I just recently lost my husband on June 10 and your videos bring a little light to my days. Thank you so much. I love how this piece came out. That color is bright and cheery!!! ❤
That turned out beautiful! Try applying the clear wax first and the black after while the clear is still wet, it gives you more control with the black wax, seen other youtubers doing that! 😉
I love the mustard and I would definitely find a spot in the new house for it! That white Ironstone you have would absolutely POP sitting on it or anything for that matter. I couldn’t part with it!
You are the QUEEN of Black and White so your journey into colors is SO FUN!!!!! Not typically a Yellow fan, but WOW what a beautiful piece this is!!!!!
I’m in love!!!🥰 I’ve wanted to do a piece of furniture in that Curry color for awhile now and now I definitely want too!😁😍💛 You need to keep this piece and put it in your new home. 🫶🏼
I was so scared when you started with the mustard paint! But I said trust the process and it’s so beautiful! Glad to see you taking chances with other colors! ❤️
So if you want alot of chippy you can take a wet rag and reactivate the milk paint. Then use the heat gun again. If you don't want the paint too aged with dark wax you put clear wax on first then dark. It's more controllable. I LOVE Sweet Pickens milk paint! The best! I love your "mess" up! 😍👍
Many years ago when I had an old Victorian circa 1895 there was a very ornate chest of drawers complete with keys. It had been painted white, then red then black! Our home had lots of furniture that I could "save" so I did. There was a company called The Stripper with a vat of chemicals that they dipped furniture in to remove paint. I used them a lot. The wood underneath was redwood...unusual and so beautiful, I just oiled it and sealed it. It was in my bedroom for a long time, then my daughter took it and now my grand daughter (11) is planning to use it in her new room( after a house renovation)..I am beyond happy!!!
I cannot tell you how much I enjoy watching you make old things new! I just found a cute Interior Design & Gifts wooden house and am excited to repurpose it! Thanks for inspiring me!
Love love love the yellow with the black wax!..tones down the yellow..if anyone did the same technique and they thought it was too dark u could always touch it up with some white wax..love your style lady!!❤
Three colors, minimum, is the way I repaint everything. Not a fan of that color, but love that you kept on going. It’s so easy to get discouraged, especially when trying new products and techniques. Super cute hutch.
Well done lots of work I liked it in the end Your a real professional in the treatment I used to watch another RUclipsr but to scrappy in the furniture she doesn’t finish up like you do and doesn’t care about what people think.
I'm so impressed.:) When I saw how that had bled I thought now what? I should have known that you knew what to do. What a save!!!! Wow you should be so proud it is a win :) Everything you make is ! That was a great lesson for us. God Bless you and Chris, Hugs. Rebekah
Wow. It turned out sooooo cute. It does need some of the white stoneware stuff on it tho....I think it's called Ironstone! Hahaha. You know! Beautiful!
I love the color, I have tried milk paint on smalls but nothing like that. I just got 3 samples to try. I can see you loving the primitive, I do to. I have always gravitated tords the darker colors, untill farmhouse, but I still find myself attracted the dark stuff. God bless
Love it! I remember in one of my art classes the instructor talking about mistakes that are made but the piece comes out better in the end. Japanese potters would call this “a gift from the kiln”. I think you have your own “gift”. Nice job, Yvonne!💖
Girl, you had me scared there with the yellow milk paint for awhile but OMG did this cute little hutch make a transformation. It looks amazing. That Jolene black wax is the secret. Well done Yvonne, we’ll done. ♥️😊👍👍🌟🌟
I've never thought to use spray shellac to block any bleeding through from older wood when painting! I've only used pigmented shellac that I had to paint on.
It was so good to see the process you had to go through to make this piece look so beautiful and helping us to keep going even when things go wrong xx 🥰
i love to watch your videos, all of them. the things you do are great. and you have great taste, too. you learn from experience which is exactly what I do with everything i do! I love the cabinet in this video. the one thing I don't like is that i want to purchase nearly everything you do!!!
I have a hutch from the same time period, very similar to this one. My plan is to paint it with chalk paint Linen White, and "age" it with antique wax. Maybe adding a small stencil to the doors. I love how your hutch turned out! Its really pretty❤
I love the curry colored hutch. It looks really great. I have a cabinet or 2 that I would like to paint a color but am reluctant. We'll see! Thanks for sharing.
Yvonne thanks for being so humble and transparent with us! That color is gorgeous. Since milk paint is done by hand, is it an economical choice for flipping large pieces rather than spraying?
I absolutely love that curry color and would love to try it for myself but I like yourself. I’m scared to try it out after watching your video. You encourage me to try myself. Thanks for sharing.
Yvonne, you always ask if you inspire. I picked up 2 $5 stools and created what I would call, a GingerChick pallet style set. Both have a purposeful spot in my house, and I am very excited about how they turned out. Thank you! We live in the suburbs, so we don't have your shop space, but my husband did replace my old sander with a cordless orbital sander, when I only intended to buy a mouse sander. I now have a lovely sanding bag he created for me with all the fixings. I am ready for the next project, which will likely be a bachelor's dresser left to me by a family member. It stores my craft supplies in my office. You do inspire. Again, thank you!
I recently did a hutch desk that no matter what I did, the yellowing kept coming through my paint. I used shellac. So I sanded and choose a different color. Someone I know suggested doing a TSP (Tri-sodium Phosphate) wash down first. She said sometimes the piece may have been in a smoker's home and even though I always wash the piece first that it can come through white paint. Next time I will try that. Looks lovely in that pretty curry color.
It looks wonderfully aged. . It will be interesting to see if you put it in your new house. It would be the first colorful piece in your house, wouldn’t it? A fun video to watch.
I loved how it came out however, I would of liked it better if you could of taken the curving wood under the shelf off I feel I would of like it better. I think for making a mistake you made it so much better. Great job again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ hugs

I love how this piece came out. That color is bright and cheery!!! ❤
So sorry . Hugs and prayers 💕
@@GingerChickRehab Thank you
Never would I have chosen that colour BUT it's gorgeous. Stunning piece.
That turned out beautiful! Try applying the clear wax first and the black after while the clear is still wet, it gives you more control with the black wax, seen other youtubers doing that! 😉
I love your finished cabinet. Every "failure" turns to knowledge ❤
Love seeing you try new colors! This hutch turned out beautiful! Girl, you have some talent. 👏👏👏
Thank you!
I love mustard too !!
When I saw that color I thought YIKES, but it turned out just beautiful!
I love the mustard and I would definitely find a spot in the new house for it! That white Ironstone you have would absolutely POP sitting on it or anything for that matter. I couldn’t part with it!
Wow! I love how you rescue these orphans!!!💛💛💛

Wow! It was scary there for a while but in the end it looked great.
Your white ironstone china would look beautiful in the cabinet!!!!!
Wow! This turned out beautifully! Didn't think the color would work out but it did! Great piece of furniture! 🤗
You saved another piece. That curry color made that cabinet beautiful.
Thanks so much 😊
I was so scared when you started with the mustard paint! But I said trust the process and it’s so beautiful! Glad to see you taking chances with other colors! ❤️
Yeah, I was thinking are we still doing the white chippy look? So I'm glad you chose a color. And boy, did you! It's unique and current. Well done!

Hi Yvonne,
This project turned out beautiful. And thank you for sharing your process!! Have a great night. Debbie🥰

The black wax made all the difference in this piece. I love it. I just got my first order of milk paint. Can't wait to try it.
Have fun💝
I love the way this came together! Such a sweet little cabinet! Thank you for sharing!😊❤
That piece came out stunning. I love it. I’m laughing because you always do black and white which I love but I think I like the color more
💛 I love it when you step out of your comfort zone. Yvonne, that hutch turned out to be totally awesome. It’s beautiful.
Thank you so much!
Love colors, I hate that I have to reign myself in when painting a piece of furniture for my booths
Love love love the yellow with the black wax!..tones down the yellow..if anyone did the same technique and they thought it was too dark u could always touch it up with some white wax..love your style lady!!❤
I absolutely love that gold color. It is my favorite to add as an accent in my home.
The yellow piece is gorgeous. Its one of my favorite colors! I have that color threw out my house ❤
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this hutch!! Your ironstone pieces would look FABULOUS against this mustardy currie antique color of this beauty ❤️
Thanks so much!
You have been stepping out of your comfort more and more. I am always so impressed by your work. You are so talented.

Turned out great
I love that color and the way it turned out. Just gorgeous!!!
I love it and would most definitely save a spot in my kitchen for it. It would look beautiful in there.
what a beautiful piece and the color, am loving it! Congratulations!

One of my favorite makeovers. I love that color! Yes, I will see my mistakes through. Like you said…..learning experience. ❤❤❤
I would have been too scared of that color too but the end result awesome❤
I don’t think you made any mistakes at all! This hutch is beautiful!!!!
Love the curry colour xx
Love the color!
Soooo great! I was surprised at the curry color, and then surprised at how much I loved it. Really great use of the milk paint chippyness!!!
Wow😮 I wouldn't have believed it was fresh paint if I hadn't seen it.. I am loving that yellowish color myself in my own home.. ❤
Oh my goodness. Be still my ❤. Soooooo BEAUTIFUL !!!!! Thank you. Everything you touch becomes gold 😊
God Bless ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sweet baby Jesus, I'm obsessed😍❤️ that would be coming to my home. I want one lol
I've never thought to use spray shellac to block any bleeding through from older wood when painting! I've only used pigmented shellac that I had to paint on.
Love this color so prim and beautiful, yes a happy outcome I wouldn’t even call that a mistake because you stuck with it and it’s beautiful.
Really turned out beautiful!!!🤩
Turned out so beautiful! We are in a moving process, too, well, at least in my head, so I am ready to experience new colors!❤
The hutch turned out so nice. I really like the color.
You teach to never give up. I loving watching you both. That color is not me but love to see new things.
It was so good to see the process you had to go through to make this piece look so beautiful and helping us to keep going even when things go wrong xx 🥰

There’s definitely not as much wasted paint. Though it was a bit hard painting the underside of the shelves
It’s perfect!!!
Beautiful piece.
The result is spectacular !!!0. You did a great job on this piece!!
Looks great
Love, love that co!or! Great job! 😊
It’s beautiful!
LOVE how it turned out ❤

Oh.. I’ve dealt with smoke before. I actually saw the shellac turning yellow when I sprayed it on. I was so confused. I almost threw the piece away.
“Mistakes” are adventures and learning opportunities! Beautiful!
Suggestion, go to Jami Ray Vintage videos. Look up milk paint. They have quite I few on painting with milk paint. I learned so much from them.
Absolutely turned out beautiful.
I think it’s absolutely beautiful, great save!
Stunning
I absolutely love what you did to this piece. Thank you!
Oh my gosh that color is gorgeous!!! I loved the color before the wax and I love the color after the wax. You are truly amazingly talented!!
Thank you so much!
Amazing how the hardware complements the cupboard 👏👏👏👏
It looks wonderfully aged. . It will be interesting to see if you put it in your new house. It would be the first colorful piece in your house, wouldn’t it? A fun video to watch.
It would 😉
Love it
It's a Bob Ross 'Happy mistake" moment. The end result is beautiful!
I loved how it came out however, I would of liked it better if you could of taken the curving wood under the shelf off I feel I would of like it better. I think for making a mistake you made it so much better. Great job again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ hugs
It would have made it awkwardly short. I pondered that idea.
