- If your Mercedes Benz would not shift into reverse, do not panic. Watch this video and hopefully your problem will be solved if you have a Mercedes Benz with a 7 speed or a 5 speed transmission, the 722.6 or 722.9, any Mercedes-Benz from 2000 to 2012.

Great video!! I have a 2000 SL500 and yesterday it did not go into reverse. I then put in in drive, then back to reverse and it worked. Maybe I have the same issue. No check engine light is on.
👍 it is cheap to replace all the sensors.
When you disconnect the right rear speed sensor, i would think scan tool should display 0 or n/a speed but somehow it still shows 0.7 km/h? This looks strange ?
Yes, Seems like this scanning tools shows the value for 0 speed as 0.7 for more accurate data I always connect my MB star Diagnosis tool.

Be vigilant, not every "no reverse gear" is the same, can be a worn gearbox or bad control valves.
I’ve got a Mercedes’ c200k with engine light on throwing 0017 code I’ve changed the cam shaft sensor had it reset with scanner tool still throwing same code should I change the crankshaft sensor aswell? Spoke to a mechanic on the phone he tried telling me it’s timing chain but the car runs an starts fine ?
There is more than that on these codes, it is not simply throwing money and buying sensors, it can be sensor or harmonic balancer or chain or even adjuster magnets. Need to find out which one it is by careful diagnosis.

Ok, have you tried resetting by removing the battery terminal for a few hours?
Mine is a glc 300 2018 and I believe it is the 9-speed. same fix?
One speed sensor can cause that, but should connect the scan tool and check.

How do I know if my battery is going bad and causing sensors to light up?
Without diagnostic tools, the cluster usually tells you with the white battery sign, Mercedes is very sensitive to battery, it can cause a lot of issues.
