@@Statue_of_god yeah but like theory wise imo has been lacking i’ve only seen one video going in depth about it
Also LOLing hard
This reminds me a lot of Darkest Dungeon's ending twist, especially given how much their "human" model looks like a matured Mimic. Makes me wonder if the twist isnt that Carnis is the origin of all life many eons ago and the world merely forgot thag all humans are successful Mimics.
i don't know what Darkest Dungeon is but i can agree that a matured Mimic does look like a sort of strange human being
The idea where the meat snake takes on the skull of it's food is actually done in the movie aliens where a xenomorph's skull slowly forms the face of the victim it was feeding on inside the chest.

I recently binged the entire series at 3AM, which was a terrible idea when it came to the mimic video because my closet door looks just like the one the guy was hiding in. I have never been so suspicious of a door in my life.
They can hide in furniture too.
@@goldensentinel7715 Yeah, I saw that, too. But it was the closet that freaked me out.
Although on a side note, if one wanted to hide under my bed, it would have the easiest time. I inherited one of those adjustable ones, so the matress basically sits on a giant empty box that has a lid that lifts up via the motor. The mimics could basically just line up in there like sardines and I'd never know.
@@ThornWolf1 just plant an automatic flamethrower that goes off when motion is detected under your bed

@@ThornWolf1 mine's worse, my bed has a whole storage area right underneath my bed, i just have to open a small door then lift up the mattress to get in. When i was young i would fill it with pillows and sleep under my bed so i can confirm that anything can hide under there quite easily

My father once told me about how he had rabbits which murdered the neighbours indoor cat that got out one day, the rabbit went onto it's back and kicked the cat open until the internal organs came out, the cat was dead.
OH MY GOD-
Killer Rabbits- omg
This is why I watch GTLive, I love to see matpat and friends having fun on the couch and laughing at your everyday Meat Snake. Good times
I know it's a small thing, but I love it when RUclipsrs admit they're wrong and THEN compliment their "correct" companion. Mat allowing himself the grace to understand where he was wrong in the theorizing in the Meat Snake episode (the WW2 timeline discussion) spoke volumes to me.
"Gotta get to the wet zone" Is also a quote worthy of being put on a shirt
True tho
Throw it on undergarments instead
I want that on a T-shirt and to go to the water park in it.
I love how when the video is discussing the meat snake using the skulls of whatever it eats as it own, they both completely gloss over the fact that the meat snake in the bottom left corner clearly has a human skull
I think the family in the first one is the crawl and the prince here 32:21 is the trimmings because they get pushed into the sea which is the world
I like how they just sat there making jokes about the Meat Snake for a solid few minutes. This is probably the segment of all time. I love GTLive.
“The segment of all time” 😂😂
Hearing Ash’s hysterical laughter in the background about 32:10 in is everything! We love ash ;)
﷽﷽﷽﷽
The Ashe giggles starting 32:12 heals the soul 😌
I'm so glad they brought up Simon Stålenhag! He's literally my favorite artist. My mind also went to his art when they brought up vita carnis being this tech/metal-consuming flesh
41:16 That actually is a really cool idea for a sci fi horror creature. It’s like how hermit crabs need to replace their shells when they grow. Having a creature that needs the skull of another creature it’s eaten is a cool feature
Ash dying of laughter in the background was super cute. Always a fun video when we can see them laughing this much.

Hey MatPat! I haven’t heard much about this analog horror, but I saw 8BitRyan react to it and then took a look at it myself. I agree that this is one of the most underrated analog horrors out there. It gets pretty scary later on. There’s also an analog horror series known as Liminal Land. The RUclips channel had three videos when I last looked at it, and a website.

I love the noticeably brighter spots in northeast Canada on the map of the meat snakes. Ties in nice to the reference to the location mentioned when the carnis are said to be meeting.
"They are extremely tame" (Insert picture of a scary meat snake here)

1. CONTINUE IT, THE REST IS AWESOMEEEEEE
2. Lee is absolutely hilarious

The mimics episode is the point it truly blooms into an analog horror
I love that Darian made a video specifically on how to take care of Trimmings as pets, their so cute
I absolutely LOVE vita carnis it's just got such a good idea behind all the creatures/ crawl thingies
"Where there is death, there are meatsnakes."
and also, apparently, Esther
I think you guys should check "the children under the house". It's a rather short analog horror story but very interesting and well made, and quite different imo
I just watched that one last night, it was pretty good. Voice acting left a bit to desired, though. Then again, we're being gifted these for free, we get what we get.
I just watched that the night before. Its SO GOOD.
hmmmm tangi person created that analog sooooooo, and I find a cool thing, sooooooooo. I love when the woman housed everywhere
Imagine your boss being as cool as Matpat
I’d love my job lol
I'm glad I got introduced to this I never heard of this before watching this video it's actually pretty cool
Also in terms of them being "Moist". The fact that trimmings have no skin would tell me they would bleed, a LOT.
Edit: Or they'd lose internal moisture.
They might have some kind of membrane still.
i think it said that they do have skin, its just that they *look* like theyve been skinned
Perhaps moist in like a slug.
Maybe "moist" skin is just like amphibians creatures.
Or they might be covered in a flexible scab.
I love this so much. It has such a strong “I had fun inventing a species/food web for a biology project and wanted to share it in video format” vibe. Those were the best school projects and I love seeing this creators work
13:00 MP my brother in Christ 🤦♂️ I felt like I was going to have an Aneurysm until you realized…thank the Universe for Ash 🙌🏼🙌🏼🤣🤣
I like Lee mentioning the flesh that hates because i thought that too when I saw all of this especially with the mimic given the behavioral patterns and the identifying features like the red color and the human like figure
weirdly enough, I came across the series last night. I figured it would blow up eventually, but it really seemed like I found a hidden gem.

Lee quoting Lord of the Rings is glorious 😂 "Meats back on the menu boys!"
My favorite gtlive vid with enlightening topics such as, Meat snakes and “the wet zone”
I love the background music so much
I am excited to see how the different parts of the princes body turned into Vita Carnis. Because so far, the Crawl seem to be something like his veins, and the Meat Snake is like his cells or intestines or something. I'm completely blanking on what the Trimmings did, but I'm sure that they definitely work with the theory so far.
I watched more, and now somewhat disagree with myself
maybe the trimmings would be like his organs like his lungs.
Mat have you heard of the smile tapes? It's an analog horror regarding a zombie apocalypse where the infected smile uncontrollably. Basically a zombie-DC laughgas situation. It also has codes like numbers and stuff.
So far this feels much less like analog *horror* per se and more like a really neat spec evo project. DEFINITELY horror but it also has that speculative evolution bent that I LOVE.
46:45
I thought most people were like that? Generally our response to being in the rain is to shower then dry off, not just dry off. That part lasted a bit too long for me, but I'm glad they were having fun lol
the meat snake portion was too good, ash just dying in the background as they banter is 100/10
Ash correcting MatPat and the guest (I'm sorry but I don't know who he is) sentence comprehension is the rein that holds me back from cracking my head like an egg.
I swear...this man theorizes for a living literally
This is really late but the guest is Lee
I love the photos that Esther took. They remind me of Trevor Henderson's works
35:34 i think that _might_ be the back of a canadian penny. would track, given that the series appears to take place in/center around canada
Something I noticed is on the map seen in the series that in Canada there is a big island in the Hudson bay that does not exist and in the videos about the different species the island is always bright red. Something tells me that this island has something to do with the origin of the crawl I also think it's possible that it is the island the prince found himself on.
ash’s laugh is just so delightful it literally makes me smile lol, i could tell they all had sm fun during this video!❤️
Literally watching this during their "Mystery Meat Weekend" 🤣
ive watched these before but i never thought they would get this populor
Just to let the gt team know, they will have to watch the full documentary video, at least the last part of it. Because there is a type of being discussed in that full doc video, not talked about in any of the other single creature doc videos.
So glad that they’re covering this. Vita Carnis is easily one of my favorite horror projects just due to its uniqueness and the pseudo-biological takes it has on its creatures.
Dude same!!! I adore every aspect of world building, and this scratches all the pseudo-biological itches! And reminds me of 10th grade science class
They'd be above me on my bed, which I think is worse, I have a loft bed, and have a sleeping setup below and use the bed as a couch because goblinism.
I've never heard ash laugh so much lol
I lost focus on this episode for awhile there and I just hit 0 to restart it and it was at *the exact moment* of the beginning of the episode! o.o woah
The pause before it hits them both when Ash has to explain “resemble this OR resemble this…”
“……….AAAAAAAAHH…!!”
😂
I'ma be perfectly honest. I had the same moment right before they did. 😅
We were all felling that way, so we can relate. Thank God for Ash lmao
I feel like the concept of using a large, horrific creature to dispose of dead bodies during a war is in and of itself an interesting idea to explore in some sort of narrative. I can just imagine an experienced soldier taking a rookie over to where they keep the meat snake and telling them, "If you die, that's where you're going."
Is it considered an honor to be eaten by the creature (an extension of dying in battle considering an honorable death) or does it haunt the soldiers dreams, knowing they're just feed for a monster?
I never watch GTLive and I came around just for this! Would love to see a reaction to the rest!
I love horror, but it does make me terrified. It’s fun, but scary :,D
I love ash's laugh it fills me with joy for some reason😄
I find her laugh absolutely adorable.
Vita Carnis yaaaay. Just watched a whole documentary style vid on the videos and lore and am excited to see the reactions of the Theorist Crew! Hope you have fun with this series.

them laughing over meatworms is the whole purpose of this series' existence.
I will say that the meat snake steeling skulls could be used for some cool moments where things like just casually including meat snakes with human skulls could be used to hint at danger since likely multiple human bodies have been left out for them to consume.
