it all, the atmosphere is fantastic. it was cancelled today so it was nice to see it. The last km is the killer for me!
Poppy has a great running style ... congrats to her trainer/coach/mum&dad ... ! Look forward to seeing her name rising through the ranks over the next 10 years ... R (Australia)
Hi! Last Sunday I run a Marathon in my home town (Verona, Italy) and there was two guys with The "Odd balls" t-shirt in front of me for about 2/3 of the run: the same t-shirt that I can see at 2:53 in the video. How small is this world! By the way, I like your videos. Jog on!
Was an amazing experience to attend this event, I was very surprised when I passed Harry on the line, and glad I was able to say hi briefly after the funnel Well done to you both!
I used to compete triathlons many years ago and I always hated the running part (sorry), because it was by far the hardest for me and it was at the end of the event. But I do remember once (only once) having an endorphin release whilst running during a training run. I suddenly felt like breathing was so easy and the running was suddenly effortless, I told my training partner who was running with me at the time, and he was a much better runner than I was, and he said go for it and I just opened up and left him for dead as if it was nothing... It never happened again, it was a total one off... but I'll never forget that feeling of feeling almost superhuman and elated...
My first ever park run was Bushy back in 2007. About 50 runners, 1 lap and the long grassy stretch you refer to was the finish straight... It seemed to go on forever 😂
I assumed you’d made a mistake in the video when you said 6,000 runners at parkrun. Then I went and looked for myself. Maybe that is even a global record for a cross country style run?
This is mega. Such a big park run and strong run form you both. I have a 6 year old who is hoping to get under 8 minutes for junior park run by the time he is 7. 3 months to go and on 8:30pb.
How can I get to sub 20 5k? Is more either: (A) more zone 2 important; (B) More 1km repeats/500m repeats etc. if so how many, how much faster than 5k pace?; or (C) longer tempo (i.e. 5-10k or longer?); also what is your mileage for the week? Any response would be hugely appreciated!! :)
I'm pretty sure they ran out of tokens after about 4000 and started writing them down on paper, and then then the paper ran out so they started writing the finish positions down on people's hands, and then the pens ran out so they just started scanning barcodes.. (apparently)
Poppy needs her own RUclips channel the girls got charisma for days !
Agreed, she is such a card.

What a well spoken girl she is and also has personality. Oh and she is a pretty good runner as well!
Poppy is great
What a joy Poppy is, she is sure to be a super athlete in the future.
🤗She is such a wonderful child🤗God bless her many more successes🤗Thank you for bringing her on the show🤗
🙏
That girl can run! And with that confidence and potential I'm sure her running future is bright.

All power to you Harry
I’ve made it in life!!! 🧡
What an honour to run nearly a KM with her before she burnt away from me to the finish!
Poppy was fantastic - loved the raised eyebrows when Harry summarised his own 5k history. What a video, Harry.
Hats off to you both. Can relate to Poppy’s breathing example at 9:40! Standard for me (only when running, just to clarify). Always inspiring content. Cheers Harry and Poppy 🧡

6,200 was madness - highly memorable. Thank you
That looks intense…the start line looked almost apocalyptic 😂 Incredible running from Poppy 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Awww! She’s amazing! Storm Bert cancelled my park run today, so I enjoyed yours onscreen instead.
Appreciate you taking the time to watch

An incredible achievement! I can’t see that this record of most mentions of the name Poppy in a RUclips video will ever be broken.
What a joy Poppy is, such a lovely girl. You both did great. Bushy is my local park run . I love it all, the atmosphere is fantastic. it was cancelled today so it was nice to see it. The last km is the killer for me!

Great video… i never competed but my pb was roughly 18 minutes for three miles 19 min for 5 km. For a kid to do this is crazy! Subscribed
I’ve just been inspired by a 13year old. 🎉
Haven’t we all
Seeing myself at the start of the race is just wild! Can't believe I am on this video!!!!
Awesome

As one of the many volunteers for bushy park run, I can say it gets very crowded at some points😅.
Well done harry and poppy!!
Thank you
You inspired me in doing park run's❤❤❤❤❤ thanks
Poppy is impressive, she has a bright future ahead.
Yup 👍
What a beautiful video
🙏
I assumed you’d made a mistake in the video when you said 6,000 runners at parkrun. Then I went and looked for myself. Maybe that is even a global record for a cross country style run?
Crazy isn’t it
❤❤❤
Well done Poppy.
Please tell me I'm not the only person who teared up at this.
Appreciate it
Makes my attempt to run a 25 minutes 5 km look lame. Well done 🎉
Not at all. Keep it up
Dream big and shoot for the moon, and if you miss, you'll be among the stars!
🌟
This is mega. Such a big park run and strong run form you both. I have a 6 year old who is hoping to get under 8 minutes for junior park run by the time he is 7. 3 months to go and on 8:30pb.

She is
I'm a decent athlete and I'm not sure if I could keep up with her. I have a ~32:30 in the 5 mile :) what a lady, what a video.
Cheers
Inspiring video
🙏
Do they even have 6000+ tags to scan in at the end?
A great question. I don’t think so and someone said something about them having to write numbers down instead. Would be interesting to know
@thisisjogon The finish line looked insane at the end. Waiting just to cross it what a trip.
I jog like a hippo, any tips?
(Hippos) move surprisingly fast - some reaching speeds of up to 30 km/hr (18.6 mph) - taken from a website
Amazing time poppy will there be a vid on Antrim coast half saw you in KFC that day😂😂😂
I remember it well - it was great to see you and the family that day. Yes, there will be
Hello Harry I’m Zach I’m a subscriber me and the people at my athletics club would LOVE ❤ you to make jog on split shorts thank you

What is your current PB? That would be a good indicator of where you should prioritise your training, plus your age of course.
It's Shakespeare!
Where art thou
my toxic trait is thinking id absolutely smash this (i came 32/44 in my pe cross country 😞) 😂
They had over 6000 tags to give away lol ?
A great question. I don’t think so and someone said something about them having to write numbers down instead. Would be interesting to know

What shoes do poppy have
Nike something, would need to check

Well done Poppy
