This has nothing to do with this video but I have a few questions. I am 14 yrs post op hip replacement. I'm having difficulty stretching my piriformis on the surgical side. it was a childhood injury and I have always had limited mobility plus now I don't want to break my 90 degree angle. Finally, I'm having quad pain on the surgical side and hurts to walk on it. I've heard others complain about the same thing. Has the muscle lost something ? any advice or suggestions would be helpful. thank you

If you are 14 years out, unless your doctor told you to never break your precautions, you should be able to do what ever you want now. Those precaution are usually just for the healing process with is usually about 8-10 weeks depending on what type of surgery was done. Have you had any recent imaging done?

No I haven't. I cant afford anything for awhile. I thought he told me to never break my angle. The newer surgeries they do are better I hear. I work 12 hour shifts on my feet. I also have limited mobility since I hurt this as a child (legs perthy disease). So I have never been able to sit with my legs crossed ( indian style). I thought you could give me some good leg exercises. I started doing lunges then sprain/twisted my ankle 3 wks ago. Its just now getting better. Are there message boards or any kind of groups. I know a few others that have had this problem,

Hmm...I've been a PT for 10 years, and all my patients have been able to go past the precautions once they were cleared. It definitely could be that your doctor doesn't want you to go past 90 since yours wasn't just a wear and tear case. If you still know how to contact your surgeon, I would call, and leave a message for the assistant to see if you can start stretching farther. In the meantime, you could try stretching your piriformis with a foam roller which would not break any precautions. www.askdoctorjo.com/content/foam-roller-exercises Also, do you happen to have access to a pool? Aquatic therapy (not swimming, but exercising in the pool) can be very helpful.
