Thank you for getting back to me xx
Finished!! Took me 3 weeks. LOL!
I now have a TEN foot shawl.
I folded it over once and it "sits" nicely over my shoulders like a jacket.
The shawl stays put and is very WARM. (It's looks Amazing! Almost like a shrug sweater. )
These would make great Christmas gifts, especially for "old folks", to take the chill off.
(Or if you live in Minnesota, Wisconsin, IL etc. ...)
However, for winter, I would use Bernat Baby blanket yarn instead of acrylic.
If I make this shawl again, (for summer), I'll use cotton, as I'm finding I don't particularly care for acylic.
Thanks, Denise!!!
AWESOME - Awesome - awesome !!! I am soooooo glad that you're happy with the finished product. I feel terrible when folks come back and tell they couldn't managage the project. I try VERY hard to keep them simple and doable because no one likes investing long hours and not having anything to show for it. THANKS for taking the time to update me. I big time appreciate it. If you can - send me a picture. Let me know if I can share it. email - denise@loomahat.com
I've been working on this shawl for 3 days. Funny thing is, sometimes, I go into "zen state" and FORGET the stitch. When I get out of the zone, I realize, I'd actually made up some stitches. They look FINE, tho'! You can't mess up this shawl.
I'm also using multi-colored yarn and it's gorgeous.
I can't wait to finish. Will probably take me another week.
Pinky - you crack me up girl ! I can always count on you for a dose of the giggles. All I can say is I sooooo know that zone why do you think I try to keep these pattern as simple as possible. BIG Hugs my friend - share some pics when you're done.
Pinky Green h
I made this with rainbow colours but just added strans of tassels without the beads, and you know what, it still looks gorgeous! Thank you! I m wearing it today to meet a friend 😊
The yarn you used is absolutely beautiful and the coloring matches your rubber bands on your loom hook.
This is gorgeous 😍 I have so many of your patterns in my looms right now that I'm going to have to finish at least one before I try any more 😂
Pretty! I will have to try this with variegated yarn! Thanks for the suggestion. Saving it in my watch later. Love that fringe!
Thank YOU for the Thanks Darlene, I really appreciate it !

This thing is gorgeous and i am planning on making it for a gift or something. i am using a 41 peg round loom and i used three different shade blue yarns and used them together to make a beautiful color combination! i just started it a couple minutes ago and CAN'T WAIT for it to be done. gotta make sure i do not over do stuff tho. i hope i don't mess it up at all since this looked absolutely fantastic and worth the time and work! this will be so handy and great in fall or early spring when it just starts becoming warm! you really should keep up the outstanding work and keep blooming ideas of creativity into everybody's mind! Beautifully done
WOW HOW BEAUTIFUL. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR TALENT.
another awesome video! thanks Denise!
THANKS for the Thanks you !
I love your work! Thanks again for all the nice patterns.
Thanks for the Thanks Ollie !
I got it! I did it, lol! Unforch, it didn't turn out like yours, because I used Lion Hometown on Martha Stewart's (ugh) loom. I put large pegs in every 2 holes, but the stitches were close together instead of mesh-like. It's pretty, tho', and I gave it to my niece. Next time I'll use #4 yarn.
Yep - the yarn makes a HUGE difference
love this I'm new to loom knitting, going to give this a go thank you much
Thank YOU for the Thank you Joy I really appreciate it !
Nice, your so talented. Thank you.
Thank you !
Love this pattern! :D And the color of this yarn is sooo beautiful!
I'm ready to try this
so happy to see another fantastic video!!!!!
Before you start the 2 rows of u-wrap before the bind off. U say to "Slip 1st stitch) what does that mean? N u also didn't show it in ur video. Did u mean skip? 4:13
Well, it is now day FIVE, and the ball of yarn (skein) got into a tangled mess. I got so distracted trying to keep the yarn "straight", I went into the "zone" again and botched up the shawl. Had to UNRAVEL 1/2 my work and start over. Also, had to unravel the entire ball ("skein") of yarn and re-wrap it around an empty box. What a mess!
Since I'm a beginner, I've been getting cheap acrylic yarn from Walmart. I think I need to step up my yarn (quality) a notch, as the 100% acrylic isn't so easy to work with, nor does it look as good as a wool blend.
Well, onward I go.
BTW, I'm glad I unraveled the mess I'd made and started over. With NO mistakes, the shawl is really looking lovely.
Yayyyy!
-PS - I just rewound your video - I see I SHOULD'VE used COTTON yarn!
Lesson learned!
Pinky - so sorry to hear this. Listen acrylic yarn is fine - in many cases very beautiful. Maybe take a short brake then come back to the project. Don't give up friend. I would so love to know that you finished this shawl and I want to see a picture when you're done. I've got faith in you P - make me proud girl. Come on Pink - You can do it - Yea !!! Okay so I get silly :) :) :)
Beautiful thanks you for sharing 😊 😘 xx
I love this!!!😍 I will try as soon as my loom is free hahah
Thanks for sharing!! BTW. I love your videos!!
What type of yarn/color did you use?
This is a great video and pattern. I’m going to make this as a Christmas gift for my child’s teacher. What kind of beads do you use for the fringe?
Love your videos !! Beginner here...Can you use 5# yarn ? How many skeins of yarn ? Thank you
Denise? Do you think this edging would look ok on the bottom of a poncho?? I am running out of time and would rather avoid a million tassels at this point because I am still trying to finish the poncho in 5 days! 😮
Hi denise
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your videos. They are so awesome!!
Can you use a #5 weight yarn for this shawl?
love it...very nice.
This is great! the loom set I have are even numbered, like my extra large is 40 pegs. This 1 peg difference has made a (not so nice) difference in other projects, will it in this one?
Just use 39 pegs for this project - will work fine
Wheni did the blind off it does look right it's a bit tight is there away I can show you please thank you xx
Hi - you can use my work email - denise@loomahat.com
Love this pattern. May I ask what's the width of the shawl?
Hi Maria - the finished product is 18x60
What is the length and width of this shawl? Thank you!
It is so pretty!
Hi - here's a link to the project details loomahat.store/products/mock-mesh-shawl
Hello it s very nice. I would like to know the size of the whool. Please. Thanks a lot
Can you do this with fingerless gloves?I wanted to make some that look kinda lacy but the pattern i found was awful
Love it!
Thank YOU !💛
That's so lovely thank you for sharing 😊 ❤. Where did you get your yarn from please hopefully I can get something like it thank u xx
Thank YOU so much for your kind words. 💛 This is an older pattern. There should be a link in the video or description where you can get that information if I had it when I made the project.
Beautiful!!!
beautiful!!! 💖💖💖💖 this!
Are you using a number 4 yarn? Thank you♥️
Whats the yardage of the shawl??
Beautiful!!
I used this stitch in the origami market bag it also had 75 rows but your stitches seem loose but mine are a bit tight can you tell me where I am making a mistake
can this pattern be done on a serenity loom
did you use cotton yarn for this pattern
Hi Mam can we make this with long loom please reply
I found a 40 peg loom, but will the even number throw off the pattern and if so what can I do to adjust? Thank you
This is a flat pattern - you can just use 39 pegs to make it an odd number
Thank you so much. I am excited to make this pattern.
Can you tell me please how many skeins did you use ? Xx
Beautiful
Thank YOU
do i add beads and knots to both ends?
Where did you get your yarn at? I really like the one you used!~!
I believe Joann's - for a while they had it on Amazon .. not sure at this point. Sorry :(
Beautifull!!😍❤️❤️❤️
Is there a other way you can build off thank you ❤xx
Yep - you can use the super stretchy bind off www.loomahat.com/super-stretchy-bind-off-flat/
beautiful tank you
Thank you for the Thank you Hajar !!!!
very pretty
Thank YOU Sassy Sales !!!
does it matter if u wrap the first and third peg clockwise vs counterclockwise?
No problem - it's a matter of the direction you choose to start
Is it possible to use fingering weight yarn for this project with a 3/8 inch gauge loom?
Yes it will work fine
Do you have to use cotton ? Can you use any wool ? Thanks
Hi Jane - yes you can use any fiber for this project
I just finished my shawl and burst into tears. Somehow the bindoff end was about 10 stitches shorter than the original end plus there was a big hole where I must have lost a loop.
Lois, I feel your pain. this is a large project. You can use a threaded needle with the yarn you used for the shawl to pick up those drop stitches. If done correctly it should be barely noticeable.
Thanks Denise. I ended up taking it all apart as the bind off was wrong. I'll give it another go soon.
Lois - if you ever find yourself there again (God willing -never) here is an idea ruclips.net/video/TL6JjRRbw-A/видео.html
Approximately how wide is this if made on the 41 peg loom?
This is made on a 41-peg loom. It's 18x60 inches
Is it possible to make this on a 36 peg round loom?
Yes - but it will be more narrow - and only use 35 of the 36 pegs - you want an odd number
Thanks
Hi Denise,
I'm still wroking on the shawl. LOL! (Making mine extra LONG. I think I'm AFRAID to do the bind off at the end :>( ).
A few days ago, I wrote down the steps for the Bind off, but somewhere in the video you mentioned 2 different procedures. I think at 5:30 minutes, you said to alternate knitting off every 3rd or 4th peg, otherwise the shawl will be too tight on the end.
Is that correct?
OMG Pinky - I love it when I see your name !!! You are way too funny and when you're done with this shawl you big time owe me a picture - and I am serious :) As for the bind-off I was dreading it and it's my design so I can relate. When I say every 3 OR 4 it's because some folks are tight knitters and other knit very loose. IF you want to stay consistent then I would choose every 4th peg.
LoomaHat.com - Thanks, Denise. I'll do every 4th peg, 'cuz I know if I alternate, I'll go into "the zone" again -- and RUIN the end of the shawl. Thanks agian.
I feel like I did something wrong I followed the tutorial and did the binding cast off and closed it up but as soon as I took it off the whole thing came apart in my hands I’m really devastated this was supposed to be a Christmas present but I’m so devastated what am I doing wrong I couldn’t even save the yarn I had to throw it in the garbage too 😭
Beautiful!
+Leslie Ross Thank you for the Thank you! Very much appreciated.
Hi! This scarf?
Yes it is a scarf
Love these colors! Can you tell me the name and color of this yarn? Curious about it being cotton yarn, is it soft?
Could I use a 36 peg loom instead?
You can - just keep in mind the more pegs the wider the project - the less pegs the more narrow.
I found a 40 peg loom, but will the even number throw off the pattern and if so what can I do to adjust? Thank you
I found a 40 peg loom, but will the even number throw off the pattern and if so what can I do to adjust? Thank you
This one is more my style
Please would you put this video in Spanish too? Thank you
