Thanks, everyone for watching! I had issues with this video having a few glitches in it. If you see weird flashing colors, it's not your device, it's a video issue. 😑Have a Merry Christmas!
Mary please never leave the old upholstery.. u could have cut it up to the staples to get it off.. it is soo unhygienic..the amount of dust and dirt under old upholstery you make you gag
I agree! I can just imagine what could have ended up on it through the years! It definitely looked as if it was the original fabric from my experience! Otherwise, it turned out pretty and I love the leg’s.
the stools would also make good plant stands. The ivy set is an imitation I think. If you look at the bottom the manufacturer stamp can give you a clue. Happy makeovers!
I remember walking with my brothers and sister to a local Two Guys dept store to buy my Mom a mother's day gift...this was in NJ about 50 years ago...we purchased a boxed set of ironstone dishes with ivy all around ...looks similar if not the same...not sure what happened to them but we had such a good time shopping for them together...wonderful memory!
My husband took me thrifting and junk store shopping often. He loved finding old tools and guy stuff like that..our last outing was for our 43rd anniversary ..we loved a good country drive and find junk stores on the way. He passed away May 2024 of cancer..cherished memories. ❤
Love that little bench. My mom always loved birds and her favorite color is/was blue. I use to get her all kinds of bird things over the years. She went to heaven on 11/02/2022 at the age of 87. So seeing the fabric on the bench was a good memory of my mom. Great job. Thanks for sharing.
You’re unbelievable ! I get so excited when I see your finished thrift projects . You and John are the best and so creative . I love the new crates , just beautiful 😘
I had not seen your videos posted for several months. Soo happy to see you again. You and your projects are most inspiring. Thank you for sharing. shalom
Mary,I so enjoyed this segment so much that my husband and I made a day of shopping at the goodwill,3 of them and had a nice dinner,we made a great day out of it.
What an inspiring video this was today! Mary, you are truly gifted in what you do, and I am happy that you have followed your heart in White Cottage Company!
You are one special person who is gracious, modest, and delightful. Thank you for sharing your ideas and projects. Wishing a Merry Christmas too! Such finds.
My husband loves garage sales and thrifting. Whenever we had company in town, my husband's takes all the ladies thrifting. They love it and he loves it too. I am very Blessed ! Merry Christmas to you and your family Mary.
Fun video. I also used this clock transfer I put it on the front of a small wood chest that I had painted and added a few roses. All your projects look very nice. Stay warm ❄️☃️⛄️
As usual, everything turned out just beautiful!! The ottoman is just gorgeous! What a great idea to make the little crates a gift filled with items!! Have a blessed Christmas.
I have found that when I remove legs I need to number them and the corners they originally belonged to. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Always love all you do. Fantastic footstool.
Yes, I love Heritage dishes. Chose them for my everyday dishes when I got married in 1981 and never even considered adding China to the wedding gift list. When it came down to 3 unbroken dinner plates, I was forced to finally buy a different set of dishware in 2021, 40 years later!
@@rebeccaturner7097 I love to thrift mine. I find them thrifting all the time. I just look for the ones with the impressed stamp on the back, as that means they are the vintage ones. Pfaltzgraff is still to this day making that pattern, but the newer ones are obviously cheaper made.
What a blessing your videos are...I was down in your part of the woods today, went to Berlin and walnut creek. Found a beautiful oak Curio cabinet, the door was broke, but could use it without the door, for only $16.00 I love my day trips there, what a fun day....catch you on the next video
Loved that rusty, crusty, distressed cream colored painted metal basket! I can think of so many great uses for it... magazines and newspapers, for holding my knitting/crochet projects and yarn, could even use it as a planter for a fern... I would have snapped it up!
I thought the flashing colors was a design feature! LOL Thanks for a fun, motivational video! I think I'm going to schedule a thrifting Saturday very soon! Keep up the great work!
Those crates would also make awesome towel holders for hand towels. Hang upside down and use the handle to hang hand towels on and then you also have a small shelf to sit smalls on!! I love you channel. Thank you from Texas!!
Hi Mary. It was so sweet to see you and your husband going thrifting together. ❤️ You two scored some great finds! I loved the outcome of all your projects. Thank you for sharing your gift of creativity. 🥰🤩😍💖😁
Cool thrift store finds and a great way to share the day with your husband.Loved how the ottoman and foldable turned out! The new crates are awesome! I got excited when I saw the letter “H”. Good luck with your new product!
I love the ottoman with the bird fabric! All your projects are so precise and well made. I’m headed to your Etsy shop to look for the tool box/crates! ❤
Hi, found your channel by accident and am so glad I did.. You do such wonderful things, a very talented Lady. A tip from an upholsterer for you. When recovering stools etc staple one side then the opposite side, rather than stapling all round, you get better tension in the fabric and a smoother result. Best wishes from the UK
I just love those caddy’s John made. Those thrift items were a good find I love how they turned out. Both of you are so Creative. Thanks for sharing you day . God Bless your beautiful family.
Love all the projects and how they turned out. I love the ottoman fabric. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy and Prosperous New Year.
I loved every one of these projects. Those little tables turned out so cute. My favorite is the footstool. It was so ugly in the beginning. It was so clever of you to pin and sew and cut those corners. That step eliminated so much bulk. The bird fabric is adorable. I do not think I could part with this one. Merry Christmas, Mary, to you and your family. God Bless. Oh, the crates are great too.
Mary I always enjoy watching you bring new life back to your thrift finds. Love the box's John made. I once had an old work tool box. I loved it and can't for the life of me remember why I got rid of it. I've regretted it ever since.
Love the bird stool!! Looks so high end. I think the legs just put it over the top!! Merry Christmas to you and your family as well as those who work with you!!!
Royal English Ivy is the name of that pattern. I recently found 5 saucers, 3 bowls and 3 cups in the free section of one of my local thrifts stores. I love them and I put succulents in the cups in my kitchen window.
