Darken the room, and turn tv on, and shine a flashlight into it, and see if you can see the menu, or whatever might be on the screen. If you can see the menu or whatever then you have a back light problem.
alright well i have the same tv and a power surge happened, it turns on then turns back off, I am going to replace the main then the power. my point being is that when it does go to turn on, everytime, the phillips logo and screen is fully lit up you can see it in any lighting. I have another phillips tv that does the same thing as this tv. But both tvs clearly light up as normal with no dark spots before turning off. I am sure its not the LEDs for both of my phillip smart tvs.
I think that you have a wrong supply board, because the original one finishes in nuber 1 and the new one finishes in number 2, other diference is the color of one of the parts of the board, the original has a green one and the new has an yellow one. check this out and let me know.

2:03 right where tip of your cable is, there is a red fuse. If you had power surge, it's highly likely that fuse is open/ blown. If there is no power across fuse (check connectivity via beep multimeter) replace the fuse, and you have a TV!!
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I needed the space and had to get rid of the TV before I ever fixed it. 😖. But hopefully someone else can learn from this experience and your response.
Check the diodes. I changed D907 and D911 diodes on power board to new ones - SB260 2A 60V - both the same and my PHILIPS 47PFL8404H/12 works again. Cost 10 Euro, 5 Euro diodes, 5 Euro soldering. ruclips.net/video/gzh8ICLMXzQ/видео.html - connect black cable of multimeter to the kathode (silver ending) of diode, and red to other side - it should show some voltage. If the diode is broken, you will see the same result as you would measure your diode the other way (red to cathode, black to anode).
Did it kill the roku device , the WiFi router still works the Phillips 1990 was the worst tv that year I got it for free . I m a chef so this crap it’s better to buy a 100 dollar smaller model
Hey, did you ever sell your power supply board? I have the same model and same problem and would like to try replacing it, but can’t find one anywhere. Thanks, Jared.
@@HelpMeOutVideos I'm not exactly knowledgable about circuit boards and such, but one of the videos I've watched from what seemed to be "professionals" had said there was like 3.3amps missing when transferring from the power supply board, through the ribbon cable, to the processor on the main board. They had some special rig hooked up to it which fired the tv up just fine, but I'm wondering if you and I are also missing this 3amps of essential power to the processor. I've also called Phillips and they offered a solution as follows: Unplug the TV. Hold the power button for 10 seconds. Plug the TV back in. It did nothing for me, but I'm still not seeing any lights at all turn on so there has to be a bigger issue besides a quick reboot. I would buy your new Power Supply Board for $45 to see if it does anything for my TV. I'll get in touch with you later. Good Luck!
I've got a Philips 55" with the same symptoms. Plug it in, attempt to turn it on, but it does nothing. No picture (even checking it with the flash light), no sound, not even the LED light. It does absolutely nothing. I ohmed out the fuse and it is good. That's as far as I have gotten. Do you think the problem might be in the green board? I was thinking it was in the other board. @@markb8035

How do you replace that fuse I’m having the same problem
Exact same happened to me. I was connected wirelessly though. Did you ever find a result?
Unfortunately no. And I had to get rid of it to clear room. but hopefully others can learn from these responses

Not yet. I was hoping to get a few more hints on how I could get it fixed.

Backlight
Almost positive it's the back lights (LED's)

Take a flashlight and light on the screen and see if there are any sign on the screen. If you see, the backlight is broken.
