    We have just developed a new and improved recipe. No Marmite - soy sauce instead of liquid aminos and our own spice mix. ruclips.net/video/lPCGSbg487k/видео.html

    Okay this stuff is absolutely legit! Two things I'd say to intrepid folks trying this recipe. Might be best to steam for a touch longer just to be sure it's cooked through, it won't burn or go dry or anything so it's worth being sure.
    Eating it plain it does still have a bit of a yeasty flavour but don't be disheartened. Once you've dressed it up with seasoning and got all the extra stuff that comes with a doner (sauce, salad, onions and the naan) it all comes together in one glorious package! Great stuff 👌

    I am already a vegetarian person and like soya chaap recipes which is just a form of seitan with soy flour added to it. Since i have stomach issues with soyabeans, i prefer to add soy nuggets powder which i prepare at home from nutrela or saffola or any other good brand available in nearby stores. Gluten powder is out of scope due to being non popular and expensive at online stores. But still i make seitan using washed dough method and add spices later on.
    This time i found all purpose flour at 70% discount on MRP and stocked 13Kg of it for this purpose. Seitan is just my favourite thing and i dont see it as meat replacement. Even staunch nonveg people at our place have seitan on their list of food since they have chicken or mutton only on sundays mostly.

    I’ve been making seitan for sometime now and I don’t think I’ve used the same flavoring combination twice. They’ve all worked, but some were better than others. I’ll try yours. But I question the short steaming time you recommend- most recipes call for considerably longer times. I have settled on 60 minutes in a pressure cooker on high pressure. That works for me and ensures it’s cooked all the way through.

    I've just made it and it tastes amazing! Thanks for sharing this. The outer layer was a bit tough, but inside the structure was just like kebab. Only problem is: when it comes out of the fridge it's cold, and I'd like to eat it warm. Do you have any suggestions for this maybe? I tried it in the oven, both with and without oil but it looses it's tenderness that way.

  • @jjameshancockk
    @jjameshancockk 3 года назад +3

    I attempted this yesterday and it went amazingly until the cutting into it part. I couldn't use a peeler as it was too soft and smooth I guess. And the inside was super soft. It was very very chewy when eating too. Is there something I might have done wrong?

    • @GetPlantBased
      @GetPlantBased  3 года назад +1

      Awww, we have had this happen too ( a few times actually. Imagine following your own recipe and totally screwing it up :-0) . It is down to the temperature of the water when it is added and also using the exact measurements. If it is too soft in the middle, it could be that you might need to knead a bit longer and steam a bit longer too.

    • @GetPlantBased
      @GetPlantBased  3 года назад

      Hello. It would be trial and error. You could try using cooler water and kneading for a little longer. The hot water shocks the vital wheat gluten, which gives it that sort of consistency. We are working on a few different recipes which use tofu and others that use chickpeas :-)

    • @carlcat
      @carlcat 3 года назад +1

      Mdtaldaduk: there's tons of ways, don't knead it so much or use 5 parts Vital Wheat Glutton to 1 part All Purpose flour/or flour of your choice, or incorporate some mashed beans.

    • @metalbearuk
      @metalbearuk 3 года назад +1

      @@carlcat Thanks I'll try those. I get confused as some people say to knead more, some to knead less for a less tough product!

    • @carlcat
      @carlcat 3 года назад

      @@metalbearuk Make sure you don't use hot water(cool or room temp)when mixing the liquid part and steam 50 minutes under low temp.

      The Spicy Vegan lol the marmite is for flavour, colour and vitamin B12 but you could use miso paste instead if you like. It will keep for the same amount of time without the marmite. It should keep for 10 days, refrigerated 😊 just warm it through before eating

      Janne Salo: You can use Molasses instead. Also, if your end product feels too rubbery try using 5 parts Vital wheat Glutton to one part All Purpose flour. You can also saute the "meat" with some oil to give it some crust just like the real thing.

    Seek the Lord and saviour Jesus Christ before it's too late. John 3:16
    “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Hell is real and Heaven is also real. You don't want to spend an eternity in Hell torment without God. The only way to escape Hell is to follow Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour. Study the KJV Bible to know more and pray and seek until you find Jesus...
