The fact that a group/company in Vietnam make multiple fake Geometry Dash games and you also find a lot of loopholes is fascinating me. Now is this illegal in my country? Maybe? Vietnam has some weird laws when it comes to copyright issues. They recently blocked websites that hosting and pirating movies. Unless RobTop contacts to Vietnamese law enforcement or they have proofs that a group of people is doing copyright infringement, those people might get away with it.

This video is like my obsession with other ARGs similar to Petscop. It's so real, and getting every little detail is either a massive accomplishment or an anomaly. It's insane. As a scratcher myself who made a few remix of griffpatch’s geometry dash, it’s sad seeing his work stolen in a way he definitely would not have approved of. Griffpatch is an absolute saint in the scratch community and deserves all the respect he can get.
Honestly, this video was so good, it kinda pains me you mostly sticked to Geometry Dash. I've never seen a full breakdown of fake game websites on RUclips, and I would find that a LOT more interesting than only having GD into consideration when looking into this rabbit hole, but maybe that's just me. All in all, 11/10 video. That extra point is for the intro, you just couldn't have done a better job on it.

I remember me and my friends used to go to my school's library and play the geometry dash scratch version in our free time. Griffpatch introduced so many of my friends to geometry dash, which is awesome. In fact i'd even go so far to say that some of my friends ended up buying geometry dash solely because of their experience with the scrach version. Even though they're obviously just capitalising off of geometry dash's success, I have a lot of respect for these we have geometry dash at home-ahh knock-offs. Also holy hell, the lore runs deep.

I constantly saw these bootleg gamedumps as a kid when looking up obscure flash game sites in an effort to find new games I hadn't seen before, and I'd constantly run into these sites advertising games that simply weren't browser games (I was surprisingly tech savvy enough to know that some games couldn't just be played online). I didn't think much of them besides lamenting their sheer amount on the internet, but I could have never imagined how massive of an iceberg this was.
I know you call yourself crazy for caring about this more than you think anyone should, but I'm honestly very thankful for people like you that investigate things like this. By diving deep into topics like this one you make discoveries that - in my opinion - are important for people to know. It's how bad actors like this Vietnamese plagiarism ring are caught.

When i first saw these games, i already knew they were making money off the ads, but i thought they were many small groups of people trying to cling onto the popular game trend.
No joke, after i saw your video, my jaws dropped. Seeing the same adsense code being used across websites, it all made sense. It was not just anyone, but groups of competitors climbing their way up top in order to scam people for money. Now, whoever GM media is, essentially owns the market, if i did not watch the video wrongly. You opened my eyes, to the market of scammers, and i understand that seemingly innocent things can lead to a deep rabbit hole.
In my eyes, you aren’t remotely crazy, but just hyper fixating on things you truly care about, and on the way, we can learn so much. This is why i watch your videos, rewatch them even.

As a Vietnamese who watched this video, this video blows my mind. The fact that a group/company in Vietnam make multiple fake Geometry Dash games and you also find a lot of loopholes is fascinating me.
Now is this illegal in my country? Maybe? Vietnam has some weird laws when it comes to copyright issues. They recently blocked websites that hosting and pirating movies. Unless RobTop contacts to Vietnamese law enforcement or they have proofs that a group of people is doing copyright infringement, those people might get away with it.

This video is like my obsession with other ARGs similar to Petscop. It's so real, and getting every little detail is either a massive accomplishment or an anomaly. It's insane. Even during the video, I thought to myself: "Is this just another ARG? Am I watching an April Fools video?" But as someone who is still in school, and seeing other students consistently playing on these awfully made game websites, now I at least know where they're coming from. There are also many other sites like the ones mentioned here. "Crazy games", "Poki", and many others I see often.

About that SubZero clone: Maybe it was made by or outsourced to a different person/group of people, possibly either made from scratch (not in Scratch though) or based off of a very early version of Geometry Lite. That would explain the initial lack of a menu/practice/pause and the different menu when it did get added.
I remember back when most fake GD websites just hosted the Impossible Game Demo.
(also i kinda want to try to out-geometry dash them and make my own recreation, but that'd firmly count as a copyright violation and i also don't really want to contribute to this mess)

To my knowledge, TTGR has been un-moddable since launch, using a self repair tool in the code, and as a mobile game, you cannot access the source code. That would mean that these people at one point either worked for Outfit7 games, or managed to get a copy of the code. So did smurfcat run or whatever, and it is even LESS subtle about it. Even if you look at the icons for them, they have Roy Rackoon. SO WHY CHANGE THE ASSETS IF YOU ARE ALREADY MAKING MOBILE GAMES PLAYABLE IN BROWSER!?

Honestly, this video was so good, it kinda pains me you mostly sticked to Geometry Dash. I've never seen a full breakdown of fake game websites on RUclips, and I would find that a LOT more interesting than only having GD into consideration when looking into this rabbit hole, but maybe that's just me. All in all, 11/10 video. That extra point is for the intro, you just couldn't have done a better job on it.

I remember me and my friends used to go to my school's library and play the geometry dash scratch version in our free time. Griffpatch introduced so many of my friends to geometry dash, which is awesome. In fact i'd even go so far to say that some of my friends ended up buying geometry dash solely because of their experience with the scrach version. Even though they're obviously just capitalising off of geometry dash's success, I have a lot of respect for these we have geometry dash at home-ahh knock-offs. Also holy hell, the lore runs deep.
