TE-2 - Great or Garbage?
Great! I think of this as a usable and versatile corollary to the gimmicky nature of shimmer reverb.
I have one, and I love it, next to my BOSS DD-7. You kinda forgot to demonstrate the hold-function of that pedal, with which you can create almost similar Pink Floyd-pad sounds. This works great with a second guitarist. Moreover, if you use a slice-modulation, you can create really choppy sound, and with the shimmer-function of the BOSS RV-6, it sounds even crazier. By and large, great demonstration of the pedal. Cheers
The Boss DD-500 also has it. I stack it like reverb with another delay
I love my dd-500, but when I'm battling GAS this algorithm is what prevents me from selling the dd-500.
This pedal makes me feel like I'm playing to a stadium. Instant rock star. I love it.

With more pedals (and less rackmounts) going on post production boards, I see this as something that will fit well during mastering. GREAT !
So happy you made this Vid Leon... I was playing around with my GX-100 and remembered it had a Tera Echo on it.... Put a drive after it and also assigned the Footpedal to Feedback control on the terra and was like WOW WOW WOW. ... Not sure how I'm gonna use that sound yet but so cool.. especially when it starts to self oscilliate
You can also use a switch assign to control the TRIGGER of the tera echo. Turning on the trigger will cause the tera echo to freeze on whatever note you played at the time you turned on the trigger. Doing this allows you to make some really cool droning effects
I had that pedal. Sold it. Been thinking about it ever since. At the time I was looking for a Space Echo variant and I thought Tera = Earth. Earth echo. Sounds spacier than the Space echo.
If you keep your foot on the pedal, it engages a drone function…..which is nice.
seems like a great tool for creating textures!!
This is BOSS's one and only algorithm pedal. No other pedal can reproduce that space gun sound, not even my HX Stomp.

The GT-1000 has this effect in it, it's really fun! Surprised you didn't try the "press & hold" function when you hold down the footswitch.

Just got mine and wow! it’s very good! I like how it all depends on how you play with it :) it’s probably more geared towards Radiohead/Pink Floyd type stuff than say? Metal! But it can be used for anything, down to the player. I like it in stereo with tone lower than higher :) strum more light and get some very nice soundscape stuff :) it self oscillates like an analog delay! so you can do some crazy stuff :) wish it had a EXP input :) maybe there could be a TE-3 in the future?
I like how for such an out there sound with the 'S' maxed, it still sits behind the core tone.
I'd really need a Midi/Exp pedal for the S sweep. Is it in any of the Midi capable Boss units?

Definitely great, I got mine really cheap used., practically mint in the box. I’d say the seller thought it was garbage. Some pedals take a bit of playing around with to get a feel for what they can do. It’s not straight out of the box brilliant, but after you mess around with it you can see why it has cult status.
I have the boss GT-1 and GT-1B , they both have this Tera echo..i think it is GReat..!! i never owned the eventide to compare..It is a KEEPER..!! thankS for the video.

Man, that sounds like nothing else. By that merit alone it’s great. Too many effects are just mild circuit tweaks of something they reverse engineered. Just enough to avoid a lawsuit.

It sounds great clean though I liked it best in your demo with some drive on leads or picking through Queensryche-esque chords. And the the very beginning! That has a such a bright in the room reverb sound, sounds like it needs a tele!

I have a few, can't stop buying them, it's a bit OCD.
I could see the pedal being fun to have on a bedroom board where you can fiddle with the sounds at leisure. However, in a performance application, having it in a multi-FX system with presets makes a lot more sense.

I love the Tera Echo. I just wish they had a waza version with presets. Because I don't really want to take up as much space as the dd-200 does, but would like to be able to have midi and presets (like the new slicer.)

Its a one trick pony that learned alot of tricks.. super good at different sounds that are interesting to play with .. its a keeper to put in your musical toy chest definitely.. great playing as usual Leon, first time actually heard someone demo it. Im surprised you didn't choose this one to buy over the other.. Lupin liked it and said to keep all one trick ponies that dont sound like garbage.. 🌏🦘 n 🐊 n 🐨 n the one and only 🐈 who knows all the tricks.
