September 9th, 1981 - Ozzy was out with Def Leppard in support of Blizzard of Oz playing the Curtis Hixon Hall in Tampa Florida. I was 15. I remember driving past the front of the convention center as we looked for a parking spot and Rudy and Randy were there just walking down the street, literally close enough to reach out the window and shake hands. We were all flat out stunned to see them just walking around we never thought to roll the darn window to say hello! I will never forget it.

Rudy is awesome. What an extremely accomplished musician along with being a true gentleman. Great interview. Back when I was a junior in high school in 1983, I wasn’t familiar with Quiet Riot at that point. I got tickets to see Iron Maiden at MSG in NYC and this opening act comes out and low and behold it’s Quiet Riot. Wow!!!!
I just watched "Hired Gun" and loved hearing Rudy's perspective. I would love for him to write another book that encompasses his entire life. Thank you, Rudy, for your great contribution to this world and music.
I was very young and very lucky to had able to seen OzzY w Rudy, Randy, and Tommy on the 'Diary of a Madman' tour way back in '82, IDK why but that time in my life seems not so long ago. It was about 2-3 weeks after I saw the OzzY D.O.A.M. show the world had lost one of the greatest guitarist of all time, RR. I still have the OzzY concert ticket stub from that concert, cost was $7.50 per ticket, and I still have an actual newspaper ad for the 'Diary of a Madman' concert that's so cool!. Thanks Rudy!! I love you man!.. You always inspired and amazed me.. And I always thought that you were, and still are, the coolest and one of the best HM bass players there ever was when I saw you w QR! Plus the way you played that bass guitar upside down with the 'best bass solo / line' in Heavy Metal history!!! Metal Health! Thank You!!!
TY for this awesome interview with Rudy. I so wish I could ask him a question also. Back in 1983, Quiet Riot did and outdoor concert at India Point Park Providence, RI. During the concert a young man climbed up one of the electrical towers that sat alongside the river, which wasnt that deep. I remember seeing it, etched in my brain forever, this tower was very high! Everyone in the crowd saw it, my heart sank...it looked as if he just walked off, or jumped, some say he slipped, but either way it was a bad outcome. He landed in maybe three feet of water, some say he also hit the dock, he died three days later is what the newspaper said. I know, and remember his name too..but I wont say it here out of respect for his family. It was such and unforgettable thing to happen, I am curious if the band members Carlos and Rudy also remember that day. No one expected something like that to happen that day, the crowd was great that day too. I enjoyed the concert and got right up front and touched Rudy's boot and I felt my face tingle lol I was just 15 yrs old i think, I had a crush on every Rock Star there was. I was lucky enough later in life to meet Rudy again at Alamo Music in San Antonio, he was signing autographs and signed 2 pictures for me, one for my best friend cuz she was sick in the hospital. Rudy is so very kind, and Carlos is as well. I wish these 2 guys really would restart the band as the last 2 originals left, we cant have 4 strangers up there calling themselves QR., if so then really thats just a cover band in my eyes. Well much love to you for doing this fantastic interview and , to Rudy, Carlos. RIP Randy, Frankie and Kevin and love N peace to all reading this ♥ Long Live Rock N Roll!

I saw Rudy and Carlos and Kevin and Frankie on their reunion tour in the 1990's. Clearly, Rudy and Carlos were very friendly and nice guys. Maybe, Frankie was having a tough day but he was not as cordial as Rudy and Carlos. Kevin was aloof. Still, I think Rudy and Carlos would sell a lot tickets because they are that connecting link to the Quiet Riot "US Festival" heyday. Rudy is a fan favorite. I do hope Rudy and Carlos play some dates again in QR.

Rudy has a great memory even remembering down to the year he bought a gift for Randy. Amazing how busy they are, 50 dates planned right now, wow. I like that you ask questions your guests don't often get, I often learn new things about their lives by watching your interviews, new music, new tours as well. Ii wish you would have asked Rudy about Randy coming out and yelling at the audience for booing Def Leppard of the stage! In Pokipsee (?) On the Diary tour!
I met Rudy twice with Quiet Riot in the early 2k's. He is such a nice and humble person. A True gentleman. My all-time favorite bassist and my personal role model. He seemed honestly bashful when he signed his autograph on my pickgaurd and my wife's breasts.
Very thoughtful response from you. What questions would you ask? I make the interviews more of a conversation instead of all the generally questions that everyone asks. Let me guess...you were do upset that you watched the whole interview....which wouldn't be there for you to watch if it wasn't for the interviewer....lol....Have a great day.
Yes, Carlos is the man, love his playing. I really enjoyed him in Ratt too. Awesome player. So yeah QR would be way better with him in there. At least having 2 classic era members is better than 1. So yeah, try and get him to play. He's a great writer too. You should get Steven Adler on drums too, that guy is a monster drummer.
Hey Dan....much appreciated comment. I don't know Alex from a hole in the head and I am sure he is a great guitar player but it would be nice for Carlos to play a few shows or even come up on stage here and there. Can you share this inteview please. BTW....check out my interview with Carlos...ruclips.net/video/CChsyjPT2Tw/видео.html
awesome interview. no surprise Randy never really got pissed. He seemed to have a pretty good temper, but he certainly Let Ozzy that double live Sabbath album was not going to work for him, and he wanted out.

If I could ask Rudy a question: Has anyone heard from Don Costa? I went to school with him, he played bass with ozzy until he was head butted - glasgow kisssed out of the band for his questionable stage antics that distracted from the big guy O Z...
Sorry Lewis ...but I wanted to have a conversation which is well received. I thought your interview with him was a little dry lol.....Have a great weekend...enjoy your anger and sarcasm.
@@bordercityrocktalk7576 Rudy got with the program linking The Venus De Milo with bubbles. Great job. I bet you were nervous. Rudy Sarzo has a strong presence. It's like "while no one was looking, the years went by, the bands went by, but he remained." He deserves the icon status that follows him around.
JFC.....these interviews have become like really bad SNL skits (i.e. Chris Farley). It's becoming an all-out epidemic, which doesn't surprise me given journalism as a whole has become a joke. At what point does the musician start getting selective as to who they give an interview to....smh. Every time Rudy tries to keep this at a respectable level, this guy is right there to remind us that "The best thing about RUclips is that literally anyone can do it. The absolute worst thing about RUclips is that literally anyone.....".
Of the thousands of interviews these people do..I am glad to ask different questions. If you don't like it ....start your own cliche channel and let's see how far you get.

@@bordercityrocktalk7576, I know how to read, but you don't know how to write. Beside the title missing an apostrophe, as well as being badly worded, the thumbnail shows his name along with a date. You were obviously trying to bait people into watching the video, with fake news. Your reply is even missing a word, comma, and a period. Stop with the fake news.
@@bordercityrocktalk7576, That's not a solution, and I didn't even watch any of your videos. And you are correct that he's not dying, but that goes against what you were portraying. Then you won't get called out. That's why you're mad. God bless? Ha! You're not killing me, with kindness. If you can't take the criticism, don't post videos. because if you did......hmmm I sucked you in....and if you didn't you're not very educated......you don't judge a book by its' cover. Anyway...thanks for the nice words lol
When Rhoads was alive no one made a big deal about him he never one time made best guitarist of the Year Eddie Van Halen ruled that for decades.. Rhoads wasn't a innovator of any kind or was his style of playing new to anyone Steve Howe..Richie Blackmore..Steve Hacket and a few others all playing neo classical and all much better than Randy Rhoads.. Jake E Lee was Ozzy Best guitarist by a country mile
totally ignorant take, there is video of him winning best new talent on December 30, 1981 at the Cow Palace. He won best guitar player in a U.K. reader's poll in 1981. So you are absolutely incorrect Ed was an inferior live player, Randy never cheated an audience. You speak like someone who has no idea on the history of Randy rhoads and just came to make the insecure EvH apologist take. I mean he is the guy who put Jackson guitar on the map, by coming into the store on December 23 ,1980 with a cocktail napkin, and told Grover to put his last name on the headstock and see how it works. And it became one of the most famous and best selling guitars in music history. Randy was a guy who bought classical guitar playing, with Jazz phrasing into metal. GO read an article on Randy rhoads, he is the only guy who used to record his guitar solos in one take Ed would do 6-7 takes and piece his solos together. Randy is viewed as the guy who perfected the perfect solo idea by writing it out. Ed was not innovative either based on your comment he simply made stuff other people did before more popular. Define how they are better? qualify that for me, because George Lynch would tell you Randy's knowledge on theory was second to none. So define better, you mean because you are some insecure hack who is clearly bothered that Randy gets so much notorrety, there are millions who think Randy is superior to Ed.
Randy was hailed as the next new thing after Van Halen. He had won the Best New Talent Award from Guitar Player magazine. Randy is recognized as being the first neo classical metal guitarist who had changed the sound of metal with his use of diminished scales. He's legacy is secure.

When He said you should SubScriBe to the channel ? cheers my friend.
Heard in a Frankie interview before he passed, randy rhoads was supposed to play on the record thunderbird, but passed away 😢
I believe I read the same thing my friend. Thanks for the comment and did you SUBSCRIBE to the channel?
Amen! Unfortunately thats all that is left ...
Thanks for the comment Shawn
I didn't know.. I've seen Rudy tons of times playing with many bands
Thanks for the comment my friend. Love the Simpsons avatar lol...Cheers
Rudy's career choices in the 1980's were brilliant! Randy Rhoda's Ozzie to prime Quiet Riot to prime Whitesnake. Damn
Randy Rhoad's
Thanks for the comment Andy; Rudy has a knack for attracting the best for sure. I hope you Subscribed !
I saw him perform when he was with Blue Oyster Cult when i was little.
Must have been a great show....I hope you SUBSCRIBED to this channel my friend.
Get well rudy
Thanks for the comment my friend. Rudy is doing fine. I hope you Subscribed to my channel.
I met Rudy twice with Quiet Riot in the early 2k's. He is such a nice and humble person. A True gentleman. My all-time favorite bassist and my personal role model. He seemed honestly bashful when he signed his autograph on my pickgaurd and my wife's breasts.
wifes' breasts eh ? lol...Thanks for the comment my friend
Went to see QR last year, open for Stephen Pearcy. My only reason for going was to see Rudy, so glad I did. He's a genuinely decent human being.
He sure is the real deal....not many like him. I hope you did as Rudy asked and SUBSCRIBE to my channel. Cheers !!
Rudy is very professional and gracious considering the interviewers constant brain farts of questions

Thanks for the comment
I actually think Rudy's musicianship is underrated. Also, I hope I can look as good as Rudy in my 70s.
it definitely got better over the years, he says Randy pushed to realize he needed to understand music not just play it
he's a genius
Call me dumb but i miss read your header.. I thought Rudy died ... Whoooo0ow i can breath again...
sorry about that lol
I met Rudy when he was with Geoff Tate.
Sure will.
I saw the Carlos interview when it came out.@@bordercityrocktalk7576

I am not a cold coffee guy either lol.
awesome interview. no surprise Randy never really got pissed. He seemed to have a pretty good temper, but he certainly Let Ozzy that double live Sabbath album was not going to work for him, and he wanted out.
Thanks Dave for the comment
I love people who love God , Rudy is awesome …
Thanks Greg....I am in the same boat. Thanks for commenting !

If I could ask Rudy a question: Has anyone heard from Don Costa? I went to school with him, he played bass with ozzy until he was head butted - glasgow kisssed out of the band for his questionable stage antics that distracted from the big guy O Z...
hmmm maybe someone will see this and have an answer.
He was also in Wasp and maybe Dante Fox which became Great White. He should have great stories

Are you able to interview Jake E Lee?
it all depends on the stars lol....I have tried but no success yet; will try again for sure. Thanks for the comment and I hope you have Subscribed.
"Frappa-lappa" and "Sl-laughter" in the first 4 minutes? Hope it gets better cuz that's a rough start.

@@pewsterbaby Rudys' a good guy for sure; wasn't nervous at all. I have interviewed hundreds of His status. He was a pleasure. Cheers
Whats with the OVER dramtic intro to the show?

You totally fucked up naming this video. Rudy is NOT on his death bed!!! Wtf?
Thanks for your two cents.
If you don't like it ....start your own cliche channel and let's see how far you get.
strange interview......odd.

decent interview. I don't think that you needed to use " randy rhoads anger " to hype the interview. I'm disappointed that
you felt it was needed.
Thanks for the feedback but it's like they say; Don't judge a book by its' cover. To get the story you have to read it or in this case watch it. Cheers

it was a unique question and gives people an understanding of how nice and humble Rhoads was
You ever been to Starbucks?
Whaaaat? 😮😮😮

Rudi Parvo
Man, quit lying. He didn't die. Don't put fake news up. That's not cool. Frankie Banali died. May he rest in peace. Rudy is still alive, though.
Read the full title. That is wrong with some people today. They don't read
@@bordercityrocktalk7576,
I know how to read, but you don't know how to write. Beside the title missing an apostrophe, as well as being badly worded, the thumbnail shows his name along with a date. You were obviously trying to bait people into watching the video, with fake news. Your reply is even missing a word, comma, and a period. Stop with the fake news.
@@RayfordRaySiegelTwo things....Is He dying? NO...and I have a solution that we can both live with. Stop watching my channel. God Bless
@@bordercityrocktalk7576,
That's not a solution, and I didn't even watch any of your videos. And you are correct that he's not dying, but that goes against what you were portraying. I know that he's not, but that doesn't justify you making it seem that way. Here's a solution, stop putting false information in your wording and thumbnails, as a way to get views. Then you won't get called out. That's why you're mad. God bless? Ha! You're not killing me, with kindness. If you can't take the criticism, don't post videos. I don't know why you felt the need to reply in "defense" of your actions. You could just learn and move on.
randy rhoads temper??????????????? really????
it was a joke.
Frankie was the badesst drummer in la
no denying that !
Absolutely boring interview, stupid questions, horrible interviewer , make it split screen and dress appropriately next time

@@tonyeckman4822 what are you talking about ?
@t gfonyeckman4822 I think he was replying to the main comment.lol
So you are absolutely incorrect
Ed was an inferior live player, Randy never cheated an audience.
Respectfully disagree
Have some more drugs son.
@@pacman-in-oz Thanks for the comment.
Randy was hailed as the next new thing after Van Halen. He had won the Best New Talent Award from Guitar Player magazine. Randy is recognized as being the first neo classical metal guitarist who had changed the sound of metal with his use of diminished scales. He's legacy is secure.
Met n Tulsa rock never stops tour had backstage passes and he was a rude prick and should be ashamed
