As a physiotherapist i can tell you that the improvised flossing at 11:14 was good, but I physically cringed and hurt at the kangoroo shoes part, people should not wear that even as a joke. ive trained for 15 years and rarely run a marathon. 1 a day. what a mad lad. the fact you put alot of miles in and dont run is also impressive.
I've run for 15 months and I was proud of myself for running 4.5km today (my record is 5.8k)...
One thing I've heard is basically once you get over 2km or like 15 minutes, most of it is just mind over matter.

@toututu2993 It's already happening though. At a rapid pace. Plenty of stories of people who have been laid off due to AI. Don't have to look far. Companies training AI on their employees data, so actually the more competent you are, the better its trained.

That first pair of shoes is really cool, it's like roller blading without needing roller blading skills. I'm just a bit disappointed that it runs on batteries, I was hoping it would get power from the walking movement.
It should be able to, but you'd still need to recharge it after a while.
In order for walking to recharge them, they would have to *take* energy from your step instead of adding to it. Imagine walking on a reverse conveyor belt for an hour. It wouldn't be an efficient transfer of power so it would be a huge detriment over a long distance, not to mention the ~5 lbs added to your feet that's effectively doubled by the walking action.
@@mononaut I dont mean like that. More like regenerative braking. He mentioned going the same speed downhill, meaning the shoes are slowing him down.
@@mononaut Rolling is a lot more efficient than walking, you don't have to add energy.

@@mohetnt because a car had to follow him for hours on end whilst he was at a slow pace and then he probably had to explain to them they had to wait for him to charge shoes and the whole time they were escorting him to beat the guy who was alongside him the whole time. I was inspired by Russ's effort to have a look at what Yiannis Kouros did back in the day when he ran some ultramarathon races in Australia. His 1000 mile 10.5 day effort is unbelievable. His insane endurance is shown when he was finishing a full day ahead of 2nd place in the Sydney to Melbourne races 1985-1990.

Edit: now after watching the whole video, congrats to both of you natural or machine. That is one hell of a marathon. I did one myself going on a mountain bike and traveling 24 miles in 4 1/2 hours. I had went to the dispensary in the town next door to pick up a quarter. My legs were cramped even before I got home, and I had to rest and recover for about 4-5 days there after making sure I stretched each day. That way a hell of a trip though.
