Im a huge fan of your channels! Thank you for highlighting Fort Worth, I’m a born and raised Fort Worthian and I’m so glad you and Pops had fun in my city! I hope ya’ll enjoyed the rest of your Texas trip!
Fort Worth is more than a cow town. Voted the best zoo in America last year, with over 7,000 animalsm Kimball art museum is world famous for art collection. Amon Carter museum has the largest Remington art and sculpture collection in the world. Botanical Gardens has symphony concerts in the summer at night. Japanese Garden, Bass Hall was designed with perfect acoustics and the 27 mile paved trail alkng the Trinity river, oh, and the Main Street Arts Festival is ranked in the top 10 in the US. Many other things, too. But, thank you for the insights you provided about my home town!
Fort Worth is home!! Also Fort Worth, Texas is the last major city in Texas that still holds on to its southern hospitality beliefs. Big city but feels like a home sweet home type town.
I was just in Dallas in October but didn’t make it to Fort Worth (we went for a family wedding so didn’t have time). This video makes me want to go back soon!! Whenever I vacation plan, your channel is the first one I check to see if you have any content on the destination. Your videos are so well done and I love the adventures that you have with Pops, Amy, and now your twins! 😊
Fantastic! We were right behind you in line - it was great to talk with both of you. My son came in for work - from Colorado - and we both agree it was amazing food. Also super glad to know that Goldee’s was the top spot. It was our first trip there as well. So many amazing BBQ spots here in the Metroplex. Glad you had a great time in Texas!
Was great to meet you guys! Thanks for subscribing and watching the video. Goldees was amazing, other ones we really liked were Franklin, Truth, Interstellar and Cattleack, but all Texas BBQ is at another level haha
I REALLY enjoyed this video! I lived in Fort Worth for eight years in the 70s and all of my family still lives there. I got some ideas from this video where I will take my nephew the next time I visit family.
@angierainey482 Overall, Fort Worth, Texas is a city that combines its Western heritage with modern amenities, making it a fantastic place to visit or call home.
I really enjoy your channel! I deeply respect that you include your Pops! The information that you share is awesome! You are like the American Rick Steves travel guide!
👋🏽Josh… 👋🏽Pops… I Don’t think I could wait on line for that length of time…kudos to both of you for your patience…and I’m happy you both enjoyed your lunch…I loved…loved…loved the cattle drive…Totally Amazing watching. TFS these Awesome places. See you again soon❤️❤️❤️❤️
My husband and I just discovered your videos and we love them. You make us feel like we are right there with you. The BBQ looks amazing and your Dad (aka Pops) has a good singing voice. Seems like he loved Texas. Looking forward to more travels with you and Pops. Thanks 😊
I’m from Michigan. I visited the Metroplex about 40 years ago and I got the chance to go to Bill Bob’s. A friend of mine was a DJ at KVIL and he was there to represent the station for a Mac Davis concert. Got to see the show from the side of the stage. Great time, it still looks almost the same as what I remembered.
You probably make more great memories in one trip that some do in a lifetime! Can’t believe anyone would wait that long for BBQ . But I guess it is what you make of it.
We did so much in this Texas trip for sure. Yea, it was weird to wait that long for BBQ but we really wanted to experience all the best Texas spots so we waited for Goldees, Snows and Franklin on this trip.
Always enjoy you and Pops checking out a new place and hitting the highlights! The food looked amazing and made me ending up going to get dinner an hour early, lol! Those Longhorns are gorgeous! Thanks for the cool day in Fort Worth!
@BrancyCDA I made a one time journey to Fort worth in the early 90’s for a rodeo. Damn! it was amazing. The huge never ending Farms and animals, food and cultural events made that one of my best memories ❤
Great there at Billy Bob's. I was there on November 13, 2004 and who was on stage? Willie Nelson he was 71 years old at the time. Will never forget how wonderful! Willie is now 89 does he still perform there? thanks for sharing!
Fort Worth is ab awesome place to visit, walj around, dine in, drinks, dance, meet people, and even stay overnight in a local downtown hotel instead of driving back home on the highway.
Great video. I'm excited for this series. I just got back from my first vacation since discovering your channel and I have to thank you for all the great activities and recommendations to do in northern Arizona. I'm going to keep watching to find the vest things to do across this country
It is not a stampede lol it is a cattle drive. You did a great job on this! We LOVE the John Wayne Museum. Love looking at the hats. Hoping someday soon we will have a new building for the cowboy hall of fame! Cool stuff hoping for more room to display so you can see more. Thank you for a great video about our little town!
We have thought about doing a Texas Roadtrip and didn't even consider Fort Worth, but maybe we need to rethink that! I love that water garden and would love the Stockyards area. Those cows are adorable! Those horns look so heavy. You don't know the Gatlin Brothers?? Now I feel old! ha ha. This looks like such a fun place to visit, it must go on our list!
Great Video! Just fyi, Goldee's has the best banana pudding desert we have ever eaten to go along with their delicious bbq. So for anyone first eating there we recommend adding it to your must eat list when ordering.
"Texas" is HUGE dude so you need to "pick your spots". It's also VERY diverse in terns of cities and attitude as opposed to AZ. As a lifelong Texan I can help you with places that are MUSTS and places that are AVOIDS. Start with Ft Worth as a MUST. Arlington is great for Six Flags/Texas Rangers game. SKIP Dallas unless you want to visit JFK assassination site. That is the ONLY reason to go to Dallas. Spend a little time in Austin and a LOT of time in San Antonio. Skip Houston and Gulf Coast.
You should! We visited Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Waco and Austin. All of the cities had their own unique attractions and charm. I will have a massive road trip video on our time there in the future.
You are in my neck of the woods. I have been wanting to go to Goldee's, but after they were rated number one by Texas Monthly Magazine, I figured it would be a mad house. You confirmed it. I did go there many years ago when it was Ken's BBQ. Good, but not in the same league. Thanks for showing what it is like to be there. Maybe someday I will go there late in the day and see if they have any scraps.
@@ThroughMyLens I believe years ago Snows was rated number one and the crowds were enormous. Franklins usually has a large crowd based on their reputation. You certainly experienced the best Texas has to offer. BTW, last year I drove from the DFW area to Key West and stopped at several places that you visited during your trip. The doughnuts at the Salty were especially noteworthy. Also we enjoyed feeding the tarpons and eating the key lime pies. The thieving pelicans enjoyed it too. Your videos have given me a lot of suggestions to visit and helped me see places that I have been wondering about, but had not planned to visit. Hope you keep up the channel for a long time.
Even if you only had twenty-four hours, there's so much more to see and do here in Fort Worth. The museums, the Botanic Gardnes, the zoo. Maybe next time. And better places to stay then in Dallas ;-)
Excellent video! My family and I were just there 2 weeks ago. Central Texas vacation from Canada. So sad I skipped the stockyards 😢. I won’t make that mistake again.
That cattle stampede was far calmer than the Walmart Black Friday stampedes years ago. Even I knew the Oak Ridge Boys sang 'Elvira' and I'm not even into country music! (We had it on cassette in the 80s).
Another great video Josh, first time seen what a longhorn looks like. Only thing missing you guys riding a mechanical bull and also did you visit buc-ees on this trip?
You think you can do an upstate New York trip video? I think it would be very interesting because upstate is superrrrr underrated. Love to see you cover any small towns and hiking trails!😁
The man with briefcase ,reminded me of the movie with Pierce Brosnan he was an art thief in love with the lady cop who tried to catch him.when he stole the paintings,he and about20 others were all dressed in suits with breifcases.
Fort Worth is not in the West, nor is it even the gateway to the West. That is just a lame attempt by the city, at giving Fort Worth some geographical significance. Dallas has none either. Their is good food there in Fort Worth but ultimately it is just a glorified Texas cowtown. Like most Texas cities.
Good job covering Fort Worth , my hometown. 100% TEXAS and nothing like Dallas thank GOD.
It was a great city, I really enjoyed it!
It's a horrible dump and the police don't do anything.
Been here since 1954 and I not going anywhere
Be nice Steve. 😂 Live in Southlake and I love Dallas and Fort Worth equally. Both are sooo different yet so Texas.

Ok but Dallas is not Fort Worth. Fort Worth is its own Separate city. What is with you out of towners thinking Fort Worth and Dallas is the same
Moving here in the summer and this just made me so much more excited to see a current updated video of what Fort Worth is now
Same here.
I love those Water Gardens! I want to go there so bad! I'm a photographer so it's definitely a MUST-SEE for me!
@lauraslanestravels That would be a lovely view and A lot of beautiful things to take shot of ❤
This is my home and happy to see you made it to my home town. I love to see an outsiders view of my home.
Excellent review of The Stockyards
I believe the water gardens were used in the final shots of the movie Logan's Run. :)

John Wayne as Genghis Khan in the 1956 film "The Conqueror" is the funniest and the weirdest at the same time.

A lot of nice scenes in this video captivated my attention and interest. It was really fun to watch the contents of this video.😀👍👍
I was born and raised in Fort Worth, two places to eat, cattleman’s steakhouse or Joe T Garcia’s
I'm amazed people think the water garden is beautiful, it's so grim
Great video! Tell pops “elvira” is sung by the oak ridge boys
Loved the water gardern

Cool video of txase
What were your thoughts on the long horns? Seems like they been bread for us to view but they all look so uncomfortable and not happy.
The fact you made it out of that dump alove is amazing cause the police department doesn't do anything.
