The first time I saw CT was on the USO concert Rick mentioned. This was in 1984 when NOBODY gave a squat about the military. Thanks CT. I've been a lifelong diehard fan since that USO show.
One of the best bands you will ever see Live !! Got to see them Live in the 80's when they were young and caught them a few years back and the time hasnt slowed them down one bit !! Like Judas Priest or the Scorpions no matter how old they get they still deliver a great show !!
Saw Cheap Trick in 2019. Tight as ever. Amazing band. Unique in every way and great tunes. I miss Bun E on the drums tho. He just had that look that every regular dude could relate to. LOL
Roy Thomas Baker, the fellow interviewing Rick, produced Bohemian Rhapsody with Queen. (he produced the first 4 Queen records among countless other bands)
The Band was tight too!! When Bun E. Carlos was drumming!! Tom Petersson has a trick Bass guitar too, Robin still has awesome singing and Rick Nielson will always be one crazy guitar player!! Thanks to Cheap Trick for the years of Rock!! (but to the RnR HoF 🖕🏼)
My bad dude.Bassist is Jon Brandt I guess.Peceded Pete Comita and the inimitable Tom Petersson. The bassist line up thru the years was a little sketchy so please pardon my confusion. Peace
I was at this taping right down front. The Palace was right across the street from the Capitol Records building in Hollywood Ca. Matthew Wilder and Thomas Dolby also taped segments that night.
Not Pete Comita either. His cocaine addiction had him outta the band real quick tho he was a badass bassist. Must be Jon Brandt. He was in CT for 6-7 years til Tom came back.Tom and Pete reformed Sick Man of Europe strangely enough. I'd like to see a vid of Randy Hogan as lead singer just for S&Gs but Robin is the bomb to me.Great band live and part of the soundtrack of mine and many lives.
I had this on VHS back in the day - cam't remember what show I recorded it from. It might have been an MTV "In Concert" thing or a Night Flight concert series. 1983 - strange year for rock & roll!
This show 'feels" like it was probably before She's Tight blew up on radio and of course MTV. Not sure when One On One was released but, it sure seems like it may have been the first time this audience is hearing the song? Very cool though. Love this band so much!
Sorry I didn't answer you sooner. From what I can gather this was filmed at The Palace in Hollywood, CA. I also have a few other Cheap Trick videos up from this show.
It's a great song, but I remember why I haven't heard it in decades,MTV shoved it down our throats hourly when it came out . For the older fans Radio CT was stronger than video CT.They were equals to Kiss,Rush,Frampton and yes AC/DC! On MTV they got lumped in on a rotation of John Cougar,Stray Cats and Madonna.....
@@timstreety6391 Nice catch Tim. Tis Jon Brandt. Cocaine Pete only lasted a year,Jon 7 years or so but thankfully we got Tom back. All bad ass bassist tho to be sure. Bun E. forevah....
This is a perfect example of what Bun brings to the band. This song SWINGS!
Exactly!

I agree....great sound and groove ..some swing and depth.Plays his instrument....
Hands down this is a game changer. I can leave work and play this on my drive home every single day feeling alive.
Robin is such an underrated vocalist, killer live singer
I don’t know about that. I could be wrong but I think everyone who truly loves music puts Robin Zander right up there. He’s great (and she’s tight)
Hell no he;s not underrated. The man is legend and everyone in rock n roll knows it.
What makes you believe he's underrated? Did you travel the globe taking a survey from every citizen of the world? Please explain.
Hes still got it too
Just a basic rock band but they are epic! imho
There's RUclips suck and RUclips gold. This is the gold.

I’ve seen them blow both Aerosmith and Motley Crue completely off the stage.

This band is a treasure.
Thats Roy Thomas Baker, he's a legend
Roy Thomas Baker, the fellow interviewing Rick, produced Bohemian Rhapsody with Queen. (he produced the first 4 Queen records among countless other bands)
The Cars ... Journey ...
He also produced One on One, the album this song is from....lol
Legend
Most producers are overrated - Roy ain't! Legend!
He also produced an album for Alice Cooper, 1980's "Flush The Fashion".
One of my favourite Cheap Trick songs - well done live guys!

Miss "the Bun" on drums...
My first guitar strap a ever bought was the black and white checkered one just like Rick's,, didnt help me very much though!
😂
lol
Now I want one...
Good to see this back up!!
I was at this taping right down front. The Palace was right across the street from the Capitol Records building in Hollywood Ca. Matthew Wilder and Thomas Dolby also taped segments that night.
and they just released a new Album of original material ......in 2021
Those were the days!
I noticed Robin wincing and rolling his eyes after his voice slightly cracked. These guys are pros.
Sadly no Tom Peterson at this time, Bun had to work overtime to keep the rhythm section afloat.
Not Pete Comita either.
His cocaine addiction had him outta the band real quick tho he was a badass bassist.

Jon Brant on Bass!!
No, it's Pete Comita...

Why is the MC wearing one of Rick's sweaters
Timothy Gager because they are friends
"We're going to Thailand, because there's no good Thai restaurants in Chicago". Did they really do a USO tour?
Can anyone please provide info regarding where exactly this footage comes from?
the show at the rock palace as it says above.
Robert Lawson a camera
