I watched the first movie for the first time with some friends at home with all the lights off. Midway through the movie, our dog decided to come thumping down the stairs (which were right on the opposite side of the wall from the couch) and almost gave us all a heart attack. 😆
Let’s be honest the part that was freaky was the first paranormal is when the movie went off at the theaters, it was no credits just a black screen the lights in the theater didn’t turn on man we ran out asses outta there 😅😂
I really want to do a short parody of this franchise where it turns out all the weird stuff, the bumps and bangs and crashes and moved stuff and etc, at the end you find out it was just the neighbor's cat getting in and being an a-hole.
I hate found footage movies, I hate people arguing about turning off the camera in those movies, I hate overly complicated lore and confusing timelines, and I hate those annoying loud jumpscares. Horror should be creepy and atmospheric, not BOO! jumpscare every five minutes.
"Tokyo Night" was actually put on theaters here in Mexico, but some time after the real 2 came out, and the assholes from the cinema chain titled it "Paranorlam Activity 0", which was a dick move because everyone was already waiting for 3 which was a prequel. Now I like it, but I remember feeling completely ripped off at the time. Great to see you two guys together!
I did like part 2 a little more than the first. But what did take me out a little was the "Found footage films should star unknowns" because when I saw Kristi I was "oh that's Claire's friend Anita from Six Feet Under". 3 does go gonzo for it at the end!
I started the "Bourne" titles thing on the live chat, but It went off the rails because the movie title parodies were supposed to be based on movies that Matt Damon has been in...
Having seen all the movies when they came out except "Next of Kin" which I saw a year later, I believe "Ghost Dimension" is by far the worst due to the bad CGI and poor acting. I did like "Next of Kin" with all the cool dark tunnel stuff, crazy amish folks and the snowy setting. The climax pays off in the end. It doesn't have found footage though. Great video! I had dropped Hack the Movies for some months and came back with this one. I still have Waterworld pending.
I can safely say I haven't ever watched one of these before but the "Worst of" is one of my favorite series you do on the channel so I'll speed run them with ya
I quit after the 3rd one. Any horror movie or franchise that gets to cults and covens becomes instant garbage. No cult in a paranormal movie has been scary since rosemarys baby, and that even hasnt aged well enough to be scary at all.
Should have used the fan cam along with the night vision. Just have the camera flow back n forth between Cecil and Tony, regardless of who's speaking at the time. Change random objects in the background, have someone walk in wearing a bed sheet, etc.
I’m 40 now & remember hearing a radio spot the guy said this will either scare the shit out of you or you’ll think it’s the dumbest movie. This is the only scary movie besides Blair witch & the 1st Saw where the theater was packed and at the end we all just got up and left. Not one cat call or stupid one liner everyone was like holy shit. Slept with the light on that night lol
All of them. Is that an acceptable answer? Related note: I thought night vision was more green. Im basing that on some older videos starring paris hilton btw 😂
Steven Spielberg was a consultant on the first film, as he gave the directors advice on how to set up a jump scare and keep the audience in the edge of their seats till the very end.
The worst one in the paranormal activity franchise is the first one because they left out the most crucial component in any movie and that is the credits. Why did we have no credits in this movie I want to know who played who, who did the camera work everything. Even the worst or offended movies at least they have credits on there
I was watching something nice, then video ended and i heard Tony voice, good thing comercial came up so i can write this and go for some another video without hearing Tony.
@@leonzaduncan2438 I liked the first and thought the fifth one was okay. (Mostly because we finally get to see someone other than upper middle class white people.) Didn't care for the others, and I absolutely hate 4.
3 is obviously the best in this franchise it has offers many new scares and more scares compared to first two films. In my opinion Kitchen scene and sheet scene were destined to become classic horror scenes in horror genre. And the last 15 minutes... witch coven was scary as hell. I really liked first two movie but 3 has different dynamics. 😊❤
They could have connected Next of Kin to the other movies. Especially if you could into the lore of the demon used in the movie...Asmodeus. Part of the Christian lore is that he constantly disrupts a woman named Sarah's marriages. Sarah was used as the name of the mom in the movie. It is hostile to Sarah through out the book of Tobit. Asmodeus kills 7 of Sarah's on their wedding nights. Eventually Sarah meets Tobias who she plans to wed. It's Tobias who finally defeats Asmodeus. Notice the name Tobias....Tobi. C'mon they could have changed it up a little to make the story fit in with the Christian lore. In the movie Asmodeus gets away. Maybe one day we'll get a Tobi vs. Asmo scene.
I'm confused because the original ending that I saw with my parents ends with the cops and her with the knife. The other end in that they changed and her being possessed et never saw, but the thing is the whole cop shooting her is the only part that mean my parents didn't seem when we first saw the movies, so I'm confused. As there are 3 innings, the one where the cop shooter, 1 where the cops don't shoot her, and they she just sits for days or the 1 where she gets busy. That's because I know they won't with the possessor out with the sequels. But she didn't get shot by cops. If she still alive in the sequels soh , i'm confused
My favorite horror franchise, easily. Haven't actually watched the newest (fake fan, I know), so 4 is hands down the weak link. It's the only one I'd outright call bad. The rest are varying degrees of good to great. I go back and forth between the first and third as my favorite/the best. But The Ghost Dimension was a surprisingly solid ending to the series. I had said for years that if they actually showed the demon that it would ruin it, and yet they managed to make it work and it resulted in some really cool moments.
I’ve only seen two “Purge” movies (the first and second), but I actually really enjoyed the first one. You can’t go wrong with Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey.
I saw the original cut. The reshot scenes were crap. The original cut felt more realistic and was full of tension and suspense. But the reshoots stopped it.
Well i did not know there were 2 more VHS movies. 😂 Guess i need to go watch those. On the side note. I enjoyed 1 and 2. 3 and 4 were meh. Marked ones I enjoyed except towards the end. The warp part killed it for me and the time travel was not needed. Ghost Dimension was rough. I just finally watched Next of Kin which iagain enjoyed the first half but there at the end when they decided to do the slowmo effect, i was just like what....
Tokyo night ties into one of them. The one with the blonde teen. They talk about someone being hit by a car ..and that someone was katie You got it... I see
I thought the first second and third paranormal activity movies were good but then around the fourth that's where the series pretty much ran off a cliff for me
I actually really liked Next Of Kin, although that may just be because I think Emily Bader is extremely attractive. The movie might have really sucked and I just didn’t notice cuz I was too busy simping over her…
They are all terrible and ruined horror for awhile. All the industry made was these type of ghost demon movies. There was only one movie I liked of this genre and Noone talks about it at all and it's forgotten. The possession of Micheal King! The movie was more realistic and 20 times better than Insidious, Annabelle, and Paranormal. The dude did dmt in a graveyard and had satanic sex on acid and had a Satan book that made him draw what was possesing him an ant which he found on his body every time he got rid of it. Freaking crazy movie and Noone talks about jt
Haven't watched them in a while, I think 3 is my favorite but I need to revisit this franchise. Btw dude your videostore is haunted, look at the tapes 😮

Aside from Saw, I can't think of another franchise I find more tiresome than this one. Absolutely hated the 1st one, and it just never improved. Then again I have an irrational hatred of found footage films. Chronicle being the only one I was able to sit through and not wish horrible death on everyone involved.
