Street smart and common sense with ad ability. I'm in SWAT. I love what I do. Not looking to make tons of money because I measure my success in other ways. I'd work for you if you ever travel to a hostel area, not as your muscle you have deebo for that but as your threat consult. Trust when the shit hits the fan. I'm the guy you want. Anyways. You're a major public figure and it's great hearing your mentor advice.

Tai, you are Trillion percent right. Today I attended a lecture in Anatomie, and the professor kept questioning our common sense. He kept asking what if this what if that. There is logic for everything, but a common sense make things the way they work better than they just are. I study medicine for the second time in my life in another country with a different language and I always passed the exams with learning and realizing the facts with common sense.

Zoning Out is the emergent approach to life or problem solving and Zoning in is the reductionist approach. Both are equally important, the reductionist approach is a must-havr for people who are working in your business whereas the emergent approach is a must-have for leaders and visioniers who are working ON your business.

Good Tai, I have noticed the same thing on the job. I never heard it put this way but many young are to zoned in and can't think past the directions if a curve is thrown their way, and when they get older they do the exact task, very well, everyday, but can't deal with a change. You have to improvise when life throws a curve, think on your feet running, show initiative and never stop learning new things and above all be willing to listen always.

I love Tai. He gives such good advice that he learns from his mentors or has learned himself in his experience. Once I get older I might even take some of his advice to become the amount of successfulness that I want(if that even made sense.) I talk about him to my friends and they don't understand how good of a speaker he is. All they know about him is "he gives away cars" and I'm just like "well yah that's not all he does. He also gives advice on how to be successful in life." The way he speaks makes me understand and makes me want to listen and take note.

  • @brianjames2004

I pride myself on bringing value to my employer by being able to zone in on daily duty details (8 on a scale of 1-10), while also being adept at zoning out on understanding the overall objective of our corporate mission, performance standards, and manager's expectations. I constantly try to think like an executive to prepare myself for greater responsibility while employed, and later once I leave the organization and pursue self-employment full-time. On a scale of 1-10, I would say I zone out at 7 - meaning I have more to learn from a macro-enterprise standpoint. Great talk, Tai!

I know that I'm only 21 but so far in my life I've noticed how there's a lot of really stupid people in the world who have no idea what common sense is and quite frankly I don't think half the world knows common sense exists! More people should watch your videos tai! They can learn a lot from you! I appreciate that you post on social media so much it helps me and other people get through our daily lives and also to hopefully reach where your at in life!

I am not crazy I stick out like a sore thumb because I have common sense stuck in this system. Your mentorship is also great leadership and I absolutely appreciate it. I've been asking how can I teach myself when things are necessary. This blessed me thanks Tai!!!

I believe the ability to zone in and out is something that is by far uncommon. Working retail you see a lot of it, I'd say a good 70% of people come in for something and along the process are either distracted or do not do things as asked by the associate because they do not see the big picture. I also noticed this with people who are attempting to develop in my company. They get so focused on metrics and numbers that they shy from the true vision of being a manager and that is the development of associates and the ability to instill successful values into those associates to therefore help you increase your metrics. Thanks you for this video Tai, it is always great to see things from another perspective.

I genuinely appreciate this video . I have been in search of direction and today your video has opened my mind to see limitless opportunities. I’m 20 years old looking for a job that could offer more then just a level 1 puzzle. Would mean the world to have a mentor like you.

You got it at the last few seconds. It's now uncommon sense. It's being educated out of the population. I was shocked to see a video of kids in America crossing the road after getting off a school bus. They just wandered across the road oblivious to their surrounding. As we try to make things safer, we are actually making things more dangerous. By exposing people to dangers and making them aware, we can help them develop their own thinking ability and self reliance. Love what you do. Keep it up my friend.

Tai! It's ridiculous how motivated you've got me. I'm, for now, working 9 to 5 and at the same time for the last year been working towards my dream as a rock photographer. Thanks to you last weeks I've been balls deep in learning social media and internet marketing and I absolutely could not be happier to learn. Still working my 9-5 but I see so many different possibilities in my future that dropping out of the current workplace is starting enter my mind more and more. Thanks for everything you do! Oh and for the question at the video, I'm probably at 8 at the moment.

This video just popped across my feed. I totally agree with this. As someone who didn't finish college, I'm in a position where the preferred level of education is an advanced degree. When you can apply knowledge and use practical sense there isn't much you can't do. That knowledge didn't happen overnight. I made sure I understood the base concepts and in turn it made the more complex ones easier.
Go to college if it will genuinely help out with what you want to become. If you don't go you can still be ok. You might start a few rungs down on the ladder but you'll see more stuff on your way up. A degree isn't mandatory for you to be driven to succeed. Be an asset not a liability. Learn for understanding. Spend more positive thoughts toward you and your goals and remove negative thoughts toward yourself and others.

During my last internship, so many co-workers tried telling me exactly what to do without ever telling me what needed to get done. Every time I had to stop them and say, "tell me what exactly needs to get done". Then if I need help I would ask for those exact steps. This does not only apply to being a good worker, but good managers should not have to micro manage their employees. People need to think for themselves.
