Always like your videos! Love the shots you have taken! Cannot find the promo code you are talking about. (Another thing: The church clock shows 11:35 at night; does your mom knows you are still out there on the street?)
Thanks! I guess mom is okay with me haha ... the code is "tomscameras" and here are the links: (also see the video description) Amazon US E-mount: www.amazon.com/dp/B0CP1QX5FX?th=1 X-mount: www.amazon.com/dp/B0CP1PVDR5?th=1 Z-mount: www.amazon.com/dp/B0CP1PTGN9?th=1
@@tomscameras another reviewer seemed to find the 16mm and 23mm not that sharp when compared to the Sigma 16mm and the viltrox 23mm. I know you tested only the 33mm. FYI from what I know the Sigma 16mm is quite sharp for the price.
Thanks for your feedback about the other lenses. Yes, the Sigma f/1.4 lenses are very good. I guess most photographers would prefer these! About the Viltrox, I also only know the 33/1.4 from my own experience. Here I definitely would prefer the optics of the Sirui, even if I would not care about f/1.2. (I have a review video of the Viltrox lens on my channel, but on a Fuji body.) Going f/1.2 is something special. It also means these lenses are much larger than f/1.4 lenses. But for some specific use cases it can be worth it.
This video has colors that is a bit less spectacular than the usual. I wonder if you switched cameras or coloring process? As far as the Sirui lenses, they look pretty good to me, not so sharp that the images are sterile and possibly stealing a bit of dynamic range.
@@Imhotep397 I switched from the Fuji X-E4 to the Sony A6700, maybe that's the reason? Having said that, I just edit all the RAW photos to taste. Nothing spectacular. Maybe also my taste / style has changed a little bit in the last months? Good question. I don't think the photos look too dull or in any way "worse" than in my last videos. But that's just me :) In any case, it's not lens related. If at all, it's camera related!
Just tell that to all the Sony users :) ... apart from that, I definitely like the output of this Sirui lens a lot. But as I said in the video, I'm not the guy looking for optical perfection anyway. My biggest gripe is that the Sirui lenses don't have an aperture ring (same for the Sigma f/1.4 lenses). But that's also connected to Sony's memory bank system that also changes the aperture setting whenever you use memory recall ... unless the lens has an aperture ring.
Thanks Tom, another great video with gorgeous photos!
Thanks Kim, I'm really glad you like the video! :)

The colours look a little faded. Did you purposely correct them that way? Similar to a type of Fuji colors?
Yes, indeed I was shooting Fuji cameras for the last 4 years. :)

Thanks :)
There is a reason they are cheap, Fuji top lenses are BETTER output, I will take a 33mm F1.4 over this any day
