  • It took about one day to buld the Langmuir Systems CrossFire XR and test it with the first cut. The cut quality is impressive, and will only get better as I zero in on the best setting to use for each type of metal I cut. Subscribe and keep watching to see how we put this table to use as we start the build on our next race truck.

    I loved every moment I served in the Air Force, except the times we got the worst news about a friend that would not be coming home. These tragic events instantly left families without a Father or Mother and many times without their primary income source. While the US Military has resources to help families carry on, more needs to be done. This is where organizations like Folds of Honor step up. Man…. Dave….. THANK YOU!!!!
    First of all, I’m Sold on the XR. You never mentioned quality is an issue.
    2nd, God Bless You and all the other fabricators for putting their content out here for others to see.
    I’m a disabled guy looking to start my own small business and work out of my garage doing fab work rather than crawling under vehicles and hurting myself anymore. You all have shown me so much and I will be forever grateful.

    Dave, would you recommend this unit for a cnc machine shop to use for rough cuts of 3/8 plate? We buy a bunch of profile plasma cuts and our shop cnc mills out the tight dimensions on the inside of these parts. However if we can do our own plasma cuts it would save us a ton of money. This machine is well within budget for the jobs we can use it for. Please share your thoughts.
    Thanks in advanced.

    • @ntdracing
      @ntdracing  Год назад

      I cut mostly up to 1/4. That said, the table is strong enough take a 4x8 1” sheet, so it can take the weight you would put in it. The motion of the machine has not given me any issues and seems robust enough for production. The only part left is the ability to cut 3/8, and that has everything to do with which plasma cutter you add to the table. The RW45 works great for me, but I am into one off parts and not production. This might be a case where a more powerful Hypertherm would be worth the investment. Hope this helps. Good luck.
