The number and variety of creative dunks on the colours made this one of the funniest reviews to date 😂 Also, I'm pretty impressed at how well the phones held up!
@@ylcardyeah everyone will have their preferences which is why colors don't matter much when most people throw a case of their color choice over the phone.
I would love to see you re-test the 15 Pro Max to see if it's something at least slightly consistent in production. I know it's still a small sample size, but it is double
I feel like an underwater test or a splash test (based on the IP rating of the phone) should be necessary if the phone survives the bend test. To show if it really is capable of surviving the water
Judging by many teardown videos from other creators, the reason why the 15 Pro Max back glass broke was due to it not having a metal plate adhered to it, unlike the base model 14 and 15’s. In PRG and another RUclipsr’s teardown, the base model iPhone 14 and 15 have a metal plate glued to the interior side of the back glass. The 15 pro and pro max do not.
@AmericanKetchup. Apple claims it was to make the pro models more user friendly to repair. This means on the pro models the glass back comes off without too much hassle as all you have to do is pull it off and you're done. This has resulted in, while yes, a phone that is easier to fix, it will also break a lot more often now. Specially with the other factors such as titanium having less flex so the glass is adhered to something that is more rigid. Any engineer can tell you that's very bad.
@@eondrache7786I’m an authorized repair technician and from what we’re seeing on early training videos, back glass is going to be replaceable on all models. In the past only the base model 14s had the ability to have a standalone back glass replacement while the pros did not. The metal panel you’re referring to doesn’t have any impact on repair ability as our instructions for repair remain the same between models essentially this series (Not exactly but close). I suspect that he may have had a bad model, but if it wasn’t you could be right that not having that panel could give it more room to flex with less support.

Don't think he made such claims, but I could be wrong. You can't make such a sweeping assertion over a single test, on a single device. Hell, even when you add all the people/videos online of any flawed devices, that amounts to a statistical error at most. Unless of course, you guys have some secret access to a global study that already has millions of data points that shows a particular SKU is prone to break? Cool :)
From what I've seen, there's a circular hole in the middle where he put his thumbs to bend it which led it to crack more easily, but I wasnt able to find if it existed on previous iPhones or not. They also made the back glass more repairable which probably means its not as solidly attached to the phone, also it has rounded edges so any drops will now hit the glass instead of the frame, which makes the glass more likely to shatter. On top of that, people are saying the 15 pros are getting really hot even with 10 minutes of use. Honestly I'm still not sure how to feel about it since the reviews are mixed, but generally as long as you have a case it should be fine.
I burst out laughing at 5:50 "I would've [burned] longer but the apps started quivering and I am merciful. Sometimes". Your videos are an immensely entertaining and informative

Would you try to get one more 15 pro max just to see if it bends again? Cuz it might confirm something unpleasant or may give some people a bit of chill. Good video as always! Have a nice one! ^^
Kudos on more incredibly compelling content. Fascinating how the iPhone 15 Pro Max bent and cracked, yet the iPhone 15 Plus remained unfazed. Could it be the titanium frame?
It didn’t bend the back just cracked but it was because the back class isn’t attached to the metal internals anymore it’s separate and the larger format made it easier to break because the titanium is so strong the shock went straight to the back glass
I was scared that I put too much pressure on my iPhone 15 cause I wanted to get it out of tight case but after seeing this video Im calm as they come! These phones are really good built. Even after putting hard pressure in the video phone was perfectly ok 👍🏻
The 15 Pro Max deserves to be retested to see if it was a one-off defect or something more serious to explain its failure. In a way, you opened the door by retesting another phone within the last month.
They almost had me with the titanium. Though the moment you snapped the pro plus super mega I was like nope nope nope. I’m not one to upgrade every year.. so my 14 Pro non-mega shall live on.
I’ve always had the Pro max for a few generations but combined with the fact that I barely use ten percent of the features of the pro and the apparent defects in the Pro’s I plan to go for the 15 plus.
Huel is so good they even launched in space and discovered new planets, nearly 100 million just for how good they are, thanks Zack for letting us know 😀

Good thing you clarify that the weak glass could be for many reasons. Other people on internet also tried your phone flexing technique but they failed to fail the iphone's back glass.
The iPhone 15 pro max breaking, I think it was due to the size AND that the new phones don't come with a metal back plate on the inside. This jeopardizes it's structural integrity.

I'm definitely not one to make waste. I never would have got it if I had to pay the full $1400. I got it for $400 when it first came out through a carrier promo where I could get any new phone for $400. I just needed a new case and I'm on my 3rd so I thought I better try something new :)
@@williamg7138So?
My 15 Pro Max’s will be here today… I’m thinking I might have chose the wrong one now after seeing both durability tests! But I don’t intend to try to bend mine nor drop it from 20’ high cement steps in Australia!
I’m getting one too and honestly these tests have put me at ease because this phone is much stronger than my 8 Plus and that’s survived being run over and flung out a 2nd storey window. 🤭
I’m 19 and getting my first pro max in less than a week! I’m upgrading from the XR. I’ve had that phone since 8th grade now I’m in college. Can’t wait!!
@@fujimizuki9727woah ! Congratulations you can enjoy latest and beast of a performance iphone now, but don't forget to put a case on it ;-)

I was so deeply interested in this new durability test I didn't realize the video was short😢😅

Excited about this review! I was leaning towards getting an iPhone 15+ and now I know for sure. No scratches at level 6!? That's just amazing!! And it survives the Durability Test!? Definitely the best bang for your buck I'd say (apart from not buying a new iPhone off course)
apparently it’s not durable tho, might be worth some more researxh
@@rosiesimppdidn’t it just pass the durability test?
@@matthewrowell8518 yeah but other sources say otherwise, i’m not too sure but i’ve defo heard about it durability wise

Thanks for also doing it for the non-pro models. I tried to find something like this since your pro mishap.
Which one will you be getting as a result?
I have a preorder of a 15 pro max but i’m really considering getting the15 ultra instead
0:34 POV you're about to become phone breaking nourishment.
Out of curiosity, what do you do to the phones you test? Do you throw them away, repair them and resell them, or sell them as is?
i’d like to see a tear down of the Plus to see if the internals contrast any from the Pro Max, maybe in a short.
I got the 15 plus in gentle green and I actually like it quite a bit. The base phones this year Apple really did a solid job on.
Yep, 15 plus has the best battery life.
bro likes white with 1% green

Interestingly, the one that didn't survive the bend test was ironically the most expensive.
Perhaps the rigidity of the titanium leaves no space for the glass to flex unlike aluminum
This is a such Apple thing 🤣
Bonjour Zack! After watching basically all your durability tests, imagine doing one with the front facing camera on, getting a view of what's the phone is seeing when you murder it😂
Keep up the good work! From Italy
I just read your comment in a French accent, then was gutten when you said you're from Italy
@@shakurfaith you got baited with the bonjour! 😝😂
Would you try to get one more 15 pro max just to see if it bends again? Cuz it might confirm something unpleasant or may give some people a bit of chill. Good video as always! Have a nice one! ^^
EverythingApplePro did a drop test, didn’t survive for long I think
@@GH0STST4RSCR34Mand this is irrelevant to a real life scenario because who the fuck is actually out there bending their 1200 phone till they break?
This phone looks so beautiful
Bruh I need a warning for that sound at 4:19... MY EARS
It makes my teeth metaphorically grind imo but hey he just trynna do some tests whatsoever
I do wanna see the bend test redone on the 15 pro max, it seems strange to me that Apple would let that get through. Maybe it was a defective unit?
Tbh even in drop tests the pro max seems less durable than it’s predecessors though so I think the bend test was legit.
I agree, it’s just a different shade of white.
I’ve been watching you for years and I am thankful for you to do all these durability tests ❤
I was scared that I put too much pressure on my iPhone 15 cause I wanted to get it out of tight case but after seeing this video Im calm as they come! These phones are really good built. Even after putting hard pressure in the video phone was perfectly ok 👍🏻
How has it been with the iPhone 15, I'm thinking about buying it
The 15 Pro Max deserves to be retested to see if it was a one-off defect or something more serious to explain its failure. In a way, you opened the door by retesting another phone within the last month.
Everyone's doing it its not a one off
Apple Boy detected....
No apple fanboy. Just buy one yourself and test it out. Like you’ve been doing for years.
"The usb-c is perfect" except for the whole MFI thing and the fact that they still use usb2.0
Jerry I'd love if you also did scratch tests on the sides and back of the phone so we can also see how durable and scratch resistent they are!
the sides are made of anodised aluminium theyre soft to anything made of steel
@@hfhu4179 in this one yes, but I'd like to see how easy it is to scratch this tytanium iphone vs last year stainless steel for example or anything
Another iPhone 15 video to be #1 on trending, get your bag Zack!!
They almost had me with the titanium. Though the moment you snapped the pro plus super mega I was like nope nope nope. I’m not one to upgrade every year.. so my 14 Pro non-mega shall live on.
I’m loving my new iPhone 15 plus! It really does feel fantastic without a case.
Could you redo the pro max bend test? I’m curious to know if it shattered so easily because of how much heat you put on the display
I haven't even gotten into the durability test yet but 1:06 made me laugh SO HARD
I’ve always had the Pro max for a few generations but combined with the fact that I barely use ten percent of the features of the pro and the apparent defects in the Pro’s I plan to go for the 15 plus.
That Burn on Jerry's table is awesome.
Huel is so good they even launched in space and discovered new planets, nearly 100 million just for how good they are, thanks Zack for letting us know 😀
lol 7:00 looks like Apple reached out to you regarding your 15 pro max test 🤣
Cry harder😂
Ever considered getting some kind of machine you can use to do a more scientific bend test? Something that can apply precise amounts of pressure so you can repeat the test more accurately? And see what pressure it needs to break the phone.
it would be pointless
That non-scratched iPhone 15 plus!😍
i think that ceramic shield is improving pretty well and I'm excited to see it. i feel like a tempered glass screen with a sputtering of sapphire on it could give a similar effect
Wasn't that a thing starting with the 6 or 6s camera lens?
@@No-mq5lw nah not quite, the lenses were kinda like sapphire bits mixed in with the glass, it has no effect

The 15 seems strong as hell. Only if it had 120hz screen it would be so good.
Good thing you clarify that the weak glass could be for many reasons. Other people on internet also tried your phone flexing technique but they failed to fail the iphone's back glass.
Back glass has always been a problem though its so annoying
@@stephenc8596true but, if phones want wireless charging they need to use glass unfortunately
In the previous pro max video he heated part of the phone before he snapped it so maybe additional heat contributed to the breakage
@@eric8666 Ya its so annoying I got an Iphone 12 and my glass broke so easily and its like 300 to fix
The iPhone 15 pro max breaking, I think it was due to the size AND that the new phones don't come with a metal back plate on the inside. This jeopardizes it's structural integrity.

Funny to see the base models do better with the stress test than the pro versions
that screen scratch test is insane, this is the first time I could feel fine about keeping my phone raw. as for the aluminum, you could probably polish or get a wrap
I thought the point of protector was to protect the glass shattering from impact? Which is still very much a thing.
@@PhazonBlaxorthe point of the protector is to prevent scratches, not cracks from drops
@@acojo8205 Yes, screen protector. But OP talked about keeping their phone raw, so to me that meant no case, no screen protector, no nothing. Don't you think?

Could you try the 1-9 scratch test on the adamantium antenna strip to see where it does actually scratch?? My guess is the added the ceramic shield to it for durability

One time at work I had the iPhone 12 at the time. I ran over my phone with a 6500 pound forklift in the case and it survived. The back of the phone was destroyed but the front was fine and functional
Apart from not having 120hz the base iPhone and the plus this year are actually not bad. But I’d still go with one of the pros.
I'm not a sucker for 120hz but also not satisfied with 60hz on a $1000 phone. It should at least be 90hz.
