A power surge during an electrical storm caused TV to not work. Watching this video decided it was the power supply. Replaced per instructions in this video. TV now works. Good video.

Thank you for the tutorial! What does the power supply board cost and where did you order it from? Thanks again!

So I believe I have had a power surge to my tv and I already just ordered a new fuse for it. I did not have an electric tester on hand to check the fuse and diodes so I just took the fuse out and the fuse broke while doing so. Can I still check the diodes without the fuse? Also that fuse has to be soldered to the board correct?

@after hours tv/ pc repair. So the diodes shorted when you used a jumper to cross the fuse ?

Why aren’t you using the diode test function on your meter? It’s right next to the resistance function you’re using.

I bought this tv from Walmart on clearance. After a couple months the remote would not connect to the tv. Everything else works. Do I need to buy another remote and how would I pair the remote to the TV?

I'm not sure what university or technical trade school you were taught at, but true professionals are very well aware that you NEVER measure components while they are still connected to a circuit! You may have the rest of these 'youtube engineers' fooled, but you're really not winning any brownie points with true professionals. The reason that one never measures a component whilst it is on a circuit is because even if your fuse was blown, you could very well be closing the circuit with your ohmmeter. In case you do not know how an ohmmeter works, it sends out a small current in order to check continuity. And seeing as you have NO IDEA how the board is wired, there is no way that you could tell if you aren't actually just sending a current from one end of the fuse all around the board through other components and then back around to the other end of the fuse. In fact, depending on what kind of pcb you were measuring, like says smaller micro electronics, you could actually fry a chip by doing such a stupid thing. The fact that I have to explain this to you is disgraceful. Maybe you should stop being a Sunday electrician and leave these professional instruments to those who know how to use them.

Yeah this video was bad. I hope no one's actually believes this. He literally blew the tv at the end and made it worse.
