In the cooking pasta show, the guy cooking may just be an evolved mimic helping out his host friend, seeing as hes covered every part of him on camera, and the suspicious "flavour enhancer", not too mention the incredible cooking, way too good to be human.
I very much doubt that. I’m pretty sure it’s humans tricking other humans to eat food with spores in it. Mimics, hosts, and all the other carnis are clearly not smart enough to make misinformation videos.
Them wearing gloves and the fact that the clothes are inside out also feels like a part of that. They're able to act like humans the more they evolve, but they don't have to understand what's correct, just what *looks* correct, so what's inside-out clothing to a creature that just doesn't understand the concept? It's wearing clothes at least, so that works just fine.

The censored soldier has the same black circle with a red triangle in it as the flavor enhancer. Also, it was shown during one of those glitches for the host.
Just gotta point out that the Monolith location is actually an island in the Hudson Bay; easier to see when you compare the glitched map that shows the red area to the non-glitched map previous. By my estimate it seems to be a fictional large island off the coast of Churchill, Manitoba - not only that, but the largest landmass in the Bay, considering none of the other smaller islands make the cut for the simplified level of detail used for the map in the video.
@@KeiranTrick Lmao I feel that tbh; with the level of complexity of the hidden secrets and ARGs that MatPat and Co. have unraveled across the three theory channels, I found it shocking and disheartening to see that they failed to match up points on a map lol
Yeah "bad at Canadian geography" turning into confusing the Hudson Bay for the arctic, North of Nunavut is just . . . confusing. That's a cool detail I *really* wished they would've talked about, it basically completes the storybook.
I was annoyed by that too! Even just looking at the map you see the point is across from Quebec, implying it is most certainly not on the Baffin Islands!
I'm sure someone's already mentioned this and I just haven't scrolled down the comments enough. But I was thinking on what they said about the Flavour Enhancer being spores and watching people just absolutely dousing their food with it. In the episode about the Host, it says that people who are infected become uncoordinated. Thought it was interesting that the guy looked like he wasn't even trying to get it on the food.
It's interesting that both the Monolith's and the Singularity's locations are censored, maybe the singularity is where the monoliths are, and the monoliths are trying to protect the prince? Perhaps the creatures that come into the prince's cave are manipulated by the healing magic and turned into different creatures? maybe a series of humans found the prince and were turned into the monoliths, or maybe the creatures in the story are the monoliths. Either way, this is super cool and I can't wait to see the theory on it!

Yeah, I saw that one. When the cooking show said to "harvest the crawl that we grew last time" my first thought was "and let mimics and Harvesters grow in Mt backyard? Yeah no, thanks I hate it"
Another important note: in the flavour enhancer commercial, after the first high-pitch noise, the narrator’s speech becomes slow and slurred, and in the host episode it is stated that a few hours after infection, a victim’s speech will become slurred and slow, further adding evidence that the flavour enhancer is, in fact, the host’s spores.
I think the reason they didn't actually cook the food was because it would make it too hot for the spores. Isn't 100 degrees celsius when water boils? also, people have been mentioning that the reason their pouring skills are so bad is because they're being effected by the spores, which have been said to impair motor skills.
Yes, I imagine the steam is supposed to be noticeably fake too because it’s a clue that the person isn’t actually heating it up. Maybe warmth activates it but it can’t be too hot?

Black orb with a triangle looks similar to the Singularity. could the cooking show actor be a mimic? it would explain the gloves and inside out clothing. And the general difficulties they seemed to have preforming tasks.
At this point I'm at the edge of my seat looking forward to posts of Vita Carnis. I love this series so much. You could say it's really... *fleshed* out.
Okay so here are some theories: 1. The logo for the flavor enhancer seems like an inverted monolith head. Meaning that some how the monoliths are involved. 2. How did the monoliths grow so big? It just may be that the harvesters and the host feed the monoliths. They might just be root nodes for the monoliths. 3.The monoliths are also enhancing the process. As we know, the crawler is rich in nutrients. So when consumed by humans, as we know crawler tastes bad, could it affect the taste of humans too? If that is the case, the flavor enhancers are used, which can help reduce the foul taste and also draw in more nutrient rich food via the hosts. 4. If it was really spores of the host, how did they manage to sell? As we know it can interfere with the signals. We know there are 2 versions of rules given on how to fight with the mimics. What if the monoliths were interfering with the signal and gave us false information, and between 1972-1990 when the monoliths were rendered weaker, was when the real information slipped out, which the monoliths try to prevent seriously. The mimic, who can now blend with the humans, can now help sell it. 5. The monoliths are surrounding the singularity. The triangle in the logo can also show that the singularity is being surrounded by the monoliths. And the singularity is trying to interfere us from reading the story of the prince as it might contain a clue for how to destroy it. Ik this is just a theory but it would be super cool if this was the case.
Something to note, if you look closer at the map for the monoliths, it’s actually located around Ontario and Manitoba. just making sure that part is cleared up more because it’s located right where the U shape of the water is.
Yeah! I've looked into it a bit and the map in the video definitely has an added island in Hudson Bay that doesnt exist in real life. I get how it was missed but also i am yelling lol
I believe during the flavour commercial, the part with the hands they were saying "consume us" Most likely refering to the host eating those infected with its spores
I love this episode so much! I went from crying laughing to crying anxiously over the reminder this is “horror” over the last part of the commercial. This series has been so interesting. These analog horror etc series scare me more then any horror movie/show of today
I was SO angry when Matt didn't notice that, the small island on Canada DOES NOT EXIST. Like they were cross-checking with an actual map, how did they get the islands mixed up? Like bruh I was about to combust
and he didnt make the connection the singularity is part of the triangle and the military guy plus other photos that show the Nutri Co. logo on them. They were so close yet so, so far lol
It might be a stretch, but there is a chance the triangle in the flavour enhancer commercial might be related to the monoliths since they both had a distinctive triangle, and similar to the princes boat, a harbinger, like a Cthulhu-esc thing.
@@davionvich1956 That seems most likely, depends on if they go with the trope of the "Singularity" is communing with people or the Monoliths are, or if the prince is the one communing. Which it would be interesting if the prince turns out to be the "Singularity".
you remember how they REALLY want to hide the monoliths locations? well, from the newest video we see things approaching an island, so i would guess the island is where the monoliths are, and where the host is leading people
Oh, you know what i just realised? One of the symptoms of the spores disease or whatever it is, is uncoordinated movements, and the theory Matt had about the “flavour enhancer” being spores, could be true…especially with the gasmask being worn in the cooking video….and the uncoordinated movements (spilling the water from the glass in the cooking video, not being able to sprinkle the “flavour enhancer” properly in the advertisement…)
14:22 If Noone had noticed, the triangle within the circle symbol is the same symbol when showing the host of influence, which could support the evidence that the flavour enhancer are the spores.
so pretty sure the 'cook in the penene crawl video is a mimic, the way it walks back into camera when bringing the pinch of salt is very strange, and in one of the other videos that goes more in depth about mimic's evolutionary line they say if you can't see the hands of a possible mimic (they sometimes wear gloves to hide their hands because all mimics won't have nails on their hangs and their fingers are longer then ours) watch their walk, their legs are built different then ours so they have a much stranger walking pattern then humans.
Between this and Monument Mythos, I've gotten sucked into the analog horror again. These people are getting really creative with these. Although whoever chose the name "Meat Snake" probably should rethink that. 🤣
I wish MatPat completed Monument Mythos too. I'll watch it either way because it stays at the "scary but not enough to interfere with my sleep" stage for me from what I know about it, but it's more fun when MatPat reacts to it.
@@Saphia_ yeah, I wish they continued it. It seemed kinda out of place, like, don't get me wrong, GTLive has a long past history of leaving things incomplete. But, it just, disappeared, no word why. i caught that the flavor enhancer's logo (black circle with red triangle), looks to be faintly shown at 14:54. where you guys said it looks like a eye. this is the part talking about the spores so i believe yall got it right.
27:21 Important note: The island that the Monoliths are found on is actually one that flat-out doesn't exist. It's located in the Hudson Bay area, and, obviously, there aren't really any islands there.
Basically, the vibes I'm getting are that the Crawl and all of its derivatives exist to both protect "the prince" as well as harvest the resources of Earth to heal it. The robed figures in the window as well as the company having the prince's symbol imply that perhaps there's some sort of cult dedicated to the Singularity and it created this company with the express purpose of getting popular and then rolling out the Delux enhance which is obviously implied to be Host spores. My guess is that as the Theorists said, the Host spores are probably not as short-term as they seem, and that the sluggishness going away just means that they've done their work and taken over people's brains fully.
I was watching while my Fiancé was getting ready for work and he has no idea what any of this is about but when Lee brought up the tree meat debate he yelled "BUT IS HE WRONG?!?!" I was absolutely terrified when I first watched this series, glad to have MatPat watching it and making funny jokes so I won't be scared of it anymore. Now all I want is LOOOOOORE
Alright last time (this video) that I'm going to share some thoughts: You guys really should have went through the extra videos in chronological order, to keep the storybook pages in order better in your heads and just to experience the series the way it's (as far as I can tell) intended. They follow the series of introduction of each of the Carnis species as well; Crawl, Trimming, Meatsnake, Mimic, Harvester, Host, Monolith, Singularity, giving background exposition to each of the species through the related content. The Crawl one is the Penne pasta episode, the Trimming one is the pet guide, the Meatsnake one is the fabled engorged Meatsnake of impeccable size, the Mimic one is of course the Mimic defense instructional tape, the Harvester one is the Species Anomaly Report, the Host one is the Flavo(u)r Enhancer Commercial, and "Vita Carnis - Message" is the stand-in for the Monolith's exposition, and really focuses on the deeper lore and meaning of the Carnis; I can only assume the next episode (the Singularity "exposition") will be the finale of the series/this season(?) and hopefully provide the last pieces to be able to stitch the collective story together. Also a little bonus because I realize y'all haven't checked this out yet, the Latin translations for all of the species names: Crawl aka Scandere Carnis = Climb the Flesh; Trimmings aka Ignavus Carnis = Cowardly Flesh; Meatsnakes aka Mutuari Carnis = Borrowed Flesh; Mimics aka Trucidatum Carnis = The Slaughter of the Flesh; Harvesters aka Congregentur Carnis = Gather the Flesh; Hosts aka Imperium Carnis = Empire of the Flesh; Monoliths aka Coelum Carnis = Heaven of the Flesh; The Singularity aka Verum Carnis = True Flesh. The translations are rough, meat could probably replace flesh for most of them for example, but with my extremely limited knowledge of Latin and a little help from Google Translate to see if I'm on the right path, I'm personally pretty confident in these translations. PS: I left a theory of my own in the comments of "Vita Carnis - Message" that apparently a lot of people found plausible enough with what we know so far, so if y'all are interested I suggest giving it a read and seeing what you think or how it compares to your own current theories ;) I even gave MatPat and a couple of other content creators credit for getting me into theorycrafting for myself, so it'd be super cool to see what everyone at GTLive thinks about my first independent theory.
@@RJ00001 I meant the videos following the ones that actually introduce the creatures. The giant Meatsnake from WW2, the Crawl Cooking video, and the Flavo(u)r Enhancer video were all part of the second "wave" of videos, but they were still released in an order correlating to the original introductory videos. Most of them provide some kind of further exposition surrounding one of the species of Carnis as well as the world and other lore. For example, the Crawl Cooking video introduces Nutrire Co., and the Flavo(u)r Enhancer video (which corresponds to the host both in release order of these second wave videos as well as the implication that it's made with Host spores) furthers the idea that Nutrire is an evil company that is knowingly using the spores on the public with unspecified malicious intent. Here, the crew of GTLive just kind of picked and chose from these second wave videos in no particular order, rather than sticking to chronological order like the first wave, introductory/documentary videos.
- The meat names/jokes - The crude (and great) drawings of the creatures on a notebook - The biological references to ecosystems, creatures, plants and etc... All of this leads me to believe that Vita Carnis is the creation of a very creative high-school student that daydreams while studying Biology and I love it!
Just wanna say as a guy going through the roughest time that watching the first 5 seconds of this put a smile on my face for the first time today, thank you guys
Since they didn't seem to notice it, I'll point it out in case this gets seen. The Nutrire Co. logo of the black circle with a red triangle is the same image that could barely be seen glitching in the video about the Host, when they pointed out the hole with the red artifacting inside of it. So the flavor enhancer is 100% a powdered form of the Host's spores

You should make a film theory about because not only does it have deep lore but you making a film theory on it will absolutely 100% put it out there and it’s presence will finally be recognized as the best analog horror series that it is.
I love how Matt was like wooooow 60°C is so hot, while i sit here baking my frozen Pizza in the Oven preheated to a low 190°C. Like no wonder the crawl dish looked cold, can't have the spores go bad while cooking
The image in the Host video that Lee thought looked like an eye (viewed at 14:52) looks like the Nutrire Co. logo, further proving your theory that the flavor enhancer is the host’s spores!
The spore thing reminds me a bit of a real life fungal infection. It's called mucormycosis. It's a fungus that when inhaled grows in your nose, through the cribiform plate and into your brain. It causes black colored nasal discharge, confusion and visual changes. It doesn't alter a person's behavior, but does make them incredibly ill
I just got into this series and props to the creator for making this intriguing world-building flesh story. And I realized something about that triangle and the prince. We had the earlier videos mentioned something about 'cult activity' and with the enhancer being you know subliminal, it makes ya wonder if the triangle's tied to the cult and the enhancer product. That it's some kind of company made by the prince (a rich boy probably disappeared and returned back to civiliasation, especially with the one page saying he fell of a boat and it looks like a specific large boat in design) and that he did return to the location for those critters and those red berries, eventually integrating it into consumable products or something. Now...I have absolutely no idea that connects to the whole ecosystem of these carnis from that so what I thought off might just be a left field. Its a thought since the kid didn't end up being the meat thing in the first place like theorized. Maybe that these red berries have been so integrated into human consumption without anyone's knowledge (considering it's been decades when the carnis appeared) and because Im getting a vibe that past incidents that resulted in human catastrophe and death, these things came into being; a large amount of people who have consumed the berries in their lifetimes and then died, become the crawl as a starting point and thus brought upon these carnis. ...Or Im getting ahead of myself. o_o
18:40 Only thing I’d like to correct that lee was wrong about, duck and cover wasn’t meant to protect you if the nuke was directly going to hit your area. Duck and cover was meant for the blast of the wind which can carry miles away from the actual initial deadly explosion. Essentially duck and cover is meant for if you get lucky enough to not be directly nuked you don’t die from a glass shard.
Massive theory: The flavor enhancers success and showing orange/yellow dust (aka the possibility of host spores) shows that there is something in the flavor enhancer that makes it insanely addictive and somewhat controlling (again a coincidence with the host spores) another piece of info I gathered was the focus on the cordyceps fungi in ants, a fungi that launches spores into the air that enter insects bodies and technically seize control of the neural network of the body, this infected ant will climb to a high place before a spore ruptures and continues the cycle, (surprise surprise the host “spores” aka fungi, spread to humans and basically do the same stuff cordycepys). One thing that peaked my interest was the cordcepys being shown in between the images of flavor enhancer corporates, this flavor enhancer isn’t so innocent after all. Maybe they used the neural parasite spores of the host to create an addictive substance that is made to profit on this apocalyptic situation or maybe something worse such as the aforementioned mimics becoming more human, maybe even pretending to be workers for the company and adding their addictive ingredient (host spores) to control whoever uses this and MAYBE they are using it to find more prey or even “soldiers” for the singularity

There is no way the Vita Carnis creator didn't intend the meat snake to be so hilarious-
He was definitely just in the shower one day and thought "what if my meat snake was an actual snake made of meat"
If you think about it, all snakes are technically made of meat
42:43 - MatPat and me at the exact same moment...
"If your engorged Meat Snake persists for more than four hours, seek medical attention." My God I was dying laughing. Thank you MatPat. Great minds DO think alike!
“But fools seldom differ.”
This made me realise that the meat snake HAD to be intentional. Tunnel, Scrambled Egg, Large, Impeccable size, engorged???!
Look, they needed some comic relief, okay?
1:07:31 alright, now I'm convinced that prince is those meat creatures/singularity, that crickets are humans, and that really long long ago they helped prince to leave the island/planet, and that now prince came back.
The censored soldier has the same black circle with a red triangle in it as the flavor enhancer. Also, it was shown during one of those glitches for the host.
All of them having 13-year-old boy humor is incredible and wonderful to watch
Just gotta point out that the Monolith location is actually an island in the Hudson Bay; easier to see when you compare the glitched map that shows the red area to the non-glitched map previous. By my estimate it seems to be a fictional large island off the coast of Churchill, Manitoba - not only that, but the largest landmass in the Bay, considering none of the other smaller islands make the cut for the simplified level of detail used for the map in the video.
Them not seeing it was in Hudson Bay bugged me way more than it should've lol
Huh… it’s arg time?
Either way, this is super cool and I can't wait to see the theory on it!
aswell as the monoliths positions form a circle shape.
If you do Meat Week like you teased in the first part, you could do one for every channel! Super Meat Boy(or something) for Game Theory, Vita Carnis for Film Theory, something about real meat for Food Theory, and Lady Gaga's Meat Dress for Style Theory!

also, people have been mentioning that the reason their pouring skills are so bad is because they're being effected by the spores, which have been said to impair motor skills.

Okay so here are some theories:
@@ems_stars or Maybe it does exist, just knowledge of that is restricted
other theorists who reviewed these videos did research and found that this guy literally made up the island that is only in the vita carnis universe

I believe during the flavour commercial, the part with the hands they were saying "consume us"
Most likely refering to the host eating those infected with its spores
This episode is 50% immature meat snake jokes, and 50% making fun of the pouring in the ads.

Came to comment the exact same thing
and he didnt make the connection the singularity is part of the triangle and the military guy plus other photos that show the Nutri Co. logo on them. They were so close yet so, so far lol
It might be a stretch, but there is a chance the triangle in the flavour enhancer commercial might be related to the monoliths since they both had a distinctive triangle, and similar to the princes boat, a harbinger, like a Cthulhu-esc thing.
@@Solifugae63 then explain how. A statement without evidence is just that, a statement.
@@Bewerethewolf the enhancer are the spores of the host.

@@davionvich1956 That seems most likely, depends on if they go with the trope of the "Singularity" is communing with people or the Monoliths are, or if the prince is the one communing. Which it would be interesting if the prince turns out to be the "Singularity".

The feeding of the gigantic Meatsnake underground reminds me so much of the fairy-tale story we've been hearing... Perhaps some kind of cult?
Can I just say I love having Lee in these :’) pls have him around more it’s so fun

Lee was absolute comedy gold this entire series. Would love to see Lee on the couch again! 😂💯
so pretty sure the 'cook in the penene crawl video is a mimic, the way it walks back into camera when bringing the pinch of salt is very strange, and in one of the other videos that goes more in depth about mimic's evolutionary line they say if you can't see the hands of a possible mimic (they sometimes wear gloves to hide their hands because all mimics won't have nails on their hangs and their fingers are longer then ours) watch their walk, their legs are built different then ours so they have a much stranger walking pattern then humans.
It’s much more likely that they are u de r the control of a host as clumsy ness is a symptom of infection

Looks like monolith head to me
The prince's raft has the logo on the flag
Ash just excitedly reading "Oh, there was also an air disaster" is extremely hilarious to me

I was absolutely terrified when I first watched this series, glad to have MatPat watching it and making funny jokes so I won't be scared of it anymore.
🤓
Im pretty sure they did it in this order looking at the video dates.
@@boyzback1618 we did not need to see a selfie of you.

I hope Lee shows up more on gt live he was fun!

- The crude (and great) drawings of the creatures on a notebook
- The biological references to ecosystems, creatures, plants and etc...

and I love it!
I think The tunnel "meat snake" is the meat snake that grew to 40m when fed by a cult from ep 1 or 2
The circle with a triangle on the flavour enhancer was also seen in the host episode whenever you paused when it was talking about the spores

Yes! More Vita Carnis! Which means more giggles from Ash, Mat, and Lee.
The image in the Host video that Lee thought looked like an eye (viewed at 14:52) looks like the Nutrire Co. logo, further proving your theory that the flavor enhancer is the host’s spores!
The image that looked a lot like static in the Host of Influence's transition looked VERRRY similar to the logo of the flavour enhancer.

Ah yes. Meat snakes. Now I know I’m in the right part of the internet
Maybe that these red berries have been so integrated into human consumption without anyone's knowledge (considering it's been decades when the carnis appeared) and because Im getting a vibe that past incidents that resulted in human catastrophe and death, these things came into being; a large amount of people who have consumed the berries in their lifetimes and then died, become the crawl as a starting point and thus brought upon these carnis.
...Or Im getting ahead of myself. o_o

MatPat drowns away the creepiness with laughter and jokes, props to his wit
18:40 Only thing I’d like to correct that lee was wrong about, duck and cover wasn’t meant to protect you if the nuke was directly going to hit your area. Duck and cover was meant for the blast of the wind which can carry miles away from the actual initial deadly explosion. Essentially duck and cover is meant for if you get lucky enough to not be directly nuked you don’t die from a glass shard.
I really hope matpat does a theory on vita carnis it looks really good!
Massive theory:
The flavor enhancers success and showing orange/yellow dust (aka the possibility of host spores) shows that there is something in the flavor enhancer that makes it insanely addictive and somewhat controlling (again a coincidence with the host spores) another piece of info I gathered was the focus on the cordyceps fungi in ants, a fungi that launches spores into the air that enter insects bodies and technically seize control of the neural network of the body, this infected ant will climb to a high place before a spore ruptures and continues the cycle, (surprise surprise the host “spores” aka fungi, spread to humans and basically do the same stuff cordycepys). One thing that peaked my
interest was the cordcepys being shown in between the images of flavor enhancer corporates, this flavor enhancer isn’t so innocent after all.
