- Its time to take a look at Kiryu, the 3rd MechaGodzilla from Toho Studios. It appeared in 2 films, Godzilla against MechaGodzilla and Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S.. This was the more modern looking mechaG, and it had one nice arsenal!

my favorite kiryu trait are the red lines under his eye that the creator of kiryu said quote "would glow red to resemble tears of blood whenever the mech was being controlled by the spirit of the original Godzilla"

Personally, my favorite Mechagodzilla. Love his design. He also possesses the power to kill Shin Godzilla, with the Absolute Zero Weapon.

Kiryu is my #1 favorite Kaiju EVER, with Battra being a close second. I just love Kiryu, he's the best.
There is actually a word going around saying kiryu's inner frame is actually made out of the previous Godzilla's bones witch explained how he remembers his past life.

Kiryu is made from the bones of the 1954 Godzilla so basically it’s a ghost in the machine kind of thing. Kiryu is like a coin two sides to one coin or Jekyll and Hyde

My fav version of Mechagodzilla is Kiryu not just because overall the look and battle abilities but also his origin of the original Godzilla bones being used giving Kiryu his soul I always thought that was a nice if not slightly dark part of what makes this version so great but it also would make me think philosophically about the soul and I like that
If you think about it kiryu is the new godzillas father and was forced back to life just to fight and kill he’s son. But them not really knowing that it’s sad they where forced to fight it’s like robocop your previous life is over gets brought back as a cyborg and have your memories altered or erased with only fragments of your memories left
I had an old kiryu figure when I was a kid. Recently, I've been going through my Dad's garage and I believe I may find it soon. Can't wait!

Kiryu is definitely a force to be reckoned with and he’s got way more firepower than the other versions of Mechagodzilla that preceded him and I just love that his name and his roar and his different weapons that he has.
This is my favorite Mechagodzilla.

What I like about Kiryu is that he has more fighting capability compare to showa/heisei Mechagodzilla because he has an original Godzilla bones inside of him.
To be honest,i like the design of kiryu cuz it resembles godzilla and its interesting about kiryus origins, abilities and weaknesses and by the way good video man :-)

Kiryu is definitely my favorite version of Mecha Godzilla. MG2 is more powerful overall but I'm not a fan of its design. Kiryu is much more agile and sleek, such a badass character.

if all three Mega Godzilla's were in a fight I think here you would when he will use absolute zero Cannon to freeze Mechagodzilla from the show Arrow and then do some kind of thing to destroy or take down the heisei era Mechagodzilla and I prefer Kiryu of the best Mechagodzilla

Kiryu is my absolute personal favourite version of Mechagodzilla and in my opinion I believe Kiryu is the most powerful version of Mechagodzilla I just love everything about Kiryu.

when they found the skelton of godzilla they use on kiryu look fimler in jurassic world fallen kingdom they found irex skelton they use the dna to make indoraptor to us for miterly but go wrong same for kiryu when herd godzilla roar it out of conterl

Kiryu is arguably one of the strongest monster. If it didn't malfunction like the other mechagodzilla it can arguably beat godzilla

My favorite mech godzilla is KIRYU
MechaG 2 was able to kill both Rodan and Godzilla and his super version is even better. The only reason it lost was due to some BS that Rodan pulled from it's butt hole repairing Godzilla's hind-brain. I think he would win, assuming he could keep at range.
Aceson he did in fact kill Godzilla. Godzilla was revived by the dead/dying Rodan. In addition Godzilla only won because the BS Rodan pulled which melted the outer reflective coating of Mechagodzilla's armour.

I don't think Kiryu is only as good as his pilot because it basicly the reincarnated Godzilla from 1954 so when it takes control of MechaG it doesn't need a oilot that's why I view it to be alive somewhat
I think if all 3 mechagodzillas were to fight, kiryu would win so long as he could end it quickly, else i'd sadly have to give it to the MG2
Most likely in favor of mg2 tho.Kiryu takes a long time to charge and he can be tossed around while charging.And also the cannon might miss because of not being able to aim it since it is being tossed around

Kiryu is the only mecha Godzilla to beat Godzilla. Kiryu is mechanized version of the original Godzilla.
Unlike the other Mechagodzilla's Kiryu has more Weaponry.
The Showa one had tons of weapons too, just no backpack.

Gojirawars 03 a fight would go like this (I will use Tokyo SOS kiryu): kiryu gets raised from the depths of the ocean floor and is fixed, kiryu collided with mechaGodzilla and they both crash and a argument breaks between the pilots and super mechaGodzilla fires his mega buster canon and damages kiryu kiryu fires his railguns to no avail he then proceeds to fire a maser cannon at mechagodzillas eye shattering it calls in the Garuda warship the warship joins with mechagodzilla and makes supermechagodzilla supermechagodzilla fires the mega buster and the Garuda masers and heavily damages kiryu and finishes kiryu off with the plasma grenade causes kiryu to explode however the explosion melts the artificial diamond armour but kiryu looses the fight

Why would the railguns do nothing? The armor of Mechagodzilla 2 is specifically designed to dissipate and absorb energy attacks such as radiation and heat. Railguns impart the majority of their energy via impacting and piercing forces instead of purely thermal, which diamond has significant trouble with impact forces, which is how we shape diamonds by chipping them. High hardness means low stress tolerance.
The other, more glaring issue, is that Mechagodzilla 2 is exclusively a ranged combatant, as whenever Godzilla was able to make it into melee range, Mechagodzilla 2 took significant damage and was immobilized both times. Only when forming Super Mechagodzilla, repairing, and circle strafing from the air did Super Mechagodzilla almost beat Godzilla, until the Rodan power up and losing the energy absorbing layer. The first time Godzilla left Mechagodzilla 2 disabled, Godzilla was able to shock it through the cables and simply knocked it over, causing weeks of damage to be repaired. Then again, in the second fight, Godzilla knocked it over and stomped on it, only being saved by the Garuda.
Contrast this with Kiryu which is well rounded in its combat style, using both range ordinance from its battle packs and strong melee attacks from his biological core and organic computer. Kiryu was not only able to take many hits from Godzilla, but he took them in stride and kept fighting. Kiyru, aside from the Absolute Zero Cannon, runs second fiddle to Mechagodzilla 2 when it comes to ranged attacks, but Mechagodzilla 2 cannot hide in the air to avoid melee attacks from Kiryu like it could from Godzilla. Kiryu also has been shown to deal significant damage to Godzilla with its melee attacks, some of which appeared to be more powerful than all of its ordinance.
The showdown really boils down to if Mechagodzilla 2 can keep Kiryu at range while it fires at it with its Plasma Grenade and Masers, or if Kiryu can hit Mechagodzilla 2 with something like its electro-blade/revolving drill or its high speed rocket blitz. If it can keep Kiryu at range, Mechagodzilla 2 will be able to beat down Kiryu like it did Godzilla. However, if Kiryu is ever able to tag Mechagodzilla 2 and immobilize it, he will literally be able to tear it to pieces.

Big mistake.
MG 1993 becomes Super Mechagodzilla and obliterates Kiryu with beams before immobilizing him with the Shock anchors.
Kiryu is not the strongest MechaGodzilla. The strongest is Super MechaGodzilla. Cuz the Heisei MechaGodzilla is larger and has greater durability. Plus Kiryu isn’t strong enough to lift the Heisei Godzilla who is much heavier.
In terms of power scaling:
Super-MechaGodzilla > Heisei MechaGodzilla >>>>> Showa MechaGodzilla >>>>>>>>>>> Kiryu.
*size doesn’t matter here. Feats and power scaling matters. Kiryu doesn’t have many notable feats to scale to the other two. However, comic, video and crossover versions can be scales equal to or higher.
