20-day Legion Go owner here. Apart from the battery life, I really hated the speakers...AT FIRST. Until I decided to tweak the equalizer through the Realtek Audio Console app. I'm telling you, turning off the Omni Speakers and tuning the equalizer to my liking, this thing sounded way better.

I just switched from SD OLED to Le Go, and there is hate and love about this device. Even though the OLED has a better screen, the 8.8-inch Le Go is more beautiful; the colour is vibrant and vivid, and the pixel density is perfect!. In terms of battery life, in some scenarios, OLED has a better battery life; for example, I could get 6-7 hours playing Kingdom Hearts series on SD OLED, unlike Le Go, where I could only get 4-5 hours. But, in Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes, OLED could only last for 2-3 hours; however, on Le Go, I can get 3-4 hours with TDP 9-10 Watt, 800p, RSR On; same scenario in Elden Ring as well. The RSR, Loss Less Scaling, is a big winner. Some people may hate the weight of this device, but you need to adjust for a couple of days, and you will ignore the "weight" thing :).
Really appreciate this insight! Since I have the LCD Steam Deck, I haven't felt it's worth it to pick up the OLED. I've been impressed with the Le Go screen, but as you said, the battery life isn't great. Grateful to have both devices, the future is bright for handhelds!
For me, the biggest loss when switching from the SD oled to the Le Go was the community controller configs and the touchpads. RTS games for example kinda suck on the Le Go for me, even with FPS mode, since there's no community made configs and versatility of the 2 big touchpads. Also miss steam os, since everything just worked, although not as versatile.
I'm with you man. I have a high end gaming pc, 2 xbox series x (one I use in the lounge for streaming mainly) and a meta quest 3 but the LGO easily gets most of my gaming play time. It's just so good to sidle up a comfy chair/couch with good headphones and fully get immersed into a game with this handheld. I used to have the og lcd steam deck but issues with reading small text and constantly toggling versions of the linux steam software/proteus got so annoying that I sold it on. The legion go is the best all round handheld out there.
Personally, I only use the Legion Go for gaming. It can be used for productivity since you can connect a mouse and keyboard thru a dock/bluetooth but sometimes Windows 11 can be a bit wonky on the device. The biggest pro is probably how portable it is versus a gaming laptop. If you're looking for a gaming laptop that also works for productivity, I use a Lenovo Legion series laptop and it's been great for the past couple of years. I constantly see other people recommending Lenovo Legion laptops - they definitely have a good reputation!
@@LT101YT I know, I just like the idea of taking off the controllers and use the legion go as a stand alone tablet. Plus Bazzite OS is looking pretty good
I used to hate using it because of the weight and the palm of my hand would hurt everytime I use it due to it's sharp edges, then I ended up selling it after 2 months. DId this happen to you as well? And does the 3d printed grips fix the issue?
This happened to me as well, it would dig into my palms. The 3D Grips have definitely helped, especially for longer sessions. I'm surprised they didn't round out the edges more on the device
I haven't tried many RTS games, but I've played games like Civilization 5 and 6 - I think it works well enough. The device also has a touchscreen too which could help. Worst case, you can always connect a mouse and keyboard!
I'm not sure if it was fixed but I was unable to see my FPS when using the Legion Go monitor display. When using Steam, I just turn on the built-in FPS counter. There's a video by Filterless where he explains how to update the drivers for the ROG Ally but it's the exact same method on the Legion Go!
If you're experiencing delay when docking it, you might have to mess around with some settings. Make sure the device's refresh rate matches the TV/monitor

@@Diego-de6dq True, Steam Deck feels much more "plug and play" whereas the Le Go needs more tweaking and configuration

Lately, I've barely touched my PS5 as I now do most gaming on the LeGo! Also recently went on a trip with it, takes up space but totally worth it

Legion go or laptop ? I'm interested on games but productivity as well , Wich one would you recommend?

Was also shopping around and just got a Legion Go. I also have a Series X and I love that I can access Xbox games out of the box.

Does Le Go run ultra modded Skyrim?
I play Skyrim and Fallout 4 with around 50/60 mods, runs well for me - if the performance drops I just lower the resolution
I dont really play the latest titles
Usually only RTS and moba with the occasional fifa with friends
How important if VRR for me ?

they never put out drivers for it... the gpu drivers are months old lol
There's videos on RUclips that demonstrate how to download and install them manually from the AMD website. It's a workaround, but better than nothing!
