Coupon does not work for LHD new kit. Thanks for video. I do want more Bass but I've heard problems with battery draw leading to errors with new firmware updates. Have you thought of a video to replace stock speakers with better ones to get better bass?
Stop making these videos. You make it look so easy and well informed. I ordered the auto frunk after watching your auto frunk install video 😂. Now, already considering this audio upgrade too. Keep up the good work mate 👍🏽
Just did this myself and it was a success! A couple of things I'd like to mention: 1) When removing the panel under the glovebox, I could not remove the right-most cable. I tried pulling until my fingers started bleeding but no luck. So I left that one in and fortunately it wasn't much of an issue 2) When everything was done, my front windows started acting strange. When pushing the window switch "full down" or "full up", the automatic raising/lowering did not work. Fortunately there was an easy fix - I recalibrated the windows by holding the switch down until the window was down and then for a other 5 seconds, then repeated the same thing while raising the window. Edit: Also, I didn't have that fancy screwdriver so I didn't remove the bottom panel on the driver's side. This did not create any issue at all.
Awesome work Jehan - glad to hear it was a success! And thanks so much for sharing your experience about how the install went. I'm sure it will be super helpful for other viewers 🙂 The window playing up issue is very interesting as I've never had that so far but it's good to learn something new.

Thanks so much Jehan! It should take no more than 1-1.5 hours max. It obviously took us a little longer due to recording from different camera angles, etc. but I’ve heard of some people completing the install in about 45 mins.
Hi, I'm not a fan of highs but you mentioned that it should be suitable if you adjust it in the sound settings. Have you noticed the bass is still strong when doing this? Also, I noticed there is a "control box" that comes with the kit, you didn't use this from what I can see, what is that for? Great vid!
Yes if you tone down the highs/treble a bit from the settings, you can get a much more balanced overall sound in my opinion. There was pretty much no underlying impact to the bass with this kit but due to brighter highs on default settings, to some it may sound like that the bass has been dampened a bit. The control box for this version of the kit just literally makes it work - there are no buttons or anything you can change on there hence I didn't really talk about it much. Hope this helps 🙂
What does it actually do to change it like that? Do those 4 speakers not do anything usually? Is it like that in the 2022 Model Y? Seems odd to have speakers connected to nothing?
Yes it sure does! I just seems absurd that the speaker hardware is there but Tesla just decides to leave it unconnected in the base models of the 3. This is due to the difference in the partial premium interior of the RWD/SR+ vs the full premium interior of the LR/Performance variants which I talked about in my previous sound system review video (ruclips.net/video/P_zp-rNwLk4/видео.html). For Model Y, luckily even the base RWD model for the AU/NZ has the full speaker system so this is not required. Have you received a delivery date for your Model Y yet?
Hello Everyone, taking delivering of my 2022 model 3 next Monday . It does come with the upgraded immersive audio but I was wondering if this particular upgrade can be on the 2022 model 3 ? Thanks
@@aasiflaskar1315 sorry unfortunately I'm not aware of the anyone that does installations locally here in NZ. If I do come across someone in the future, I will leave a comment here :)
No unfortunately the 4 speakers I highlighted in the video are present in the car but not connected/activated. This installation was done on the 2022 Model 3 and they definitely were not activated from factory. Hope this helps 🙂
I have a question for you regarding Fog light's my Tesla doesn't have any , I see you can buy new LED turn signal and fog light's, What i want to know is there any wiring installed for new light's or do you need a new wiring loom installed ?
I've seen a couple of other videos on this and it seems that there is a wire that exists in the car already. However, since the fog lights are disabled in the SR+/RWD firmware, the existing plug needs to be rewired to work along with the headlights rather than having its own on/off switch.
@@baldrick2200 What I mentioned above applies to all base variants of the Model 3 I believe... so you would still need to rewire the plug as unfortunately the fog light control cannot be enabled in the firmware in the SR+/RWD variants.
The default audio system has 8 speakers (with no subwoofer, 1 amp) in the 2022 RWD model and 13 speakers (with 1 subwoofer, 2 amps) in the 2022 LR and Performance models.
@@EVKiwis so if you would like to have the 13 speaker setup as the long range, the option would be Hannshow Version A? Also interesting on where to add the DIY 2 rear surround speakers and for cable management
@@chichyiphone4 That would be the Hannshow Version F kit for the full setup with the subwoofer (it's currently out of stock on their website). If you get the Version A Kit with the 2 rear surround speakers, they get attached to the rear parcel self in the car and the cable gets routed through the trim panels of the rear doors and next to the rear seats. Hope that helps 🙂
Certainly interesting. Question : as the car is always connected to Tesla with Wi-Fi / premium connectivity, can they tell that you have altered the car and if so does that cause an issue. Another M3 RWD friend told me that they can lock you out of the supercharger network. I’ve no idea how true that is though? Also I’d be interested to see if you can add a sub! You’ve got yourself a new subscriber, thank you! Cheers Jon

Thanks Dhruv, ordered the kit without controller (though not sure really what the difference is in sound). Wasn't sure the paper instructions were clear enough especially when hanshaw video isn't consistent. Thanks for the details! Will install today
Installing mods like these doesn’t exactly void the warranty on the car as that would be a violation of the law. However, if you install this kit and anything related to the audio system breaks and Tesla feels/shows that something isn't working because of this kit, they can deny warranty work on that part. The installation is easily reversible if you do need to take it into warranty for some reason.
Seems like it was introduced in all the 2022 models manufactured in the Shanghai factory (so not just NZ specific). Even my 2021 made in China Model 3 doesn't have it.
Caution: The 2022+ version did not work in a 2023 model 3 Sr+. While the driver side additional two speakers worked, all except one of the passanger side speakers stopped working.
@@nateice1 Thanks - did you install? I have a RHD and guess one connector under driver side, one under passenger side then the 3rd connector is under the passenger side door trim B piller?
For reference. It does work on 2023 models and the RHD new DIay version means you do still have to go through the centre console. The LHD drive new version everything is on the passenger side.
To bad that he didn’t get the kit with the 2 speakers in the back (existing only prior to the 2020 version, though not connected) and the missing amp 😂
Yep! I sure was and raised my disappointment in the sound system review video I did last year (ruclips.net/video/P_zp-rNwLk4/видео.html). Have no idea why they do this honestly... I mean take the speakers out completely if you aren't going to connect them. Or offer them as a paid upgrade if you don't want to include them in the base model 🤷♂️
Don't buy it! They send me the cable after I remind them a month after I paid that they forgot to send it. When I got it: no instructions. I try to fit as in video and when arrived at pillar to plug that one there: no match. Contact them: send them pictures and they told me that is a diferent place to plug it notcas you see here, but on the other side ... They send me some pictures with instruction where the car in the pictures is a LHD. At this stage I had enough of theyrs s stupidity and just tell you: don't waste your time and money
I haven’t personally installed it as there’s no difference in performance. The new version just has an integrated control module and is cheaper, otherwise no other difference. The installation is pretty much the same as shown in this video 🙂

@@Y0UTUBEADMIN They can say what they like, but it does not change the laws of the country. In most countries it mods will only void the warranty if the mod you made causes an issue. So if you mod your sound system and have a failure with the sound system it will void the warranty on the sound system but the other components/operations of the car will not be effected. I believe the difficulties will be, who has the onus of proof of whether your mods effected some other component or operation of the vehicle. In instances in the past where I have seen a vendor try to deny warranty of an unrelated fault in New Zealand the vendor quickly backed down and honoured the warranty when challenged.

@@nateice1 Thanks - did you install? I have a RHD and guess one connector under driver side, one under passenger side then the 3rd connector is under the passenger side door trim B piller?
@@tomwootton254 I just ordered a few days ago and will complete mod soon. New version only requires one side to be taken apart. I have LHD.
Yes it will work if you buy the AMD version as another viewer suggested 🙂 the speaker config has not changed from the 2021/2022 models
For reference. It does work on 2023 models and the RHD new DIay version means you do still have to go through the centre console. The LHD drive new version everything is on the passenger side.
what is the song playing during the sound demo LOL
Haha just had to choose a copyright free song that had lows, highs and some bass 😄
Welcome to the world of rattles when it’s all back together 😂😂😂😂😂
Haha I personally haven't experienced any rattles at all 🙂
Very bad customer service, called a U.S. number and no one pick. Facebook messenger ask you to email them. After sale support is almost 0 at best.
Glad that the new Model Y has all the premium features which you do not have to pay for
Absolutely agree! The premium sound system alone makes up for the little price difference between the 3 and the Y
It’s included in the price so technically not free
@@JesusisKing2000 guess you could say that, point is nothing extra like the model 3
Way to much work for 4 speakers..
Yes I understand it will not be everyone's cup of tea... but hey at least it's good to have these options out there 🙂
To bad that he didn’t get the kit with the 2 speakers in the back (existing only prior to the 2020 version, though not connected) and the missing amp 😂
Not too much work necessarily. You want it, or you don't want it, easy.
100% right mate
😵💫😵💫😵💫
Anyone else annoyed that they have to even do this just to get speakers that are ALREADY INSTALLED to work 😭
There is also footwell lights and door pocket lights installed but disabled by tesla on SR models
Anyone if this works for the 2023 model 3?
Yes it does - just buy the AMD version 🙂
This is way too much effort just for 4 speakers to work.
Have you installed the new version of this kit?
I haven’t personally installed it as there’s no difference in performance. The new version just has an integrated control module and is cheaper, otherwise no other difference. The installation is pretty much the same as shown in this video 🙂
goodbye warranty
Installing mods like these doesn’t exactly void the warranty on the car as that would be a violation of the law. However, if you install this kit and anything related to the audio system breaks and Tesla feels/shows that something isn't working because of this kit, they can deny warranty work on that part. The installation is easily reversible if you do need to take it into warranty for some reason.
I have asked Tesla and showed them this video and they have said this is instantly voiding warranty.
