- How To Make Money on RUclips in 2021 and the best part is you can do it too. In my previous upload, I went over how much my Chevy C5 Corvette has cost me to modify over the last 5 years. The cost to modify my Chevy C5 Corvette surprised some, but all car guys like to put their own personal touch on there car and my C5 Corvette is no exception. I have been doing RUclips for a little over 3 years and I got monetized on RUclips exactly 2 years ago. So lets go over How much Money I make on RUclips. The most important thing to consider when making money on RUclips is to develop other income streams. You'll see in this video I didn't rely solely on RUclips Ad Revenue, but I also took part in the Amazon Affiliate Program and EBay Partner Program. It all adds up to a decent amount of money in the end.

Great video bro, glad it’s working well enough for you to be able to mod your c5, I’m still saving up to buy my own place before I can buy a c6, but that day is coming soon. Most people around me ask why I don’t just get an apartment and buy a c6, the answer is apartments in my area cost more then the monthly mortgage on a house, and if I did that I would never be able to increase my savings with my current job, plus right now my parents let me live for free, so why not stay with them until I can afford to buy my house outright. That way once I move out I’ll be able to focus on buy and modding my future c6 without worrying about going into debt.
Living with your parents is the best advice I can give. I landed a decent paying job out of college, but then moved out within 6months. If I even waited for a full year, the savings would have been substantial so stay as long as you can. Good luck in 2021
I applaud what you do with your channel and glad you're able to make money with it....I don't have the following or the knowhow to even think about monetizing my channel. Mines probably going to stay the way it is for now....no money for Grape Ape. You do a great job with it and it's one of my goto channels.

Interesting. That affiliate program is some pretty good money actually.
I mentioned it, didn't go into a great explanation, but if someone clicks on my link and chooses not to buy that item but still buys other items then I get credit for that and paid accordingly. There's items that people buy that have a crazy return lol.

Love the Video Dave - thanks for sharing! I do want to opine about the comment you made about obtaining parts from manufacturers IN ORDER FOR YOU to give them a good review. I have had a couple of sponsored videos. Sponsored simply means "receive anything of value". Usually a part, or a discount on the part (that you cannot obtain otherwise). If you are a bigtime RUclipsr, they probably just send you a check... IMO, if you disclose the sponsorship at the beginning of the Video (Note: RUclips requires this & I believe it is legally required as well in most states) and you are a person of integrity that is not going to "sell out" your reputation for a quick buck (and for those with no integrity, you should ask yourself - do you really think your audience won't figure it out if you give a crappy part a good review? If you do, and they buy said product and it sucks - they are going to LIGHT YOU UP with negative COMMENTS and then UNSUBSCRIBE. That would be very short term thinking. I get what you are saying though because there probably are some shady folks out there that would sell a crappy car to their own mother - but everyone around them knows they are untrustworthy (probably for life). So in the long run it costs them dearly. B/T/W, the same potential for abuse does apply to having affiliate links in you description. If a person was unethical, they might have links to products even though they have never used them (or don't even like them) just to obtain the affiliate revenue. And you don't even have to disclose your involvement in the various affiliate programs. Anyways - sorry about the long comment - you are a quality guy and I just wanted to bring these thoughts to your attention.

Hey bud. Know of a good place to find an insert for the front plate. I'm finally getting a c5 this weekend. Need a plate cover.
If you're looking for the body color plate filler then the best place to look is ebay or some of the Corvette Salvage yards like Vette Villains or Contemporary Corvette. There might be others if you do a search, but those are the ones I've used.

I was able to upgrade my son's happy meal from a 4pc to a 6pc nugget on the drive home during this video lol.
My 01 C5 has this oily smell after I drive it and I drive it long enough the odor even comes through my vents. I don't see any leaks at least not on top. I see that I'm losing oil too. Could it possibly be the valve cover gaskets?? I just want to have an idea before I take it to my mechanic on Tuesday.
You should be able to see any leaks around the valve covers. You'll see a lot of dirt and grime buildup. Other area could be oil sending unit just behind intake which is another easy fix. Hopefully not the front or rear main seal since those are a bit pricey.

Dave, are you calculating your time into the equation? I know its a labor of love- but its labor. how much time have you spent recording/editing/promoting your tube?
alssoooo- i was wondering what happens when you sell this C5 a few years from now because you are crushing it, and you buy a c7 that is black? Are you able to change your yellowvette04 to something more appropriate- and keep all of your subscribers?
I've never calculated in my time. I think I'm around 150 videos and each one takes me about 3-4 hours to film and edit. Of course some are less and some are more depending on the complexity.
I can change my name and keep my subscribers, but the C5 is not going anywhere lol. I don't think I'll reach the point of buying and modding cars for RUclips profit to that level. Never say never, but the goal has always been more of a hobby than a business.
My 50th anniversary Z06 already makes 405 from the factory. So I guess that I don't have to do anything to it except drive it and keep it all stock and keep tires and brakes on it... so keep on enjoying the C5's and all of the rest of the Corvettes.
405 at the crank so around 350-360 at the wheel. Dyno numbers are just numbers. Every dyno has different calibrations and correction factors, so it's unlikely for 2 dynos to have the same results. CSP's dyno is loaded where the dyno across town might read 420hp on the same day.
Divided by hours invested into the channel?
I'd have to really think about that. I don't have crazy video edits so usually editing only takes me an hour. Let's just say each video took 2-3 hrs of extra time, whether that's extra install time or going out for a drive. There's also the time spent responding to comments and livestreams. I very conservative # would be 5hrs per video at 160 videos so about $8/hr so far lol. That's being conservative, so it's probably lower than that.
