- DAY FOUR in Dallas we woke up at the incredible Westin Galleria and decided to take the day to drive out to Fort Worth and explore it to the fullest. Fort Worth is the next largest city. Here are the top things to do in Fort Worth!

Our first stop in Fort Worth was the Stockyards. This is basically the Wild West of Texas. Everyday at 11:30 am and 4 pm you can see a cattle drive. We then headed to buy some souvenirs.
After that we headed to Cooper’s BBQ, at only a 2-minute walk away it was the ultimate BBQ feast! Brisket, ribs, sausage and lots of beans!
Lastly we headed to the Fort Worth Zoo which is famous for being the #1 zoo in the United States! We saw everything from Asian Turtles, to Lions, Penguins and Lone Horn Rhinos!
On the ride home, our Uber driver decided to give us a quick tour of Downtown Fort Worth.

I'm from Fort Worth - kinda cool to see someone experience it as a tourist! There aren't many videos about Fort Worth, it's one of those cities you love the longer you live there. There are so many hidden jewels in this city. I'm glad you had fun!

Yes, both Dallas and Ft. Worth have zoos. If you have to choose, go to the FW zoo. It's definitely better.

Fort Worth resident here! Didn't know the Fort Worth Zoo was ranked so high up there! Good to know, we need to appreciate it more, it's hard to get out there in the Texas heat though ;) !

Its not in the center of both cities.. It's in the center of Tarrant County and Dallas. Also Fort Worth Tx and Dallas are two different cities. Fort Worth Tx being the superior city to Dallas. Dallas is just a tap bigger and the media or what not goes there. Fort Worth aka Funky Town Tx

Yeah. Back in the day, (and i guess still to this day) Fort Worth and Dallas have a bit of a friendly rivalry. To get an upper hand, Fort Worth decided to embrace the cultural side of Texas. Dallas simply got big and made a bunch of fancy skyscrapers.

I live in Fort Worth and not once have I been inside Coopers Barbecue. I've been to the Fort Worth Zoo many times. My dad used to take my siblings and myself to the Zoo every Easter. Jimmy Stewart used to be a supporter for the Fort Worth Zoo I believe. I do like the Zoo. I've seen the stockyards for sure and I have been inside Billy Bob's when the Soap Stars showed up,I waited along time there for autograph signing. That was the year that " The Incredibles" was on video.

Heim's is another excellent place for bbq... Followed up by Melts Ice Cream just a few doors down!

Hey, if anyone is planning on visiting, see if you can do it around the time of the Alliance Air Show. Because Fort Worth also has a fairly rich aviation culture. Its a great show. Typically lasts from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Its an all day event, and its annual. They have a website for it i think. If you can make it, you should try!
Coopers is pretty good BBQ, but next time you come to Fort Worth you have to eat at Railhead BBQ. Blows Coopers out of the water, glad you enjoyed your time here

I looked up Fort Worth Texas because it’s where I live and this is the first video i found and I did most of those things
Cooper’s BBQ is legit! The great thing about Fort Worth is it doesn’t matter where in town you live there’s a great BBQ spot down the street.

I came from Norwalk Ca (small city in Los Angeles) to visit my sister and her fam who just recently moved down here I went to the StockYard (Awsome af) real cowboy vibes, also went to the F.W zoo (super awsome) and went to Coopers BBQ.... well about Coopers... it’s a nice location cool vibes, although the food was a bit more expensive than other spots. I had 1beef rib and slice of Brisket it came out to almost $30 and it was heavily salted a lil too much for me but good experience that that same Pit Master was there so that was cool to see him (July 2020)
Next time, be sure to visit the art museums, specifically the Modern and Kimbell.
And there are better BBQ spots (Rail Head, Heim most people like Woodshed). I'd recommend Fairmount area for food (Spiral Diner is there in case you want to try good vegan food) and you may have heard of Joe T Garcia's (classic Tex Mex).
Another must-see if you go back is Bass Performance Hall. A great spot to see a show.

From fort worth right here, its different to think that tourist come and visit here. You hit good spots but there is so many more to go to, it takes a lifetime to see it all.
Grapevine - where DFW Airport is located has so many good things to do as well. There’s several festivals on Main St. throughout the year: GrapeFest, Main St Days, Christmas Festival. And it’s absolutely worth checking out the Texas State Fair in the autumn located in Dallas. Cowtown hosts the annual Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo in February, can’t miss that if you’re in town. If you emjou flea markets, check out Trader’s Village in Arlington on the weekends, right by AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Park, and Six Flags. It’s such a thriving metroplex that it’s impossible for me to list everything there is to do!

There is a place called Theo's BBQ on a remote corner of the east side of the city, black neighborhood but good meat and BBQ!?

Drive 50-60 miles West to Mineral Wells, Audie Murphy trained for WW2 at Camp Wolters & I was one of the first babies born at Beach Army Hospital. I was also Fort Wolters where many of the pilots were trained to fly helicopters in Vietnam. In Fort Worth, Carswell AFB was where the Roswell Aliens were taken after the UFO crashed.

I've been saying this to Jim Riskey since the 80's, the biggest mistake in Fort Worth is making Fort Worth a distination, not a day trip where people stay the night. Jim supported more resturants & bars, I supported more activities, I'm afraid things haven't changed since then. Are people really aware of Hell's Half Acre/the Water Gardens? We have JFK related sites like Dallas does, the Texas Hotel. Oswald was a child here, anyone know or visited where he attended school when he was ten years old? Fort Worth has history, it's where the West begins, Dallas is where the East breaks wind.

sayhello2heaven Fort Worth is way less stressful, there’s a lot of subcities inside of Fort Worth that are smaller and more local and still have everything you could ever need. Keller, Watauga, Haslet, Haltom City, Saginaw, Hulen, just to name a few. Dallas has similar subcities like Lancaster, Frisco, Plano, but still pretty hectic in those areas. Dallas is faster paced living.
Fort Worth for sure. I have lived in both counties and now a realtor here. I have out of state people ask me that all the time. Welcome to Texas. Enjoy yourself.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area is growing like wildfire. I just hope they don't repeat the same mistakes the once booming metropolises of Chicago and Los Angeles made. Do it right DFW, I'm rooting for you.
@Bray Webster I read up on the Panther Island project and it's going to be huge. I seen the site on Google Earth and the land is about the size of downtown Fort Worth. I've been to FW only once and it looks like a clean place with more stuff to do for fun than Dallas. That city has a bright future ahead.

I'm glad you enjoyed that bar-b-q. I have lived in Texas since 1981 and Texas bar-b-q is some of the worst I've ever tasted. I've eaten at a lot of bbq restaurants here and it was not fit for human consumption. The sauce is watery and the beans are tasteless. I think people who like Texas bbq have never eaten it in GA, MS, Chicago, Kansas City or Las Vegas. Dickey's bar-b-q is one of the only Texas traditional bar-b-q restaurants that I would recommend because they have a delicious hot sauce, and they serve onions, pickles, jalapeno peppers, relish and banana peppers at no additional cost.
I'm a born and raised Fort Worthian and the best barbeque is the barbeque you fix at your house.

Also like to add some stuff David didn't get to experience. Make sure to take the haunted Fort Worth tour, the water garden downtown, Casa Mañana, and the Bass Performance Hall. Theirs lots to do here considering we get overshadowed by Dallas.

It's weird hearing someone talk about Fort Worth with interest. I've lived here for a very long time and I'm miserable here. I've found some very cool places across Texas in rural areas far from here. I can't find the same experience in this city.
