- There could have been a showa era version of MechaGhidorah! I'm a huge fan of this era, and a fan of Ghidorah especially! This could have been one of the most powerful kaiju ever, and it would have been made by the largest and most powerful group of Toho space aliens ever assembled on film!

Dude, this is everything I didn't know I always needed!!! This is the kind of stuff TOHO needs to start mining out from the dirt and getting it into media. Film, animation or comic/manga and the merchandise behind it would be amazing and these would all sell simply for the mystic of being the unused film design that never was. Come on toho, you love money, get you 💩 together
The Showa MechaGhidorah huh? Perhaps there's some sort of coincidence that Toho uses the 80's magazine for the inspiration of Mecha-King Ghidorah for the 1991, "Godzilla vs King Ghidorah."
Imagine if Toho makes this movie based on this as a sequel to "Terror of MechaGodzilla", just how massive the Ghidorah fandom will be.

Seeing this variant of Gidorah is a sight to see...It explains the true potential this alien kaiju would've made throughout it's time and beyond! A 12/10! Hands down!
If all of the aliens from every toho film came together to create this giant robot, it would probably my favorite Godzilla film. I’ve seen all of the movies the aliens come from, even War in Space, so this would be a dream come true.

It looks pretty cool. I think it could have been one of those the enemy of my enemy is my friend situations as the alien alliance ditches King Ghidorah in favor of a Mecha version and King Ghidorah is outraged at this betrayal and teams up with Godzilla to defeat his Mecha replacement.

The Showa MechaGhidora is more powerful than Mecha-King Ghidorah! You are right about the latter not being much stronger than it’s organic form-which was controlled by Futurian frequencies, and was damn near dazed when the frequencies stopped.
I could honestly see this having been a plan for a movie after Terror of MechaGodzilla if it had done well at the box office. Imagine it as kind of the second Destroy All Monsters big event to send Godzilla off on that actually takes place after Destroy All Monsters in the Showa timeline. Bring back a ton of Godzilla's allies as well as surviving baddies like Megalon and Gigan(unless his death in Zone Fighter had already happened by the time this would have been made) and have aliens combine all of their technologies together to make one monster who is powerful enough to take on the kaiju of Earth alone. That would be awesome. Maybe even have the original Ghidorah turn out to be alive and this massive threat be an excuse for something I'm sure I'm not the only person that wants to see a Godzilla and Ghidorah teamup out of necessity similar to how Godzilla and SpaceG teamed up in Rulers of Earth.
Interestingly it seems Gigan would've been revived as he was in an early draft for Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla, and for one of the film ideas considered during the gap between Terror of Mechagodzilla and The Return of Godzilla. Also wait Godzilla and Space Godzilla teamed up at one point.

Yeah it really should have been in the film this design reminds me so much of the original robot from The Day the Earth Stood Still

I was always wondering what a Showa Mecha King Ghidorah Would Look Like. But know i wonder, how would Showa Versions Of Biollante, Battra, SpaceGodzilla & Destroyah would look.
I think Showa Mecha-King Ghidorah truly deserves to have actual movie and plot revenge on Godzilla in the next battle for conquest of earth!

Do you mean the Mothra from Battle for Earth or Mothra Leo from the Rebirth of Mothra trilogy. Because if you are talking about Leo, he is pretty underrated and people always either think he is just Mothra or change his gender for no good reason.

ok showa Mecha Ghidora reminds me lot of cyber end dragon maby the one who made that card saw showa mkg and used it as an inspiration would not be the first or last time they did something like that like what they did with the kaiju cards
