What wax did you use on the painted fabric seats on the chairs? I am going to attempt this!

With the wood burning you would have more even look with a wider tip burner and go with the grain instead of against
Wow! You find such great things at the dump and beside the road! Fantastic projects!! We do not have that luxury to items around here. Everything was beautiful!
Thanks for watching!
Ya know, I may have made it a shade less deep , added a mirror, cut the base and made it a medicine cabinet in a powder room. So cute
Great idea
My uncles had a dump we would go to my mom would find things and refurbish, this brought some memories flooding in❤️
What wonderful memories I’m so glad you enjoyed
Love your work. The outdoor yellow bench is beautiful!
Thank you very much!
You are just AMAZING! Love watching your videos!
Thank you so much!
Now it’s ready for the trash pile!
Thank you for watching! I understand that upcycling from thrift stores may not be everyone's cup of tea. However, many people enjoy learning these techniques and find them useful. It's important to remember that kindness goes a long way in supporting different interests and creative endeavors. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.
The little wicker “table” is actually an Antique Victorian Sewing Box…great find!
It’s just beautiful I love it
@@OurUpcycledLifeI wonder if the linseed oil you used on the rocker would have reduced the brittleness of the wicker on the sewing basket/planter? Or use the linseed oil to moisturise and when it dries off spray the lacquer over the top?
I doubt you will see my comment 8 months after the fact but if by chance you do I would love to know your experienced opinion on this suggestion.
Yes I recognized it immediately Grandmother’s family were all seamstresses, sewing , knitting ,embroidery thread and ribbon along with tatting. All by hand . Wow what a find !❤
I always love your upcycles!! You make me believe I can do DIY's myself! Your instructions are so clear! I have to say I am jealous-you are wearing a jacket outside! It is 100 degrees here in Louisiana right now!!
Cool mornings ❤️
I can’t believe someone threw this bench away. It’s gorgeous & the fleshing up you did was exactly what it needed! I’m soooo jealous! 😊
Thank you so much!!
The tip about the cardboard box was great. Thank you for teaching us.
You are so welcome!
I happen to like raw pine. I would just seal it and add accent cushions to that bench.
I’m not into distressed looks but love your chalk paint and stained wood. Maybe I would have oiled the sewing basket first to feed it so it wouldn’t be so fragile?
Thanks for watching
I must admit that I doubted the process, but you accomplished marvelous results on all the projects. I am hooked.
Glad you enjoyed
Love all the upcycles! It was like watching the "Flea Market Flip" show without the drama. Lol! The yellow bench and burnt one are my favorites! Have you seen the "Shou Sugi Ban" burnt wood/color technique done? It's beautiful. You almost achieved that with the mulit-colored bench/table. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video and sharing it. Love from Kentucky, God bless. 🙏🏻✝
I love Flea Market Flip and miss the show…drama and all!😅
Glad you liked it!!
A dry sponge helps remove the paper for those with sensitive fingers. 😊 Love the video, it's very insightful and inspiring! Thank you! ♡♡
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed.
The bench is beautiful!
Thanks 😊
At one time I worked for a furniture refinisher. He taught me to put keys on a ring and slam those into the furniture to distress it.😁 Very therapeutic!
That’s a great tip thank you so much for sharing
Thank you for the tip on putting art on your TV screen. I’ve seen a lot of people do it and now I can do that, also!😊
You are so welcome!
Love the yellow bench!! Enjoyed the different projects you did! Inspirationaal for sure. Thanks for sharing!!
You are so welcome!
Your friends table and chairs turned out fantastic with the fabric softner and blue paint method! What a deal. Had. never heard of using fabric softener to do this. Great idea!
You are so welcome!
That wicker stand is a Antique Heywood Wakefield Wicker Sewing Basket/stand…
Sure is❤️
I’m so jealous, you get to find fantastic pieces in the dump. I love how the cabinet turned out.
Me too. We can't take anything from the dump. So sad
Thanks so much!
I love the rocking chair. Love the natural color. I personally do not care for all the process that's gone through to make a piece of furniture look rustic. 😊
I understand
Thanks so much for your tips like using your tv for pictures for artwork.
Love your minimalist style. Not everyone is able financially to go and buy so much for crafting projects but they are a creative.
Please know how much you help me, one of those people. ❤
Love all your ideas. You are lucky they let you take from your dump. Where I live they won’t let you which is a shame. 😢
Yes, we have an area where it gets it to the side. I wish more cities would allow this.
love the bench, what a priceless find! Thanks for great projects.
Thanks for watching!
I enjoy your channel very much. Thank you for inspiring me to try new things.
I'm so glad!
I used to have rocking chair just like this- made of mahogey wood-
Beautiful 😻
The finished pine cabinet is beautiful in its transformed state.
Glad you enjoyed
Would you share the color names are of the yellow and turquoise paint that you use ? You also have a great Red color? I have a hard time finding what I want and these colors are exactly right. ❤ love your videos

Love your up-cycling techs. Remember you can use Lin seed oil on wicker too. When I seen you varnish over the wicker plant stand and not apply Lin seed brought the thought to me of using Lin seed to slow down the cracking while you were working on it.
Great point!
Thanks so much for your tips like using your tv for pictures for artwork.
Love your minimalist style. No
Beautiful job thank you for sharing ❤
You are so welcome
Didn’t like the pine cabinet. Guess it is not my vibe. Sort of a shame what you did to the bench. The long bench came out nice. And the rockers were very nice. Thank you for the demonstrations and information.
Loved, loved, loved the yellow bench. Didn't think it could look that gorgeous. You're amazing!
Thank you so much!
The small burned bench started out to be so patriotic but still looks great
Thanks for watching
Great to see and how you did with this- lots of good ideas-thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I enjoyed watching this video. So many beautiful project outcomes👍❤️
Thank you so much!
Your content is always engaging and informative.
Glad you enjoyed
🎉lovely do you ever just look at a peice and just sand it and wax it? I love the look of natural wood. 🎉
Yes sure do!
@@OurUpcycledLife you do some lovely peices x
The caned rocker looks exactly like my grandmother’s that she sat in all the time…wish I had it! She was born in 1881 !! Love, love the chippy yellow bench!!!!
Oh the memories
There is a very big difference between suggesting a diet for malicious reasons and being concerned for someone's health. Even if you watch 'my 600 lb life' you'll see that Dr. Now (who makes his living on gastric bypass surgeries) will not prescribe the surgery to every obese patient they walks in his door. Only after he sees them put forth the effort to make lifestyle changes necessary to lose weight will he offer to perform a surgery for them No one lifestyle diet is right for every body.
Your wicker peice was a sewing table.its amazing
I just love it. Thanks for watching.
I’m sorry but I don’t like painting furniture like that then distressing. That piece looked great , most of the time we get a piece of furniture that’s got piles of paint , sand it & start all over with some new paint ! This is just my opinion, you do as you please!
🌺🌿One person's trash is truly another person's treasure (*˘︶˘*).。*♡ Thank you for sharing!
Gorgeous
Yellow bench up cycle is Beautiful. Very nice job.
Rattan or wicker they are both plant based materials, have you thought of putting some jute twine in to replace the broken wicker parts adding the handle on the front was a great idea but instead of copper wire use the jute because jute is very durable and you can still have the handle as a usable and functional drawer pull. The Cabinet you painted under your tv turned out stunning sometimes it just needs a lick of paint to dress it up a little. I would have gone a dark navy blue colour myself but yours turned out great. I have never been a big fan of crackle finished or distressed things but on certain pieces it can give it a more updated look. I would have painted the whole cabinet turquoise myself the yellow is doing nothing for me i do not like that yellow colour but its your channel and your finds. This is the first time i have watched your channel and i am impressed with the way you do things, it reminds me of Debbie Travis in a way she did a lot of décor pieces and painting walls and things, i enjoyed most of her things too. I have seen the techniques you are using before and they are great techniques so i am intrigued to see what you do next. God bless you for sharing your knowledge and your expertise.
Some great ideas thanks for sharing
Projects are great! Very clever! But what really impresses me is that you are painting in your "family room" with your new sweater on & there is not a drop of paint anywhere but on the project!!! Regarding stripped screw heads....I put a rubber band on between the screwdriver & screw & out it comes as the rubber grips the screw head! 🤗😁💕
Haha! It doesn’t always work out that great! I’m usually a mess…
I just loved you mistake section 😊
😁
What a fun video! I love how you can turn dumped items into beautiful reclaimed furnishings. Thank you for sharing!❤
You are so welcome!
No more chippy. Can we please have something that looks new or artfully done.
I absolutely love that yellow chippy bench! I’m so glad you didn’t paint over the natural aged finish, you did a great job!
Thanks so much!
Wow! I love this technique!
So glad!
It would help if you went the other easy with the grain it wouldn’t look so choppy.
This upcyckled bench is looking amazing ❤
Thanks
Just amazing! Love it
Glad you like it!
56:16 Oh, wow. This yellow bench is my favorite. Absolutely gorgeous!
Yes I love it
I didnt know that "Value Village" was still around! I haven't heard of it since I was a kid in the 80's living in Portland Or. I now live in Ca. so maybe its an Oregon thing...?
I’m in 🇨🇦
Liked and subscribed! How can I find used furniture like that? I just recently began doing many craft projects, but I would love to refurbish end tables or small benches like you do. Thank you so much!
I always find lots at the thrift store
I love ur channel & the many pieces u’ve up-cycled.
I’ve done a few wood burning projects in the past & I found that burning in the direction of the wood grain, the same as u would when u paint,
brings out the grain more evenly. Going against the grain gives u streaks. Ur piece did look so much nicer with the darker grain so it was a great choice.
Thank you for sharing ur creativity, I always enjoy watching u & amazed how the pieces have been transformed 💜
Great tip!
I'm sorry, but that is so ugly. Liked it before.
I absolutely love your videos, but I don't like the "chippy" look. I would love to paint something and have it look new! Thank you for the amazing ideas!
Thanks for watching!
I hate decoupling with gift wrap! It’s because of the ‘finish’, that makes it shiny. When it gets wet it wrinkles terribly! I look for natural, handmade papers to decoupage with.
Yea it can do that
Everything is beautiful. You did great.
One request... Please don't sandpaper so close to the microphone. I had to fast forward because of the sound it makes.
Sorry about that
i was watching a trash collect channel called taco-stacks, anyway he tours the streets on garbage collection day and the furniture like this is everywhere for free, in Britain we are not allowed to put furniture out so I was really envious....you must go have a look at the street garbage, I thought of you instantly LOL
How excellent
that sewing box on legs isn't wicker its woven rope, beautiful, really old like 1880s, wicker is woven wood
So neat!!
I love all the ideas! I'd like to add a suggestion if I may...when using a torch, it's usually recommended to go WITH the grain instead of against it.😏
Great point!
Omg my new favorite channel awesome tips (especially the handles popped into the cardboard box for painting) You are amazing!
Yay! Thank you!
These were so beautifully updated. I really loved the bench❤
Glad you like them!
Love what you do ! keep up the good work. But I'll pass on all the Graphics, so overdone/ dated. Try something new plEEEase
Lots of projects down without graphics but they still sell really well in my area. ❤️
I didn't see a link for the fabric wax. I'm very interested in it, so could you please post it? I appreciate the recipe for the fabric paint. I've had the same issue you mentioned and I plan to try your technique.
The link to the wax in the description, but it is optional you don’t have to use it it will not affect the outcome of your paint
Great video! I just found your channel. So many great fines and great job of cycling. But my absolute favorite is a little dog!❤
Welcome aboard! Hope you find lots of great Contant love new Crafting friends
Id love to see you visit the dump and what you look for! I dont think our dumps around here organized the stuff! That would be fabulous if they did!
Thanks for watching
I have a wooden box that I recycled from work. It has a metal edge on every side for support. Do you think if I apply petroleum jelly to the metal I can actually paint the wood and not have to tape it all. I want to chippy and crackled. Love your videos and ideas
Yep will work
The cabinet with the scarf is cute; the legs in my opinion are too long for it. It makes it look like a stroke of Flamingo. lol
The chair cushions look more of a terra cotta color than leather.
Dang!!! I can’t believe they got rid of that beautiful storage bench.
Thanks for sharing!!
The yellow bench.....the front and back look like the headboard and footboard of an old bed turned upside down. Or maybe two matching twin headboards. Great find.
Could be
I love the bench
Thanks for watching
It's amazing to me that they let you take things from the dump/ landfill! How do you do this? I'm not sure our dump would allow this.
Some areas will have a designated area. I wish everyone allowed this
I too just found a rocker!!! Free needs a little help as a slat is missing on the bottom so I have a large piece of tile cut to fit the seat. For the missing slat on the back I am just respacing the remaining ones. Add a hang pillow on the back and a lawnchair seat on top of the tile fits perfect. Wish I could share the photos !
Sounds like a fabulous find and project
They hv that paint brush at lowes paint dept as well
I can't find your homemade Chalk paint recipes! I don't know where to go for the " link"

oh and that yellow chair is beautiful, i love mustard colour
Me too!!
1:15:50 the stripped screws, there are techniques for that. One is to use a rubber band between your screw head and screwdriver. The rubber helps to grip, like a jar opener.
Yes that would make it easier
Hi, I was just wondering if you sell your pieces. They're so awesome!
I do!
OMG FANTASTIC
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed.
You are amazing, your creation are fantastic 😎🧡👍
Thank you so much 😀
D I think next time you burn wood try going with the grain so you don’t have all those streaks on it.
Yes that would eliminate streaks
No offense, but do you ever use anything other than black chalk paint?
Yes
Lots of projects with colour but neutrals always sell best. Thanks for watching

Yes!
Hello there. I've posted a question on one of your other extended videos, and I have a question about a project here as well... When painting furniture fabric(s), does it Have To Be the Blue(original) type?
You said it doesn't matter the Brand, but what if you want to use a scented version? Like Lemon, Pink, Lavender, or Vanilla? Would the Scented ones make a big difference if Any at all?
Thanks for answering in advance.
Thanks for watching ! You can use any scent it won’t effect the results
Ok, thank you. Much appreciated 🙋🏾♀️😇
Your last project, the bench, if it was me living in that cabin, I would be storing firewood in it.
Yes great idea but our fireplace is propane
Ok....found the discretion...I do not see any link to home made chalk paint?
