Excellent video, you have covered many of the quirks of the crossfire and supplied good fixes. You can eliminate the rust on slats by mixing 21 Mule team borax laundry detergent into the water table. Get some PH test strips from a pool supply store and add enough borax to get an 8 or 9 reading on the PH test strips. Then save the water and reuse. If you take the drain plug out of the table you can get more of the water to drain. But your solution also works great. Good Luck with your race truck build!
I ordered a Crossfire Pro after seeing two another channels with tables. I found your channel after searching for more Langmuir content. Thank you for sharing. Some great tips.
Great video it helps me plan my workflow footprint. I love the idea of having wheels on all the equipment. My air compressor resides in another shed but if you guys are planning to put yours on wheels , please be mindful that some compressors like mine for example are extremely top-heavy and wants to fall over if not bolted. Note to self: plumb plasma table drain straight out of the garage through the wall (Im too lazy no way in hell im gonna drain that table every time, that table works for me i dont work for it lol). Also put drill press, band saw, belt sander then lathe all in correct order from the door so when i blow out door im not blowing debris into the lathe, milling machine, beer refrigerator, ect,....
I've had my Pro table still sitting in the box from the first batch, lol. I think I might go head and get it out and setup after watching both your vids today. lol
I"m glad that my ID doesn't match my Langmuir member ID. I am batch 2 and received my pkgs back in May. Covid, then medical, etc complicated my set up plans so now it's looking more like Spring before I get the garage plumbed.
What a great video! Thanks for all the good information. I just placed my order for the crossfire pro, it should be here by March. I am very much looking forward to upping my fabrication game!
I think the thumbs down here are just envious of large beautiful cuts. I too now have a Crossfire Pro from your videos. Also rewatched this one and added 4 items from your afflinks and will buy buckethead next time I'm in Homertown. Thanks from Colorado.
very much appreciated I have been looking at the different systems and I think this system will work best for our small shop and your videos make it pretty easy to make the decision
The CrossFire Pro is a great table. I’m getting the XR, but only to get more cut area. I hope the cut quality of the XR will be as good as the Pro. Thanks for watching.
Try putting a dimple for your drain and put a valve on the bottom of it much easier to open and close the valve then unscrewing a nut food for thought maybe that’ll help
Wow ! This is the absolute best video, also I am very impressed with the cleanliness of the shop and as a guy in the woods with a gravel shop floor I loved the polished concrete ahahaha Thanks for making Every decision I’ve been wrestling with a no brainer !
Tell me more about your metal rack, I need to build one also. I ordered the crossfire pro after watching you first video, thanks, I also raced off road short corse here in the Midwest, vw air cooled, love your videos keep em up
I will try to get a pic of the metal rack. It is OK. Tough to make a good rack for tube and plate. There were some lessons learned on this one. Thanks.
Agree with the ball valve idea. I would run tubing from the drains and join them together prior to one ball valve. Both pans could drain into one bucket simultaneously.
One tip for those using vinegar or other acids to remove mill scale. you can also let rusted up parts sit overnight and the next day you'll have clean metal .anyways after using any acids for cleaning you need to oil your metal if you're not using right away cause after they come out of the acid they will start to rust almost immediately. if not using right away it's best to just leave the mill scale as a protective layer also don't try any acid cleaning on aluminum only on steels 👍👍👍
I agree...If I just wash off the mil scale with after the vinegar bath, it will start to rust within minutes. What I usually do is hit it with the bristle brush and wipe it totally dry then leave it in my fab shop, and it is still shinny metal a week later. Moisture is the enemy.
Thanks for the great videos, I also apriciate you fushion 360 videos, I'm wondering what torch your razor weld came with it looks like the one I have, which I've been told is an ipt. I know the new razorweld x's can use hypertherm, but the torch head I. Your indexing video looks like mine without consumables. Reason I'm asking is I bought my table/cutter used and they had trifitment consumables in it, just wondering if I could use hypertherm in mine also.
Your Channel is awesome! I am going to buy either the Pro or XR. Im wanting to start a business cutting parts, signs and what not. Do you think the XR is a much better bang your buck? it seems to me that it is. Thanks and keep it up. My new favorite channel.
Thanks for the video! Any recommendations for cleaning the x and y axis bars as well as the torch handle. I just don't want to use any chemicals that will interfere with the performance. I have quite a bit of splatter on all of those parts. Thanks for your time.
I see you have the hand torch head on your Razorweld vs the machine torch. Do you take the cutter head off the table and use it free hand or you just didn’t wanna pay for the machine torch? I’m trying to decide which torch head I should get. How much work is it to remove the machine connections so the cutter can be used free hand?
FireControl is free from Langmuir Systems and you can find it on their page under downloads. You can load it onto your computer but it will not work until you plug your USB into the control box on the CrossFire Pro.
Just purchased the pro that is back ordered, do I need sheetcam? New to this and still trying to find out what software I need to design then cut. Thanks
Right now I use Fusion 360 for CAD and CAM. It is nice because it is free for personal use for one year, but seems like they are tightening down on what you get with the free version. After the year, it seems like you need to start over again with a different email, or purchase the program for $400+ a year. Many swear by SheetCam, and for the one time $140, I am looking at it too. I think you still need a CAD program to go with that, so I may look at SolidWorks. Fusion360 is a nice free way to get started. If I do go to SolidWorks, I will make a video. Good luck.
What is your opinion on the razor weld 45, I'm trying to decide between razor weld 45 or the prime weld 60 for the the crossfire pro. I know in your previous video you recommended just getting the razor weld but my budget is pretty tight. So I'm trying to save money where I can. Thanks in advance
This recommendation would not be worth much because I have only used the RW45, but I like that one because it is wired to be a simple plug and play...I needed that on my first plasma table. With that being said...if/when the RW dies for any reason, I will replace it with a Hypertherm.
I asked the company about wheels on the crossfire pro They don't recommend. I noticed you have wheels What is your experience with using wheels? What brand do you use? Link?
I would not be good at recommending one, but what I use is an Asus laptop that I purchased off the returns shelf at best buy 6 years ago. I have even run a Surface 3, but would not recommend one of those. I tell you that to illustrate that even a turd laptop will work. I feel like people overthink this part. Probably any laptop that will run FireControl will be good.
Hi. I'm taking delivery next week of a Pro and you said you would not use again the wheel system you bought. They are rated for 2200# What did you not like about them, as I have ordered a set? Thanks. Welding on wheels seem to remove the leveling feature.
After 18 months I have changed my mind. I would use them. Just make sure you lower the rubber pads to take the weight before you fill with water and load up the table with metal. That will keep from bending the caster studs. Thanks for watching.
@@ntdracing I spoke with Langmuir and they don't recommend casters at all. I wonder if that's from side loads being applied to the minimally supported legs? Might fashion a low , rolling platform with cutouts along the edges so as not to interfere with the feet. Could even cut that out on the plasma. :-)
No...the casters are M-12 1.75mm pitch. The inserts from Langmuir systems are M10 1.5mm pitch. You can probably find similar casters with the correct pitch, but
What is the HP rating of the bench grinder you are running the Belt grinder attachment on? I have a 1/2 half HP 8 inch Craftsman That I would like to convert.
Mine is a 6”. It does not have a power rating on it that I can tell. I have had it for 20+ years. Could probably go for an upgrade, but it does the job.
That all depends on the plasma cutter. I have only cut thin aluminum, and my Razorweld did great. I think it would cut 1/2, but have never tried it. Thickest I have cut was 1/4 HR steel.
Thank so much showing just using white vinegar remove the mill scale. I’ve been a fitter for 35 years and had no idea lol.
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! That method of taking off the mil-scale! Incredible method, HUGE thanks! Stay up!

I fabricated a tool to joggle the opening upper surface so it is just above the top of the brass fitting. It makes the hole a little larger.

Great videos, my table will be getting dropped off in September, this really cleared up a lot of questions for me! Subscribing!
Good video. Get ball valves. Also, I silver soldered fittings to the bottom of my table so the inside is flush.

Man this really helped out thnx for your help!!! Prob one of the best vids out there!!!
I don’t know about vinegar and gas, But make sure you don’t store break fluid and chlorine in the same area.
Great video content. Do you ever cut aluminum on your table? Now that you’ve had it for some time would you still buy this table again?
Who is the cool guy in the stocking cap in the portrait hanging on your wall?

The price of that $800 compressor has bounced around a little. On Amazon it went as high as $1400 and as of Aug 2022 was down to $1024.
Bought my Dewalt 60gal under $400 about 2 years ago and today cost $899 at Tractorsupply. Prices going up on everything so I better buy my table soon.
Thanks for the video! Any recommendations for cleaning the x and y axis bars as well as the torch handle. I just don't want to use any chemicals that will interfere with the performance. I have quite a bit of splatter on all of those parts. Thanks for your time.
I use WD40 on the guide tubes and gear oil on the lead screw. Hope this answers your question.
Maybe this was answered by why use hot rolled steel if you have to go through the effort to remove the mill scale? Is cold rolled that much more?
Just price. I might take another look at CR. Thanks for watching.
Excellent setup, I am trying to do something pretty similar. Do you have plans for your compressor platform? it looks very convenient.
The greater is he whose in me than the one whose in the world .
No link to the PlasmaGreen?

What is the Model number for the HUSKY table your laptop sits on ?

Neither can I now. The deal must have been too good. When I saw it at Home Depot, I bought 3 of them.
Mine will be here in a couple weeks, so stoked. When and where did you get the Fire software?
FireControl is free from Langmuir Systems and you can find it on their page under downloads. You can load it onto your computer but it will not work until you plug your USB into the control box on the CrossFire Pro.
