I’ve been sweating for 2 months in the Texas heat waiting to save up some cash to fix my air conditioning. Then I saw this video. Smacked the blower and that joka started blowing. Thanks buddy for the video. Wish I had seen this months ago. Glad I’m not gonna suffer the summer. Keep up the good work. Stay safe and be blessed.

This man's a genius! I just crawled under the passenger side dash of my wife's 05 Highlander and gave the blower fan a few mild taps with a hammer and voila! Fan now works on all speeds and blows cold AC! Thank you for harnessing such special powers sir! Consider me subscribed!

Laugh if you want, but my blower motor wasn’t working. I was sitting in a parking lot and watched the first 1/2 of this video. I leaned over to the passenger bay and pounded on the motor and it came to life!! Caveman repair achievement complete!

Add me to the LIKE list. I had a new motor ready to install then I saw this video. Amazing what you can learn when the video creator is not selling parts!! A rubber mallet and it's good for a while longer. I'm keeping that $98 motor...because next year it'll be a $250 motor. Thanks again for honest content.

Have fixed a couple simple blower motor problems. One was a 2001 Dodge Stratus Coupe, found that rodents got in and made a nest in the heater box.Cleaned out heater box taking out the nest and worked fine after reinstalling the blower motor.Same with a 1995 F150,found a dead bird inside the heater box and worked fine after reinstalling the blower motor.

Reminds me of the time I had to trap a rodent out of a car it had made its home in. Big ole rat. Would come out and sit in the sun on the front seat but as soon as you came near the car it would hide. Tried to gas him out with exhaust and all sorts of other stuff. Finally caught him in a live trap overnight. They had an open bag of dog food in there and he would have lived a hundred years in there happy as a clam. hahaha

The fuses are good and so is the relay. Cabin filter has been changed. The only problem is I have to hit the motor to get it to turn on. Does this mean I need a new blower motor?

I have to say I didn't notice any clicking on the audio. Mine is a Canon Legria HF R606 the mic does pick up a lot of outside noise that appears louder on playback than I remember at the time. They are amazing quality for the money.

I have a 2015 highlander and the front fan stopped working. Tried to check any possible fuses in 3 different fuse boxes - no luck. Watched this video, and I remembered I could see the front hvac fan when i replaced the small air filter located behind the glove box. I removed the glove box, the air filter, and just moved my hand around the top of the fan, and spun the cage. Started the car, hit the fan button, and it is working again. I may need a new fan, but at least for now I am once again blowing cold AC!!!!

The air conditioner in my 2005 Toyota Highlander works, but it could be colder and have a more powerful blower. There is plenty of refrigerant, and I just had my condenser replaced a year ago, so those issues have been ruled out. But the fan makes an erratic pulsing sound, and it should be more constant and consistent. Generally the fan goes from normal to low power to back to normal. This certainly must account for the mediocre performance of my AC. Maybe I have a bad blower, but it appears that the problem is just that it's not getting enough consistent power. I'm beginning to think this is probably just a relay switch problem. Would I get more consistent and normal operation of my fan if I simply replaced the correct relay switch? Thanks.

    • @thefireman285
      @thefireman285 5 лет назад

The blower fan is plastic. Either some debris has gotten past the cabin air filer( make sure you take it out and replace it if dirty, or most likely the plastic fan fins are brittle with age and some are broken and rattling around when fan is on.

Thats a nice simple job for a change, easy to get to, no crap in the way :-D.
Are you trying to frighten us off with your intro, you aint got no chance :-D
Ive used a 21 watt bulb on wires, plus sewing needles to tap into wiring through the insulation, its supprising how handy a simple bulb can be.
Its a decent load for checking connectors, unlike a multimeter that shows phantom voltage.

Yes I do that often. Just pulled apart an EVAP vent valve to see inside today. To be honest I have pulled apart those blowers before and cant really tell what happened. Worn brushes maybe but sometimes makes no sense. II know people would love to watch more autopsy stuff and I think it would be a value added feature to my channel but I have to always weigh billing out my time versus making better videos. IM going to try to do more of that in the future. Thanks for watching my vids!

Indeed. Very rare to want A/C in the summer here but once in a while its nice. Not usually worth spending the money on a new compressor or expensive A/C repair when you never use it. It does help defrost the windows in the winter. Blessings!

If you had slammed your new camera against that blower as hard as you could I bet it would have started working.

Great Video Tim. With the new camera it looks like you lost 50 lbs. Kinda misleading though... all we see is from your belly up. Still 50 lbs is 50 lbs!!
Hey on stickers ... when we gonna get you to sell some? I'd ask about you selling some t-shirts but I can't really see me wearing a Car Doctor t-shirt that has a moose's back side on the front and on the back it says "Do you really want to see my teeth?".

haha, ya I don't think those shirts would be a hot seller. I should get some stickers. Just never got around to that. IM thinking of having a graphics designer do something cool. Ill keep you posted kind sir.

Thanks, it seems like I heard some strange clicking noise on the audio with some of the shots but may have just been some interference. Will see how it holds up.
