    I loved every moment I served in the Air Force, except the times we got the worst news about a friend that would not be coming home. These tragic events instantly left families without a Father or Mother and many times without their primary income source. While the US Military has resources to help families carry on, more needs to be done. This is where organizations like Folds of Honor step up. Sharpening drill bits hints & tipss: Buy the largest Drill Doctor (XL 750 or 750XL which has 3/4" dia. max capacity. I used to work in an auto research machine/metal fab shop & became the "guru" & trainer for sharpening on the Lisle 9100 drill grinder & sharpened drill bits a few thousand times. Snugly adjusted, & stone wheel diamond trued, it sharpened well, but was Slow on larger bits (1" to 1 1/4" max.) I developed a post-sharpening technique (Pro Tip) with 150 to 180 grit sandpaper. I tear a full sheet into quarters, then fold or roll the quarter-sheet so it fits the groove in the bit (grit facing out). Next, I fit it into the groove, maintaining the Angle of the groove & slide the grit across the groove side of the cutting tip, removing the dwarf that rolled over the edge during the grinding procedure. I may gently stroke both sides of the cutting edge (stroking AWAY from the tip, Not into the edge, which dulls it & tears the sandpaper. Drill Doctor tip:Learning to Index the bit is the first thing to learn, watch their video instructions several times! 2nd get 3/8" to 3/4" dull bits initially. They are easier to see what's happening, if things go wrong. Most people blame the Drill Dr. for goofed up bits, when it's them that lack understanding! I get Great performance from them Every time, because of prior understanding of drill bit geometry & lots of experience with other sharpeners. The big Drill Dr. has a bonus feature to make regular bits into Split-Point bits, adding secondary cutting edges to the center (web), like having a built-in pilot bit for faster drilling! I hope this helps! Practice & practice! Sharpens cobalt bits & carbide masonry bits easily too!

    I'm definitely going to move the screen and pc. Too much water splashing in that area. Also going to 3d print some collars for the cords going to the control box so water can't run into the enclosure.

    Great videos thank you so much for uploading!!! Beside the obvious that once its done you cannot take it apart, why wouldn't you weld the four water bays together? it seems that most of the complaints about the water reservoir is that they leak. I really don't know enough about the product but it seems like a reasonable fix. TYIA!

    Are the motors hot to the touch even before running the machine? Mine are and I haven't even ran the break in mode. You seemed to have no issues with yours but my experience has not been good and I haven't even made a cut.

    Did you have to get a longer torch cable to relocate your cutter? I can only seem to find 20’ torch cables for my plasma and i’m worried about it being to short on the XR.

      @@ntdracing Crossfire, Pro and now XR, drainage seems like an afterthought for Langmuir. You, I and others have solutions, mine's a hack, around their poor design choice that actually work. Please post an update video after you've used your 1/2" tube solution for a while. I'm interested to hear if 1/2" diameter was sufficient or had clogs due to debris. Thanks for fast reply this morning.

    I’m doing this exact thing. Just wondering if you couldn’t keep it hooked up to your water hose spout would you put a shutoff ball valve on that far end to keep it from draining when unplugging it from your water spout?

    • @ntdracing
      @ntdracing  Год назад

      Sometimes I leave it connected. Other time I just make sure the end of the hose is higher than the level of the water in the table. A valve would be handy.

      @@ntdracing mine will be on the opposite end of the shop so I can’t leave it connected once I fill it I need to be able to seal it off and roll it up. Would you still recommend this method?

    Enjoying the Plasma journey, shame they don't allow freight to Oz at this stage. With Fusion look around for a little help on either the pattern and or the mirror command will save you some time and effort for regular multi hole layouts :) I have a love hate relationship with the sheetmetal environment but when you get it dialed in having it calculate material bend allowances is a great thing to add to your toolbox.

    • @ntdracing

      @@ntdracing first, I appreciate your prompt responses. Would it be possible to attach some kind of downdraft system to avoid the smoke?

    • @ntdracing
      @ntdracing  2 года назад

      First I would say that the water table does an ok job keeping the smoke down. If I was going to make some kind of a downdraft system, I would attach it to the bottom of the water table then drill a bazillion holes in the water table. The slats that hold the material you are cutting sit in the water table. The bazillion hole plan might let you suck smoke through the Swiss cheese water table and retain the slats without having to engineer something new.
