At their peak for playing live.
Power and loud, yet very melodic.
I've seen them play live 33 times, since 1978.

Robin is the definitive 70's Rock Frontman. He seems to effortlessly reproduce his studio vocals live on stage. He plays guitar (Not like Freddie or Mick, no disrespect, but they modeled guitars on stage, Robin's guitar. is actually In the Mix) And he looked like a Rock Star , in a suit or a tshirt

This song is like a whole bunch of classic rock tracks all rolled into one: the guitar riff of the Yardbirds "Psycho Daisies", the stuttering vocal of the Who's "My Generation," the "My baby likes to rock" lyric of Ted Nugent's "Wango Tango," and the histrionics and stop-and-go rhythm of Zeppelin's "Black Dog." If you need an instruction manual on how to write a great rock song, here it is.

Your funny! alot you have listed i can agree on or I dont know but this isnt at all like Bonhams Black Dog , theres no click beginninng each part, Bun has a different intro for each one and dont tell us youve never written a song by putting down a part you thought was good n cleaver until someone like yourself goes off finding something simular. remember they put it all together and did it well, you should be an attorney instead of a musician. this isnt 1964 many riffs have been used

My friend owned a guitar shop and he called me up and said "Come on over to the shop I need your help for awhile". So I walked into the shop and there was Rick Nielsen. My friend started laughing and said "I don't need your help but I knew you would want to meet Rick" It was the best surprise ever as I am a huge Cheap Trick fan. I hung out with them for an hour as Rick looked at and played several guitars. Rick was such a cool guy. My friend Pete sold him several guitars over the years.

@headshop I'd met CT years ago just after they first got signed. But recently, earlier this summer Bun E. put on a drum clinic at SSE Music in La Crosse (Wisconsin) and I had an opportunity to chat with him and he confirmed that like Ringo Starr, he's actually left handed, but plays right handed and is (for some odd reason) not as proficient playing drums left handed but good enough to 'fake it' in the few videos where he does it. Bun E.'s a total class act. He's good people.

Well don't feel too ashamed. Most of us didn't know at the time. They didn't really make much of an announcement. Tom just quit right before they were scheduled to go on tour. They found Pete on the DL, who was pretty much a Tom lookalike, and then hit the road without any press conferences. @YouDummy That is so cool. I never noticed that in the original recording or even in this recording. Thanks for pointing that out for me. I now look at this song at a whole new artistic level. Thanks again.

@@BeauTokyo So you think Pete Comita, a guitarist who was hired to fill a bass vacancy is a better bass player than Tom Petersson... whose basslines Pete could only barely nail (I saw them with Pete and he was struggling with more than a few of those tunes)? Ok then. You do you.
